So all you coffee addicts, my favorite is a tea from the holly bush in South America..Yerba Mate.

I actually have this in my cupboard!  I should try it again, can I make it in my french press?  I would love to make it in the morning, just because my Starbucks beans are almost gone, and I like to "change things up" once in a while.

Yes, you can make it in a french press...I did that.  You use 1 Tablespoon per 8 oz water (or 1 cup water).  I always make four cups at once and just heat it up in the middle of the day.  You let it steep for ten minutes, but many people find it too bitter so start with five minutes if you like.  Also, wet the tea in the bottom of the press with cold water while the water is boiling and then pour it in the wet Mate.  Enjoy!  (Add a T of honey or to taste)  Lovin'

Coffee - Starbucks -Yum!  (I'm spoiled on it)  Even my daughter recognizes the difference between Starbuck's beans and others.  We were at a hotel one am (and drinking the hotel's coffee), and she kept saying, "This just tastes so...I don't know,  wierd."  Later we realized - she's spoiled on it too!  (Though she rarely drinks it.)   Smiley

Due to a chocolate allergy and a carob allergy we invented the drink
snow ball.

How to make hot snowballs

Heat as much milk ( rice, soy, almond all work) as you want

Add sugar (as sweet as you want) while it is heating

Add Cinnamon (also nutmeg, all spice are nice)

When warm enough remove from heat and add vanilla

You can see how much I follow exact measurements at my house!

Enjoy! And stay warm!

YUM! I'm going to try that with honey in place of the sugar. Thanks for that recipe, and my girls will love it, just because of the name.

As we speak, I'm sipping a Grande Breve Latte from Starbucks. Yummmmmmmmm.

What is this, some healthy forum?  Starbucks bold coffee when I am out, and Swiss Miss hot chocolate with marshmallows when at home.   Cheesy Cheesy

But we also really really like the RiseAndShine tea from the BulkHerbStore.

Oh yes!  I forgot about that ~ and I even have the container of tea close to the coffee pot!  (I hadn't had either/or for at least a week - until I indulged yesterday afternoon because my best friend had her 8th baby and I had all of her other children here, so all of our older girls and I had some afternoon coffee as a treat!).  Rise & Shine is great too (w/honey)!

I was out of herbal teas one morning (we love all the zingers), so I made my little guy some "tea" with hot water, a pinch of vitamin c powder, a teaspoon of honey and a drop of vanilla...now it's everyone's favorite morning warm up drink  Cheesy  Not quite hot water, HB, but close!

I have been drinking chai tea a lot since I am trying to cut down on coffee...again...I am weakening already though.

I love the sound of the snowball drink!!

Hey, you can make your own marshmallow fluff and it subs well for marshmallows in hot chocolate.  Just make it, keep it in the freezer and spoon out as desired.   Grin

Mine is white chocolate mocha.

White Chocolate Mocha
melt together:
2/3 c. cream
6 T. white chocolate chips

Make a batch of espresso

Fill two coffee cups half full with the cream/choc. mix and then fill the rest of the way with the espresso...top with whipped cream, if desired.

You can make it with plain coffee, but I prefer the flavor of the espresso in this drink.

Blessings,
Jammie

This is really funny to read.  There are certain areas where we live which must be skunk havens.  Frequently when we drive past them it is obvious that someone has been sprayed, or run over.  BUT everytime, my husband says, "smells just like Starbucks coffee."  I do admit that I often have the jitters after  Starbucks, but I love that really strong flavor.

The first time I ever had a mocha latte from Starbucks was when I was living in Texas. I vividly remember drinking less than half of it and having to stop or else vomit. It was SO rich and...just too much. Fast forward 12 years...I can absolutely "kill" a Venti (large) Mocha Latte in about 2 minutes flat!! I DON'T, b/c after paying so much for it, I sip to make it last as long as possible, but my point was that sadly, my body adapted to accommodate my new addiction!

I don't think Em posted her yummy drink recipe here...it was on the Chat thread and I copied it to the preggo mama thread b/c it's good for calcium and iron...the general gist is this:

Hot Caramel Latte (or Cold):

8 oz milk
1-2 T. blackstrap molasses
1-2 T. cream
1-2 T. sweetener (optional)

We don't measure, b/c we make it for 4, but we love maple syrup in it!   Grin  I've had to adjust our milk order due to our new addiction!   Roll Eyes

We normally go through a gallon a week with kefir smoothies but this past week we used 2 due to the snowballs.  I HAVE to try this one.  I went to do it once and my brain automatically added the honey and cinnamon.  Oh well!  Maybe today Grin I'll let y'all know.  I think it was supposed to be blackstrap molasses for the iron though.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

This is FABULOUS! I only had sorghum, so that's what I used, and it is SO yummy! It really does taste like caramel. Too bad I'm using plain old store bought skim milk (I figure w/ skim I'm ok on the homogenization thing). And I didn't use any extra sweetner.

Anyway, thanks so much for this recipe. I'm so happy!  Grin
