Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Katie.   I'm married to a wonderful Polish man -- this is our first year of marriage, and I must say...we're having fun!   Grin  We're living in California right now, but not for long.  Soon we're off to MI.  I've got type I diabetes, and my husband is a massage therapist, with a B.S. in Health Sciences.  We met at a health program/seminar (where he worked) and know a couple things about health. And we definitely have a lot we want to learn.   I just checked out this forum for the first time today, and I LOVE it.  I've enjoyed reading so many of your ideas and "meeting" so many like-minded people.  I have to run, now...but I know I will be frequenting this place!

Hello Smiley

My name is Leah.  I am 36 years old, and I've been married to Ken for 13 years.  I am a saved believer in Jesus Christ since 2001 when my husband and I were led to Him through Mr. Pearl's bible tapes.  Our lives have changed dramatically since then.

We have 6 children.  Kenny is 12, Kyle and Kaitlyn are twins and are 10, Kevin is 4, and Megan and Melissa are 9 months old, our second set of twins Smiley  We have been homeschooling since we were saved in 2001.

I have a great interest in health, especially nutrition.  My son Kyle was diagnosed with asthma at age 2 and was in and out of the hospital with various respiratory problems.  We were given a nebulizer and some drugs and told to administer them daily.  After doing some research, I asked for an allergy test to which our then-doctor reluctantly agreed.

To make a long story short, Kyle tested allergic to soy which I then eliminated from our diet.  Within weeks the "asthma" had disappeared along with the bleeding eczema he'd suffered for years.  From that day on I have made it my goal to achieve good health through nutrition for my family.

I love to read and write.  I love to try out new things in the kitchen.  I have experiemented with dairy free, wheat free and sugar free cooking- sometimes all 3- and I've come up with ways to make that kind of food actually taste good!

We live on a small farm in Northern IL where we raise our children and some animals.  We have sheep, goats, a bunch of chickens and a couple of dogs.  Not bad for a couple of city kids Smiley

Well, that's me- I look forward to meeting you all and learning from you!!!

I really like this website! Around here I have no one who is like minded! homeschooling, eating well, herbs, training children, faithful husbands and wives!

Hello my name is Mary (31 years old) from West Virginia. I have a wonderful husband, Mr. Steady. He is more than words can describe, I love him. We just celebrated our fourth anniversary. We have 3 children. Kayla 10 Isaac 3 and Josiah 17 months.

Kayla is from a relationship before I met Jesus. My husband is the best Daddy to her. I thank Jesus everyday! My husband (also recently born again) in his past, had an abortion with a young lady. His baby would be exactly the same age as Kayla. He thinks she is a God sent to him.

The boys are wonderful little men just like Daddy. They love their big sister.

I was introduced to NGJ August of last year, Wow! What an eye opener for me. I was saved in a Pentecostal Church (which we still attend). Micheal Pearls teachings were so different than what I was used to. Rebecka say Thanks to your Dad for me! My struggle is gone! Our church is very focused on "works"... We have looked for another church but of no avail... my husband wants us to stay for now. We love the people so much. We are one of the youngest and most different couples in our church. Since I have started listening to Micheal Pearl (Romans- Sin No More- Mathew & others) they have seen a change in me. My pastor is "concerned about me". Deep down I really want to RUN... to another church where they believe like I do now. My husband wants to stay. I am not sure what is happening? My husband also is in agreement with ALL the teachings of Micheal Pearl. Please help me pray...

Thank you for all the great information! Nice to meet everyone! I am looking forward to learning from you!

I am SO glad to have found this site!  It is such a comfy place to visit and you all are interested in the same things that I am...I'm sure I'll be learning lots here.

Well, my husband and I have been married for 19 years.  He works out of our home as an appraiser and builds houses with our boys in his spare hours.  We have always homeschooled our 16yod, 13yos, 8yos and 4yos.  God has taught me more through our homeschooling years (about my character and lack thereof) than I have taught my kids and I am very grateful for that.

I have been trying to learn about living a healthier lifestyle for the last couple of years.  I will be getting my first raw milk in a couple of weeks and look forward to making yogurt and some cheese.  We're planning our raised bed garden right now...can't wait to get started though, as we live in Montana, we just had snow late last week so all we can do right now is to get things prepared.  I don't know a lot about herbs at this point but would like to learn more.

I grew up in church...was there everytime the doors were open...and yet was only saved last fall through listening to Mr. Pearl's Romans teaching.  I always knew that I was missing something, but could never figure out what.  Last summer I asked God to show me what I was missing or I would just have to stop pretending that the religion that I was following was worth anything and just be un-religious.  I knew that that was not a viable option...I have always known that God existed and had loved Him in a way, but didn't know the true message of the gospel and so it was impossible for it to be powerful in my life.  It brings tears to my eyes to think that I was always so close and yet still unsaved.  The way is truly narrow.

Oh, anyway, I'm writing way too much.  I'm so looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Laurie,

I'm so glad you're here.  I'm Melissa and have also been married for 19 years.  I have three children, ages 17, 14, & 11.  I have homeschooled for the past 10 years.  My husband has his own sub-contracting business doing trim and staircases in new construction homes.  My son, the 14 year old, has been working with him for the past 4-1/2 years.  Welcome to WellTellMe!  Smiley

I'm so excited about this site.  It is wonderful to be able to chat with others who are in similar situations to my own.    I am a 31 year old mom of three young children ages 5, 3, and 2.  My husband and I have been married for 9 years.
I have already learned so much from the posts.  I am amazed at how much I need to rethink what I have been doing.  I have been doing all the things everyone knows they are supposed to do, like getting their children vaccinated and taking them to the doctor instead of using my own God-given common sense.  I am so thankful for all of you who are willing to post on all of these topics.  I feel as though I am being mentored by you.  I've also been so thankful for the ministry of NGJ because they have taught me to rethink all I thought I knew from the "experts" on how to raise children.  Like some of the earlier posts, I know I still don't have all of it sorted out and I know I'm still missing the mark in many areas, but we are making changes as we come to understand what we need to do.  I'm so glad that I will have the information that is being given on this site.

Greetings.  I am Kansas Girl's husband.  She did a great job introducing us, so I won't repeat anything she said.  I have a habit of repeating things that she says and making it appear as though it was my idea-- Grin.  She doesn't appreciate that.  I will say that I am 32 years old and a type I diabetic.  I have been since I was 16.  I am originally from Lancaster County, PA (which is Amish country USA), but I am not Amish.  My wife thinks I am from another planet sometimes, because I say things a little "different" than she does.  I haven't read a lot of the postings on this blog, but I have appreciated the Godly wisdom that is here.  I decided that I wanted to be part of it, so here I am.

A little bit more about me, I love to hunt and fish.  I am a computer junkie and am trying to become more proficient in database and web programming (Gabe, you've done a great job with this site; if you have any tips you want to throw my way I'll catch 'em).  I enjoy playing golf and basketball.  I enjoy spending a lot of my time with my family which is part of the reason I want to get into computer and/or web programming.  I want to do it from home, so I can be around my family more.  I also feel that there is ministry opportunity involved in the web as is evident with this site.  Anyway, that's a little bit about me.  I'm really looking forward to being involved in this forum.

Hello!  I guess this is the place to introduce myself?

I'm Lisa.  I am the mom of 5 kids ranging in age from 15 - 4, and the wife of a wonderful man who is a teaching elder at our church.  We firmly believe that it is our job to train up our children, and so we've always homeschooled, and almost always kept them in church with us.

I'm fairly new on this quest for better health, and look forward to reading and learning more from everybody here.

This is a terrific forum- thank you for building it.  I am quite glad and heartened to hear my wife be excited about what she is learning from this site.  It looks like it is off and running to a very large start.  Well done.

What about me?  Not much to tell really, Im just happy to be here.  Most of our info has been put on here by my wife: fivewittletids

I think the only thing left to mention is that 4 of the 7 of us take Christian TaeKwonDo, and that has blessed us greatly.  I have begun to help teach and it is quite enjoyable to see the kids overcome their "giants" of doubt and fear, and get some excellent exercise to boot.  We get a real kick out of it  Cool

G

EDIT: My wife thinks I should share some of my interests which are a bit different to say the least- who cares about normal anyway??

1) Martial Arts- Christ centered
2) Computers- websites, forums, - I REALLY want to know more about Linux than I do, although I have made my PC dual boot with Windows/linux a number of times before
3) Brew beer- a real novice here- I use a simple kit (Im gonna learn to make wine soon)
4) Roasting coffee- I use a little computerized coffee roaster
5) Real money- i.e. gold/silver/alternative currencies- one of my very involved hobbies- I am working on a pet project to create a community money that has enduring value and has common appeal.
6) I want to learn a lot more about herbology- this is a terrific site to get a lot of source and recommendations for this research.
7) The Philosophy of Early American History- the unrevised version that deals with the truth of the matter, and isnt supplanted by the PC police

Hi!  What a wonderful site!  I love to read all the introductions!  My name is Heather.  I have a wonderful husband, Jon, and four beautiful boys, or should I say handsome!  Gabriel is 9, Seth is 6, Eli is 3, and Silas is 5 mo.  We live on 7acres in Oregon and just got a couple of cows.  We have a dog and chickens and plan on raising more pigs soon.  My husband has seen too many children not do well from being homeschooled, so they go to public school which thankfully is small.  It's really too bad that he doesn't get to see all the success stories of homeschoolers around the US, but I'm not fighting this issue anymore.  I trust God now and know that it is more honoring to Him to let it go and just know what is going on with my kids as much as possible.  I believe that with God's help  they will be okay if I continue to parent as He wants me to.  I love No Greater Joy and the training books.  I was not doing well with them for awhile though but now I'm getting back on track and the consistency is paying off!  Praise the Lord!  I'm thankful for the blood of Jesus to cover me in my weakness.  I am learning so much and am so happy because of it!
Thank you for all the wonderful advice and topics.  What a help!

Hello All,

I'm Debbi, married to my incredible hubby, Tom, for 13 years and we have 6 kiddos, ages 11, 8, 6, 4, 21 months, and 3 months.  We live in the middle of Washington state where we homeschool and run a natural foods co-op from our home.  Tom also owns and operates his own construction business.

We have been working towards getting back to the basics with our health for awhile, but have been actively seeking more knowledge in this area as of late.  I have already gleaned some very useful information here and hope to be able to share and learn more as time permits..... seems we're always busy anymore, but an occasional cup of tea learning great information at the computer is time wells spent!

Best of health to all,
Debbi

Hello, Everyone, I'm praising God for this site!

I'm Wendy, & my Handsome Hubby & I homeschool our 3 boys... ages 7.5, 5, & 2.5.  I've dealt with various health issues for years  & tend to go back and forth between western medicine (covered by insurance) and various alternative therapies (which add up quick $$).  Lately, I've been trying some home remedies, but am inconsistent with those... I think my problem is that I know enough to not blindly trust the doctor but I don't know enough to know what I should be doing.  Undecided  I looking forward to learning more and continuing toward a more natural way of living!!

Nice to meet you all!!

Hi!
My name is Christy and I just received my Super Mom vitamins a few minutes ago!  I, too, am a mom who struggles with a lack of energy.  Especially with three boys. Cheesy I am 27-years-old with four children.  A little girl who went to be with the Lord last year, and three bouncing, rambunctious boys.  AJ is 5, Gideon is 3, and Joshua 10 weeks old.  I was saved at the age of nine and grew up as a pastors daughter.  The Lord blessed me with a wonderful preacher husband who now works with my Dad.  By the way, if any of you are interested they have a radio broadcast on American Voice Radio on Monday and Tuesday nights.  It comes on at 5:00pm AZ time. It's called The Covenantor's Call.
I'm very excited about all the topics that are discussed on this sight.  Any insight on how to keep your children's room clean?  I've tried many different ways, but they still pull everything out of their drawers to look for their "favorite" shirt.  To clean it each day takes several hours,  I've worked with them on picking up things in other parts of the house, but their room is our problem area.  Any thoughts?

Updated 7/28/07

I want to share in this thread to say how much I have have enjoyed this forum! I came to it through beeyoutiful.com which I read about in the NGJ newsletter.

I've been married to an outstanding Mr. Steady since '92 and we've been blessed with 9 children, 8 boys and one girl! That makes me sound old and experienced Undecided, but I'm only 35 and am loving the process of learning all I can about taking care of my precious family. My hubby and I were raised to look to the Dr. as the authority in health issues and to the pastor in spiritual issues, so now we are considered a little radical by some family and friends for taking responsibility ourselves in making decisions for our family's health and spiritual well-being. But I have never been happier in my life!  Cool

We live on a small farm in WI with a variety of animals and have lots of "stuff" going on all the time because of the boy's many projects and experiments. I'm kept busy just keeping them all clothed and fed and any spare minutes I have now and then are spent on research. I'm also dh's secretary for our home business.

Thank-you to all the busy moms and dads who have taken time to share their personal experiences and things they have learned! My man has also enjoyed reading some of these posts.

WOW!  This forum is the BEST!  It is nice to find other Christians who use herbs and are nerds at it like me!! He he hee!
I found out about this website through the recent NGJ newsletter.  Now, I can stop harassing Rebekah at home for all of her advice Smiley

It has taken me two days to read all about you ladies and gentlemen, so here is me:

I am a 32 year old from north central OHIO.  I have been happily married for 9 years.  We have two children:   an 12 year old daughter and an eight year old son.  We want more children desperately, but the Lord seems to have other plans.

We currently live in the city, but long for the country.  Hoping to one da be able to sell our house and buy land.  We home school and have since I married my union electrician husband, who is 32.  I will try to get him to join this forum, too.  We have been home churching for over six years, and with a few couples whom we met on the NGJ directory.

I found NGJ as a single parent with my daughter(my husband has since adopted her) in 1999, and love the Pearl's like my own family.  They are a blessing to us for a multitude of reasons!

I got saved at 19 whilst pregnant with my daughter.  But I really understood true Bible doctrine for the first time, at age 24, while my husband and I listened to Mike Pearl's teachings.  I grew up a city girl and used to make fun of those FFA kids.  Now, I love all things country.  I love to:  garden(still learning and making mistakes), study herbs, fermenting foods, crocheting, pass out Christian tracts, sing, raising animals, and read, read, and more reading!

I am looking forward to learning with everyone else about health and herbs.  I have been reading a lot of past posts already, and I will be looking forward to helping one another.

Hi,
I'm new to the forum thing too.  I learned about it through reading about the Supermom supplements.  I just got mine in today.  I'm hoping tomorrow I'll start feeling better.  This is my fourth pregnancy and I just don't remember feeling this lethargic and bloated.  My husband says I'm forgetful too because he said I was worse.

We've just sold our house, moved in with my in-laws, and are getting out of debt.  We're saving to build a house and live debt free.

Thanks for the welcome!  I heard about the website through Steph Tallent(sp?).  I had e-mailed beeyoutiful.com a question concerning Supermom and she kindly replied and answered the question!  She also mentioned the great topics at welltellme.com.  I finally looked it up...and was hooked.  I have been a guest for quite a while and finally decided to take the plunge and join  Cheesy  I don't know if I can add any knowledge to the forum, but I have enjoyed learning from others.   Smiley

P.S.  About the wide open spaces...the stars at night are breathtaking!

Hi, this is Janice and i am from South Texas. I am new to this board, and so not sure where to post this. I am wife to my dh Michael going on 22 years this Oct, and we have 7 sons and 1 daughter ,and a sweet little lamb on the way to nurture. I am due in December. We homeschool and homebirth when ever we can. There is a really good Christian book on Natural childbirth that i have found to be a rare treasure and gem in the midst of all the books and such on the subject. It is called "The Joy of Natural Childbirth" by Helen Wessel. It has helped bless me and my husband for many years, and still we never tire from reading it with each new babe on the way. There is always something new it seems. I also just learned of a good book on Nutrition during the childbearing years called "The Natural Healthy Pregnancy" by Shonda Parker. I just recenly requested a copy and looking forward to reading, learning and applying   the good things i learn for baby and me. I highle recommend these 2 books for every Mom whether this is your first time, or many times. You can find the book by Shonda Parker by visiting www.inhishands.com  They are a Christian family home based business, and they seem to be very helpful. May it bless you as well. I just purchased my first 2 bottles of "SuperMom" tabs ,so if anyone who is expecting wants to share testimonies with me of how they have helped you, Please do? God richly bless you, Janice
