Anybody drink Tulsi tea? I just read about it on Mercola, and it's supposed to be a great coffee substitute.

Not that I'm REALLY anxious to get rid of my coffee, but I am considering a healthier alternative...

My favorite beverage(s) hot style is usually tea.  I drink earl gray with a splash of cream.  Yum!  Stash makes a seasonal tea called White Christmas.  It is a peppermint ginger blend.  I buy enough to enjoy it out of season.  I also found out that a tiny local health food store is willing to get it out of their stock to sell to me year 'round. Cool  I have a favorite huckleberry tea, it also makes my favorite iced tea.
We have discovered an organic instant hot cocoa from NOW foods.  The kids love that!  Of course, the canned whipped cream that we squirt on top takes away all the good of the organic. Roll Eyes  In December I allow myself to buy Starbucks peppermint mocha.  Mmmm, mmm!  I know they can make it in other months, but I practice great discipline.  Or try too anyway.

Definitely hot chocolate is a favorite at our house....I must confess...that if M & Ms are in the house or run-away chocolate chip morsels *gasp*, I always find them at the bottom of my mug when I finish my hot chocolate, and then I have a creamy chocolate reward at the end.  Hi, my name is Justina...and I love chocolate.   Cheesy

I just bought some Tulsi tea (herbal Red Chai Masala) and it is great with some milk/cream and stevia.  I can't have coffee, hot chocolate, or black/green tea due to acid content, so this is the next-best thing!  Smiley

I love the Celetial Seasonings English Toffee dessert tea... with a good splash of milk in it! It has good ingredients, too:
roasted carob, roasted barley, roasted chicory, natural toffee flavor, soy lecithin and milk, cinnamon, luo han guo (what's that?) and milk thistle.
Sure is yummy!

For teas, Good Earth Chai (reg. or decaf- ingr. are slightly different), and Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane green tea, or just a good quality plain black tea (like PG Tips, from the UK) with about 1/3 milk (thought this was so gross when I moved to England, then I tried it  Grin )

i love this too, only less milk.  just enough to make it the perfect color.  i use British Blend from Tetley, so far it's the best i can find mainstream.  not too expensive, but really good flavor!

Thanks for posting that link.  It sounds like drinking any beverage (my fav. being strong coffee) too hot is a problem.

mine are:
vanilla nut teecino with demarara & half 'n half (kinda pricey but I'm hoping to get it cheaper through a co-op) www.teecino.com  -- tastes like coffee really

jasmine green tea from www.bulkherbstore.com

and lastly, not too healthy, I'm sure is Chai Late from oregon chai in the Walmart tea section... just add hot water... love the cinnamony smell

Also.... Rise 'n shine is my good wake up tea in the mornings... need to order some more now!  www.bulkherbstore.com

Mama Sita, have you tried Yerba Mate?  The Mate Factor makes the best kind, steep twice as much for seven to ten minutes and it is bitter, has something like caffeine but without the bad jitters and addiction.  Definitely a wake up and can be flavored like coffee.  I drink a quart a day!
