Anyone heard of a newborn with teeth?

My 5 week old dd appears to have a molar growing. I noticed it when she was about 2 weeks old but thought, "Surely that is not a tooth." But sure enough there's a nice white thing coming out of her gum and it's hard like a tooth too. I've heard babies could be born with teeth BUT A MOLAR? Shocked

My sister is an RN and she said I should have the babies hormone levels checked. She said she may be getting too many hormones from my breast milk? She's overboard medical intervention, if you know what I mean Wink

, and I don't necessarily trust her opinion anyway so I thought I would ask my trusted welltellme friends

Has anyone had or heard of a similar experience?

My boy got a molar coming through his gum at about the same age. It didn't fully cut, but you can see it. All the research I was able to find says that it's ok. My mum said that I cut my teeth out of order like that. I also know of a baby that was born with teeth. So, those things are unusual, and they happen. Doesn't mean that anything is wrong.
