Bisquick: Healthier Replacements

Speaking of Bisquick...does anyone have a recipe for a healthy version? I've been meaning to make some with whole wheat flour (have to check on the pastry flour!) so I can still make my impossible spinach quiche, etc!

Here's a bisquick substitute recipe that I've got:

6 c. flour
1 c. powdered milk
1 tbs. salt
3 tbs. baking powder
1 c. shortening

Stir together dry ingred.  Cutin shortening until you get coarse crumbs.  Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

makes 8 1/2 c.

Of course the shortening is awful, so you might try using real butter instead.  It won't keep as well though, so perhaps halving the recipe and storing it in the fridge would help.  I'm excited to try out this whole wheat pastry flour!!
