Wow,
I'm totally amazed at the great people that have joined this forum, and the way you all meet each other's needs by sharing experiences and research. Frankly - I'm curious! I want to know more about you!

First I'll introduce myself;

I'm Rebekah, aka: BeeyoutifulGirl, wife to Gabriel (genius/webmaster), and mommy to Joseph Courage 5, Ryshoni Joy 3, and Hannah Sunshine 18 months. I'm a friend of StephTallent (who also frequents this forum) and I help out with the Beeyoutiful.com online store by writing articles.
Like some of you, I love to research and find out how to take care of my family. I've got SO much to learn, and I'm excited to discover that I will be able to learn right here on WellTellMe!!!
THANK YOU so much for sharing your experiences, for researching, and just being interested in helping other people.

So... who's next???

Nice to meet you! Cheesy

I'm a 35 year-old wife of 11 years [to The Spaminator Wink] and mother of 3.  I was raised on instant macNcheese and doritos by a divorced father.  I knew nothing about healthy living up until recently.  I started researching topics as problems arose about 8 years ago and things just kind of bloomed from there.  I'm an expert on nothing, except maybe research.  I know a little bit about a lot of things, but I'm always eager to learn more.

I hope you'll excuse me, if I don't publicly post personal information (names, places, etc.) as I'm very cautious about sharing those things over the internet.  Hubby thinks I'm a bit crazy about it, but I figure better safe than sorry. Roll Eyes  If you want to get to know me better, I have a personal blog http://www.xanga.com/zippyboot that I like to post a lot of different things to.  I don't diary much, it's more of a place for me to share recipes, thoughts, ideas, and research information.

I'm married to a 2nd shifter, so I am usually on the PC very late at night.  It gets awfully quiet around here after the kids go to bed and I'm waiting 'till 2am for hubby to come home.   Roll Eyes

Hubby now works a double from 5pm - 6am (sometimes later) and I try to keep normal hours.  I'm usually in bed by 11pm and up by 8am CST to greet hubby when he gets home from work. Grin

I'm also a moderator in this forum.  If you're new to this forum I recommend you check out this link before you get started.

Welcome to WellTellMe (README FIRST)

Nice to meet you.

My name is Amy (aka Sunny).  My nickname has been Sunny since elementary school when I made a tape of myself singing "You Are My Sunshine" in quite a dramatic voice.

Anyway, I was saved when I was 20 years old.  I was raised in a loving, but not Christian home (please pray for my dad, mom and sister).  I met my husband in college and he started bringing me to church with him and that was where I got saved.  A year and a half later we got married.  His name is Roy and he is my best friend.  The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways, as I was not even a Christain when we met, yet now we have a better marriage than anyone I know (I'm not exaggerating.  He tells the guys at work that we don't fight and they don't believe him, but it's true!)  We now have 4 little blessings from God- Roy III (6), Gideon (4), Emma (3) and Audrey (9 months).  I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom and it's been great so far.  We're really just beginning, I guess.  In fact, if anyone else homeschools, it would be great to start a thread sharing ideas, tips, etc., huh?

I'm very excited about this forum and count it quite a blessing to have made the acquaintance of you all.  I look forward to getting to know you better!   Grin

Hi!  I am so excited to be a part of this group, as I am also actively seeking ways to educate myself on being more healthful, and taking better care of myself and my family!

I am Tanya, living in TX.  I am 36 years old, married to the love of my life, Scott. We have 4 precious children: identical twin boys Patrick and Matthew, turning 8 years old in 12 days, a rather precocious Wink 3 yr old daughter, Natalie, and a dear, jolly-natured little 20 month old son, Jason. We also have a little one due September 1st!!!  The Lord just keeps blessing us and filling our table with olive plants!  Smiley

I so much want to learn  more about herbs, natural remedies and preventions, and ways to avoid many of the health pitfalls that most Americans seems to expect as they age!  I want to lose some weight, and create better habits for myself....maybe I should start with getting MORE SLEEP?? heehee

Going to bed now!  G'night ladies, and looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello everyone!  My name is Andrea and I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of 3 little boys.  Josh 6, Will 4 and Ben 16 mos.  My husband is a police officer and amazing man!  We both feel passionately about natural remedies and I look forward to learning more about herbs.
We live in Montana and are trying our hand at raising all our own food.  We have a huge garden (any canning advice out there?) and are planting a large berry patch this week.  We've raised chickens and rabbits for awhile and added pigs last year.  Our most recent addition are dairy goats!  As we just have an acre, this is about as populated as we can get.
For anyone who has read 'Created to be his Helpmeet', my man is a visionary through and through so it's been quite a ride for this city girl to transform into a farmgirl Smiley
BTW, LOVE the idea about a homeschool thread!  We have the Abeka cirriculum but it's a bit too structured for us.  I think my boys are the type that will learn math by counting how many worms they can catch to feed the baby chicks  Roll Eyes

Hello.  My name is Denise.  I am a homeschooling mom to two wonderful children (16 yo son, 14 yo daughter).  I am married to Garry, an absolute dream (24 years this June).  We are not exactly health conscientious.  We aren't junk food junkies; we're just packaged-food/frozen-food junkies!  We're wanting to change.  Garry has just been put on blood pressure medication.  He has an extremely stressful job:  self-employment!  He also must have a sensitivity to sodium.  It really causes his BP to rise.  I'm hoping to learn healthier cooking so I can pass this on to our children.  I work part-time as a stenographer.  Life is a little hectic; so something quick is usually something not so healthy.  I do want to try...I do want to try...I do want to try.  Unhealthy eating is just so much easier!!

Hi Everybody!  Grin

It is so wonderful to get to "meet" you here!

I am the wife of the most wonderful man in the world.  We will be celebrating our first Anniversary this May.  No little ones yet but we are looking forward to them when they come!  We are staying super busy with Beeyoutiful.  I handle the packing of the boxes and will very likely be the one you talk to if you call!  So now you know who to blame if your order is packed wrong.  Roll Eyes  Wink  We really appreciate everyone's patience with us over the past couple of weeks as we have been trying to juggle many things at once and handle the flood of recent interest.  If I'm not able to make it to the phone, or am already assisting someone else when you call please be patient.  I am doing my very best to return all phone calls by the next day at the latest.  Smiley

There has been such a great atmosphere of encouragement shown here!  I love how we are all able to share together our knowledge and experiences with each other.

I'm loving here on this forum!!! Hello Everyone...I'm "FlappyEars" from Tennessee.  I'm a 34 y.o. mother of two...I've already gotten some really good ideas from this forum.  For one thing, my son and I have been passing thrush back and forth for the last 2-3 months.  We've been treated with conventional meds. and see improvement as long as we stay on it.  But after 4 bottles of drugs and persistant nipple/mouth pain I'm definitely ready for some new ideas!!  Thanks everyone for the thrush posts.   Pregnancy, childbirth and MOTHERHOOD have done a number on my body.  Do any of you other moms feel "old as the hills"Huh   Roll Eyes
Well, motherhood is great...just exhausting beyond my wildest dreams.  Grin  I'm 5 months postpartum and look about 5 months pregnant...hehehe!  I'm about to get on an "exercise program"  and try to alter a few bad eating habits, so I think I've discovered this forum at just the right time!!  Good to "meet" all of you and looking forward to some good discussions. Hello!  I'm 26 and mother of 4 (with another on the way) from North Carolina.  My children are 7, 5, 3, and 1.  They are such little joys!  They keep my in stitches!  They also keep me busy, hence the name "bizymum."  I have a wonderful husband, we've been married 8 years.  Life with him has never been dull, that's for sure!  There's always a new adventure!  We homeschool our children, which has been so fun.  I love watching them learn and discover.  I recently received my order from Beeyoutiful and am absolutely thrilled with the products.  We're always looking for new and better ways to keep our family healthy, although we still have alot to learn.  And I am definitely looking for to a healthier pregnancy, with more energy!  Already I feel like I have learned so much from this forum, and I am looking forward to learning even more!   Smiley

Hi Everyone!
My name is Layla and I found this site through Beeyoutiful.com, which I discovered through No Greater Joy.  (I'm the one with all the crazy questions about Spirulina! Roll Eyes)  I'm 24 years old and have been a Christian for about 5 years and a homeschooler for 1.  My oldest is 5, then 3, then 18 mos., and I'm 14 weeks pregnant.   About 4 months ago my family moved from NY to PA.  I would like very much to be healthier than I am, for the sake of my children but our budget and the availability of raw and organic foods prevent me from doing too much.  In the meantime, I focus on avoiding sweets, cooking from scratch (to avoid heavily processed food) and using whole grains.  I am only just starting to trust herbal solutions, after a lifetime of being warned about their dangers due to lack of government regulations.  Then I decided that I would rather trust my own research than the government's!  I am so excited to learn from all of you ladies as you share your knowledge!  God bless you all!

Wow! Who would have ever thought I could tell a little about myself without sounding like the oddball! I'm the 27 year old mom of 3 kids- 5, 3, and 7 months who are now second generation homeschoolers. My kids have food allergies, and I got my Clinical Nutitionist Certification last year so I could feel good about feeding them well. I was amazed to discover how much healing can be brought about with FOOD! We use herbs too, and we've treated a number of childhood illnesses (including pnumonia) naturally with wonderful results.
Life has never been busier. I am very interested in ideas for working smarter instead of harder in the household challenges of everyday life. I am not efficient by nature. I am especially uncertain as to how to intergrate my kids into the household runnings. I have a lot to do, and they slow me up, but I want them in my routine... great to "meet" everyone!  Dara

Hi Rebekah and everyone else,
My name is Shonni and I am a stay at home, homeschooling mother of 8 children, ages 16-1.  Five of our children are adopted; a girl from China, boy from S. Korea, boy from Vietnam, boy from Tulsa, OK., and our latest, a little girl from Liberia, W. Africa.  My husband and I are passionate about orphan ministry also.  We live on 5 gorgeous acres in Colorado.
I became interested in alternative health years ago with a chronic sickness that my doctor basically told me I would have to live with.  After three difficult pregnancies, my health went further down and I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism.  I guess you could say God has used these struggles to teach me about being responsible with my health, and the health of my family.  I find it fascinating to study and learn new things, like recently, making tinctures.  Thank you all for your advice and help.
Have a blessed day,
Shonni

Hi Everybody!  My friend StephTallent told me about this site, but I forgot to check it out until tonight. Wink

My name is Danae and I currently live in Wyoming. I'm 28 yrs old and contentedly single. Smiley  I lead a very interesting and exciting lifestyle with lots of adventures and travel.  Travelling overseas has inspired me to learn more about nutrition and healthy choices so that I can be more effective in my service and also help others have healthier lives.  I have taken some midwifery and lactation counselling training (not currently certified with either) and am hoping to begin a Master Herbalist course later this year, Lord willing.  I worked at an orphanage in the Bahamas for 2-3 months at a time over the past 3 years and it was there that I really began to learn and understand more about nutrition and herbs. (The first time I went down there it was a huge shock to drink barley green or eat wheat grass first thing in the morning!!!  Shocked  I was mentally prepared for it after that though, thankfully!)  I'm really excited about all the fun, fellowship and learning I'm going to have on this site.  Nice to meet all of you!  Smiley

Hey everyone,

I'm Steve Tallent. My wife told me I needed to post something here. So, I'm posting something here (albeit 3 days later just as a show of protest Wink). Steph and I got married last May, and she is an amazing woman. Anybody that calls into Beeyoutiful will experience that first hand. She has all of the happy, bubbly personality of the stereotypical blonde, but she's smart, intuitive, sensitive and caring too. Not only that, she has a high tolerance for ME. HEHE. This is an essential quality for life with me. She makes life really wonderful in so many ways.

I grew up in a fairly health conscious home, got trained as an EMT, spent an entire year doing medical studies, mostly anatomy and physiology, but a lot of clinic work too, and even observed some surgeries. Since then I've done research into nutrition and natural remedies, and most importantly, how to be HEALTHY.

I do the management of Beeyoutiful, keep the books, hang onto the money, and pretty much just hunch over computer try to look busy. Haven't had to try hard lately. I'm also a field engineer and systems analyst for various computer-type thingies. I'm working on a degree in business. Guess I'm kinda doing it backwards, running the businesses first and then going to get the degree that "qualifies" to do it. Oh well. Hope you all enjoy this site.

Gabriel is the webmaster, and site builder of beeyoutiful.com and welltellme.com. He also built NoGreaterJoy.org, and many others! Yes, he is a genius, but better than that, he is a great daddy and a wonderful husband. I can't believe how great it is to be married to him! Gabe also likes to play soccer, eat mediterreanean food, jump on the trampoline with his 3 kids all at once,  study the Bible, and pray in the middle of the night. Gabe (and Steve too) are crazy about Jesus Christ, and that is the driving force behind Beeyoutiful and WellTellMe.

And it is great to meet all of you!

Hey ya'll! I'm Charis aka Charis. I'm married to a command/visionary. LOL Never a dull moment with him around. We have been married for 10 1/2 years and live near the Alabama/ Florida line. I'm 28 and he's 31. We are definitely the oddballs in our community. You would think living in the country there would be more large families. Anyway, we have 5 kids. Mckinley (9)future teacher, Brandon (7)future inventor who will need a very good wife  Cheesy, Madelyn(5) a future herbalist, Mauri Hannah(3 1/2) miss dramatic, Brady(5 months) a little ham Kiss. Now here is where I'm the oddball on this sight. My kids go to public school!!! Shocked It's a k-12 school with a graduation class of 35. We still have prayer. Most of the teachers go to our church. I couldn't ask for a better situation. I will however, pull them out as soon as my husband gives the OK Wink. We do homeschool the whole time they are at home. We have to count eggs. Grow veggies, look at the stars, sort laundry, measure in fractions, build stuff. My seven year old is a visionary and a future inventor. Last week our sport of choice, courtesy of Brandon, was lawn surfing. He rigged up an old boogie board to a piece of rope and tied it to our golf cart and walah! Hours of entertainment albeit not very safe entertainment. No major injuries though. Went through a boogie board, laundry hamper and a cooler though as each one wore out. Oh, they wore their goggles too. Cheesy Our friends tease us that we are trying to turn our 1A school sports program into a 2A single handedly with all our kids. About me, I am a health nut like my mom used to be(had to underline that just in case she visits this sight and reads this maybe I can convict her a little).  I'm gradually increasing good food and decreasing junk. My kids love it. My husband's getting there. He still likes his chips and dip and if I could just get him off the Sunkist soda...... Well that's another story. I've been reading a lot of Pearl books and love them.  Like some of ya'll I have to keep rereading them Grin I grew up with a very naggy mother(but loving), who homeschooled 7 kids, and a very layed back dad. Hard to break those taught habits. My husband is anything but layed back.  Cheesy He loves the book Created and will openly tell me when I need to go back and read it again.  Roll Eyes Well I love this sight and I'll quit now. P.S. Don't get out much. ~Charis

WOW!This has been an exciting time reading about all ya'll. (Arkansas phrase)  Wink I am a 26 yo mother of 4, ages 8, 7, 3, and 1. I have a wonderful husband who works 3rd shift at a motor company, is a pastor, and does whatever else needs to be done. He stays very busy. We homeschool all our children, no set curriculum, whatever works. My last 2 babies were born at home with my husband to catch, midwife didn't get there in time. I would recommend home birth for EVERY woman if possible. We live out in the sticks and love it, I don't get out much, so my kids will find any animal in the area to play with! (worms, snakes, spiders, possums) We have not vaccinated our youngest children at all, and do not plan to. We love the Pearls guidance to help us train our children. I am really trying to change our eating habits, and trying to learn more about herbs. I have not used many, and finding them in our area is a chore. So, thanks for all your help so far, I look forward to learning so much more!!

LOL Charis,

My husband also tells me when I need to read "Created to be His Help Meet" again.  I'm on my 9th time already and have given a case away to family and friends.  Anyway...

I'm Melissa.  I live in Mississippi now due to Hurricane Katrina.  We lost our home in southern Louisiana.  We lived right on the Mississippi River and loved it.  We are adapting to Mississippi life.  Wherever God leads is where we want to be.

I have 3 children, Ashleigh (17), Jimmy (14), and Heather (11).  I have been married 19 years this month.  My husband Jim is a command man with a capital C.  He NEVER takes the trash out.  Wink He owns his own company, Osbourne & Son Custom Trim.) He is the CYO (children & youth organization) Director at our church.  He is also the most amazing man I have ever met.  I am the woman I am today because of him.  He would disagree and try to reverse it, but I know the truth.  Without him and his loving leadership, I would be a mess.  He wishes he could have had a Papa like Michael Pearl, but since has decided to become one.  He has been my husband's source (of course the Bible is his main source) for training our family for quite a few years now.

We have homeschooled our children for the past 10 years.  We have looked to the Pearl family for guidance for about half of that and continue to do so.  Ashleigh is graduating this year and we are having fun with the festivities. She doesn't believe in dating, and wants her first kiss to come on her wedding day. She has her eye on a young man who has his eye on her.  My husband's eyes are on both of them!  Wink We ordered Young Adults & Marriage to prepare ahead of time.  We are very new to this part of child training. Shocked   Ashleigh plays guitar and piano in our children's ministry.

My son Jimmy has been working side by side with his dad since age 10.  You won't see my husband without seeing Jimmy with him.  They are inseparable.  He just got a raise.  Grin  He is saving to make his first land purchase which should be within a year.  I am very proud of him.

My Heather is a mom and wife in the making.  She loves cooking and cleaning.  When she was 4, I told her she had long piano fingers.  She informed me that they were not piano fingers, but rather fingers to carry 7 cups of hot chocolate to her 7 children.  Cheesy  She acts out Bible stories and is our children's ministry ventriloquist.  Our only hope in teaching our children is that they become all that God has planned for them.

The one thing I have learned through homeschooling my children is this...If I see something in my children that I don't like...I need to seek God to change it in me first.  Our children are just extensions of us.  There was one point in time when my children didn't obey and were sassy.  The biggest reason and the hardest to face was...I didn't listen to my husband and I was a sassy woman.  When I sought God to change it in me, I didn't notice that it was also working it's way out of my children as well.  God is faithful!  Smiley

Ugh...I just read over this post and it sounds as if I am boasting and preachy.  It isn't my intention to do either.  Please know that a lot of blood, sweat and Pearls went into my family.  We are reaping the benefits now and you will too!!!

Hey all.  I am new here, but blessed to have found this forum.  I have been a faithful "follower" of no greater Joy for about 10 years.  I have LOVED all the help and advice I have recieved!  I am married to a GREAT guy and my best friend for 15+ years, We have 3 kids 10, 8, and 6.  We have always homeschooled, and pray we always can..

I was raised in a divorsed house, mom remarried, and had a really hard time growing up.  I was saved after I got pregnant at 18.  I put the baby up for adoption, married my husband and moved forward.  I have and continue to struggle with how to live and raise godly children.  That is why I have LOVED NGJ for so long, as it is a example of how a family should look like.  I still struggle ALOT, as I am trying to learn Godly ways myself, and still train Godly children.  But we are doing o.k.  I study the pearls information, listen to the studies, listen to the audio books ALL THE TIME, and LOVE the created book!!  I am so blessed by the straight forward teaching.  Seems like there just is not much of that around anymore.  Women, even in the chrch, still think its o.k. to not be Godly women!!   But that is about it.  Glad to be here, and learn from you all.  I read the posts, and feel like there is alot of like-mindedness here.  I may not be there yet, but agree with all the ladies, trying to help the health, and spiritual growth of their family!  Thanks all, <><  AKA Pecharka5
P.S.  You may hear lots of questions about my oldest, 10 year old, daughter.  She has been a special challenge from day 1!  I have written Debi about her a few times.... Thanks<><

Hi! I'm the mother of four.5,4,2, and 1yr. Girl, boy, girl, boy. We live in a very rural area. Everyone here thinks we're crazy for wanting to homeschool " our schools are great" is what everyone here thinks. My husband and I have been married for seven years this July. We both came from very large families (his mother had eight brothers and sisters and my mother had eight brothers and sisters) and they all live within 20 miles. So we are under a microscope. I'm really glad I found this site because I know I'll need engouragement. Please keep us in your prayers. We need 'em!

Hi!

I was so happy to find this site!! I've read Created To Be His Help Meet several times and I've also enjoyed reading To Train Up A Child. I love the Pearls stuff!!

I'm 26 years old & single. I would LOVE to be married and have a houseful of kids! Just gotta find a man first...  I live at home with my parents, not because I have to, but because I think it's the best place for me right now. I have two brothers.

I teach a 1st and 2nd grade Sunday class of nearly all boys (wow! are they tough to keep up with!!). I also teach English (as a second language) and help with the youth at my church. We're going to Guatemala next week on a missions trip!

I'm a registered nurse in a large teaching hospital on an acute care floor (the night shift... Tongue)

Well I'm looking forward to learning a lot here!!

God Bless,
Jessica  Cheesy

I missed this part of the website before I posted my questions!  I am SO thrilled with this site and have already shared with Rebekah that it seems like everything I have asked for guidance with in my prayer requests (birth control, cleanses, homeschooling) have been addressed in some of these postings!  So thank you all!  :-)  GOD IS SO GOOD!  I am currently a widowed (soon to be remarried!) 29 year old woman (soon to be 30) with a four year old son (soon to be 5) I gave my heart completely to Christ 5 years ago April 23rd (the day my husband past away) and the journey since that moment has been UNBELIEVABLE!!!!  God has taken this terribly controlling, independent, feisty (and incredibly depressed) businesswoman and flipped me upside down!  Not only has HE filled me with love and hope - He is slowly transforming my character and helping me to understand His purpose and that has brought me so much more JOY.  AND THEN he sends me an incredible man (who I am marrying in two months) to practice all these new character traits :-)  I am SO happy to be able to connect with women whose focus is #1 GOD & #2 FAMILY! :-)  Bobbie

Hi Lanabrooke,

I'm from Mississippi also.  We are in Poplarville.  I'm a 39 year old mother of 3.  We have homeschooled for the past 10 years.  I have a daughter 17, a son 14, and another daughter 11.  It is so nice to have you here.

Hi Everyone!
I'm Danise from Oregon.  I am a 39, married (2nd time) mother of 4 boys.  They are Christopher (19), Austin (16), Micah (3) and Isaiah 53 (8 mo.). My grandson is also 8 mo.  We get lots of "comments" about the baby's name.  In fact, I lost a sister over it.  Too much for her to handle!  (She's not a believer....yet.  I keep praying for her).

I've been married 6 years to a Mr. Visionary.  Hence we do not celebrate Easter, Christmas, etc. because of the pagan origins.  He is my Jr. High School Sweetheart and an avid studier of the Word.  Fortunately, we have a few families that are "like-minded" that we can get together with.  We quit going to church about a year and a half ago. Instead, we do home fellowships and also a Bible study once a week with like minded families.  I teach the kids about the Feasts of the Lord and the Biblical Holidays.

I homeschooled my then 8th grader and that was my first experience with homeschool.  I loved it, he hated it.  He actually had to DO the work!  Imagine that.  My older boys now live with their dad (very hard for me).  I run a licensed daycare in my home and we do preschool 3 days a week.  I am also the City Recorder (15 years now) of our very small town (400 peeps).  This is very part-time.  The Lord is changing my heart's desire though.  This will be my last year working.  We are looking for a place with a few acres to raise our own food and maybe sell some too  Smiley  Does anyone know if USDA regulates the sale of raw milk and other organic foods?

I've done lots of research on vaccinations.  I can't remember who was asking.  I started a thread called Vaccination: Do You or Don't you? for whoever is interested in discussing it.

I have really enjoyed this forum.  I am learning so much on home remedies.  It is so nice to meet all of you  Smiley

Hello...

Well, my name is Jessica and I love Jesus and try to live every day as He would want me to...I'm almost 20 (will be April 26th) and was homeschooled my whole life.  My dream is to be a wife/mother/help-meet, and though that hasn't happened yet, I'm trying to learn all that I can in the meantime.  I'm very interested in nutrition, food, natural healing, etc. so I was very excited to find this forum (which I found after reading the NGJ article on Spirulina/SuperMom)!

A little bit about what I'm doing at the moment...last September (2005) I moved to Thailand, planning to live and work ("teach English" to two- and three-year-olds at a Buddhist/Thai kindergarten and teach ballet...helping out a missionary couple who lived there) there until July 2006, but in November, my parents asked me to come home due to the threat of the avian flu...so now I'm working as a mother's-helper to a Christian family in Florida.

Hope you all have a glorious day!
