Boysmama,

I'm  glad to find this thread. I have some brown lines on my bottom teeth that i just noticed and also my top teeth look see through sometimes if the sun is hitting them when i look in the mirror. I also think they look a lot more dengy then ever before but i thought it was because of my morning coffee which im slowly giving up.  Grin

So, now i know it could be because im not using store bought toothpast anymore and also maybe the baking soda is not so great for the enamel of my teeth. I am excited to see that coconut oil would work as a toothpaste. How wonderful!!!

As for the calcium...im taking Supermoms. Is that enough calcium? I just started on fish oil, primrose and adding coconut oil to my smoothies. Is that ok or would i need CLO?

So can using CLO and Cal-Mag also improve the color of already brownish teeth? I never took proper care of my teeth until I was 18 and they are not the prettiest color, plus I love tea.... Smiley

twitterpated, I assume you are asking me... In my experience supermoms were not enough, I also took 2-4 T of cal-mag and 8-10 CLO softgels a day. It may depend on how much fish oil you're taking as to how much CLO you'll need. Can't really help you with specifics there.

LePetit, I'd sure give the cal-mag and CLO a try! It worked for both my man and I.

I ended up with (self diagnosing here) dental flourosis.  You can google pictures.  Hubby didn't get it at home I think because he didn't have the added stress of being preggy and nursing three babies, and he doesn't drink near as much water as me.  We were using the berkey, but not the flouride filter.  We got the flouride filter and my teeth started improving right away.

Also, tooth soap!  I really like it.

I started having a problem again after using a mouthwash with distilled water for a couple months.  Distilled water leeches minerals from your body, so I imagine it would do that swishing around my teeth too?  I just stopped using it a couple days ago.

Oh yeah, hubby got dental fluorosis in Afghanistan because he drank lots and lots (its really  hot there) of bottled water with added flouride.  Two distinct, dark brown lines formed on his front teeth.  He's been home two months now and they are finally completely gone.

I'm taking super omega 3-6-9 pills. It says it has borage, flax seed and fish oil and you take one a day. Its 1200mg. I was thinking maybe because i take that i wouldn't need the CLO. I thought fish oil and CLO were kinda the same thing pretty much. Where can i get the cal/mag for a good price. Im afraid of calcium though because i get constipated easily.  Embarrassed Gosh, i feel like we spend a fortune in supplements and there are so many more i would like to take.  Sad

Well, I have ugly teeth again... (see my story starting here) the only thing different this time is that I'm pregnant and after taking lots of extra Cal-Mag and CLO for 4 weeks I'm not noticing any improvement.

So, if anyone knows of anything else I should be doing please post. Maybe I just need more patience this time since I'm pg. Tongue

I've noticed that some Cal-Mag supplements also include zinc...I think it helps with absorption?
I'm betting you need more of the cal-mag with pregnancy as well.

Here is another thread about teeth during pregnancy: Smiley

Thanks Gwen. I talked to my midwife and she suggests taking the same amount of mag as I am of cal, so I'll try that. There is 1/2 the amount of magnesium as there is of calcium in what I'm taking. (Now's liquid Cal-Mag, same as Beeyoutiful's Bone Ami)

Hey, hey! It worked! Yes, I am excited to have white teeth again.  Grin I upped my magnesium so I am taking equal amounts of cal and mag. Evidently, with being pg, I needed more mag to help my body absorb the calcium.
