Hi Everyone,

As I've been "lurking" around this forum for weeks now, it is probably time for me to join and introduce myself! I am 23 years old, unmarried, and I recently moved back in with my parents and 3 younger (but taller) brothers in northwest Wisconsin. I grew up homeschooled and I vividly remember being excited about eating store bought bread because the only type my mom fed us was home made home ground whole wheat! Cheesy I love children and have worked with every age, as a nanny for a newborn to  parenting delinquent teens in a behavioral modification program. We found out about Created to be His Helpmeet from one of those packets advertising homeschool curriculum and from that learned about NGJ, Beeyoutiful, thebulkherbstore, and now this forum and 7xSunday. I have already been so encouraged by all of you and I am looking forward to having a voice here! It's so nice to meet you!

Updated 6/11/08  Grin:

My name is Jen, married to my husband (child & family counselor) for almost 11 years, and I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom to 4:

~9 year old daughter,
6 1/2  year old son,
4 1/2 year old son, and
6 week old bouncing baby boy.

I live in a small town in the very rural Upper Peninsula of Michigan (hence, the "Yooper" in my name--see below), and enjoy learning about herbs and their uses.  I'm a former social worker, and first generation believer.

I read about this site in the NGJ newsletter Smiley  I've loved learning how to treat eczema naturally, as well as make my own laundry soap, salves and tinctures.  I've also become competent at gluten-free cooking... Cool

And because I'm asked so often...  Grin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Yooper is a person who was born and raised or survives at least one complete winter in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Oops posted in the wrong spot.  I  am so excited to find this forum. My name is MIchelle and I am married to a wonderful loving man.  We have been married for almost 10 years. Grin Am so looking forward to our anniversary.  My DH is sacrificing greatly for the family by being  a truck driver.  There are no good jobs in our area so he is doing this for us.  I am so htankful for his sacrifice so I can be home with the children.  We have three boys and three girls.  David is 8 and is a great learner he loves to read and can read just about anything.  Having a hard time keeping him in books.  Levi is 6 and loves to learn using his hands.  Loves to fix things for mama.  He fixed the VCR when I could not figure out what to do.  He does not like book learning so school is a struggle.  Our youngest boy is Isaiah and he is 3.  Loves to be included with his big brohters play.   The oldest girl is Rebekah and she is 5.  She loves to color and create we are going to be teaching sewing this fall.  My next girl is Ruth Anne  who is 19 months.  She is stubborn and strong willed and I call her my iron butted child.  Currently I am struggleing to get her will.  She loves to snuggle and cuddle but does not want to be told what to do.  Our youngest girl is 3 months.  just starting to coo and just rolled over yesterday.
Well in case you could not tell  I love all of our children. I am praying that the Lord would see fit to give me a break from children for a little while.  Can not wait to start learning.  Thankyou for making this forum.  I know what hard work moderating can be.

I've been using this sight for awhile but never introduced myself! My name is Jessica and I live in Dorr, MI (not far from Grand Rapids) with my husband of almost two years. (August) We have a son, Jonah Christopher who was born on Labor Day 2006.  Grin I'm originally from upstate NY but moved here so my husband could finish his degree. He is a computer programmer for a company that creates software for schools. I just left my job at a residential treatment facility for abused and neglected kids to stay home with my son.  Shocked It's the first time I haven't had a "job" since I was 13, so I am looking forward to having time to do things for my family. We are trying to have a healthier lifestyle.
My husband and I love music and always have something playing in the house. (I actually met my husband because he was my guitar teacher! Wink ) We pray that God blesses us with many children and we are going to teach them all different instruments!
I've learned so much from this site and love the "relationships" that have developed. Smiley We have done so much to have a healthier lifestyle that I sometimes can't believe I used to enjoy eating Ramen noodles!! Now its garden fresh veggies, homemade bread, beet kvass and cabbage juice for us!!!!  Cheesy

Hi Jessica,
I just replied to your 'first time mom' post.  Then I saw your intro on the 'nice to meet you' page.  I see  you live in good ol' Michigan.  I live over in the thumb.  Born & raised. Congrats on your upcoming birth. Do you know if it is a boy or girl?  Well, I'd better get.  In my reply to your first time mom post I said I was going to go rest since the boys were sleeping.  Hmmmm guess I didn't get to it. Smiley  Well, take care and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.  Soak it up!  It'll never be the same again. Smiley

I'm Heidi- mother of 4. Noah 12yrs, Annabelle 7, George Byron 3, and Nolan 11 months. We currently live in the Shenandoah Valley of VA but are planning a move to Missouri as soon as God can get us out of here. We are going to 'take the plunge' and homestead. Seeing as all of my veggies die slow and very painful deaths, this should prove the most exciting adventure I've yet had! I'm married  to Andrew, a comand man with self proclaimed   "visionary tendencies".  He's an MK from the jungle in the Philippine Islands so living off of the land isn't new to him.  Wink

I was a card carrying member of the world and all of it's trappings before coming home to Christ at the age of 21. At that time I was a washed up ex-drug addict and single mother who'd lost custody and was living in my car.  But only God could see me and love me; and he picked me up, cleaned me up, and loved me up! Andrew was and is the only person who ever loved me in spite of me and for that he is the best man God ever created.

We are very new to the natural life, and I am so grateful to you all for sharing your knowledge with this "newbie".  I can't wait to be able to satiate my hunger for knowledge.

In Christ, ~Heidi

Hello everyone.  My name is Tara, and I live in Georgia with my wonderful husband, Jason, and our four children, Caleb (8 1/2),  Madelyn (6), Seth (2), and Jared (1).  My husband is a pastor and also works a full time job.  We homeschool our children, and I also manage a local crisis pregnancy center that I founded 5 years ago (volunteer, mostly work from home these days).  Wow, I didn't realize how busy we were until I actually typed it out.  Anyway, life is full and rewarding, and we wouldn't have it any other way!  The Lord has been so good to us.
I've been reading this forum for months and have learned so much already.  Nice to meet everyone!

Hi,

I was introduced to this site by a friend of mine and I really enjoy it!  I am a SAHM to 3 kids.  Ages 8, 7 and 5.  We have a home business so my hubby is around all day which we all love!  We homeschool and my youngest will be starting kindergarten this year.  I'd be lying to say I'm not a little apprehensive.  She can be quite a pistol!  I don't have much time for outside interests but I do love to sew and I enjoy health stuff.   I've been most thankful for the Pearl's child training info.   Grin

I've been taking care of my MIL for the past two years (she has a terminal illness) and the Lord has moved my brain from thinking AMA to thinking "the body can heal with good nutrition and supplements."  It's been a real eye opener for my family.  Especially my husband who was almost against "natural" stuff two years ago.  Not anymore!  For that I am so thankful.  I've learned so much caring for my MIL.  She was given 4-6 months to live and the only treatment available at that time was a brand new chemo on the market (can you say guinea pig?).  She chose to do natural therapies and so our journey bagan.  Today is exactly two years since her diagnosis and she's still doing fairly well.  I just wish the doctors will ask us what we're doing, but they don't care!  I can't get over that.  Oh, anyway, I enjoy learning as much as I can about taking care of my family naturally.

I look forward to visiting with you and getting to know you.   Cheesy

thanks to Armom (i think) for telling me about this part of the website....I have been posting crazy in the past two days since i linked here from beeyoutiful from NGJ! I LOVE THIS Cheesy

I feel like I already know Beka Joy just from reading NGJ for so long. Smiley  I feel like we are already friends

My name is Inga...don't mind you all knowing; however I may have some more private issues to post in the future and if i share this website with a friend i may not want her to know the dirty details/ is that silly?
anyhow, I am 31, married to the sexiest volunteer firefighter & tech. guy God ever made Wink we have two beautiful children Veronica is 5 and Morrison is 2. I am ready for more but my DH is not...he is ready to be done Cry Cry Cry  (please pray that God will change his heart and desire more children)
I started looking into living more naturally after being diagnosed with a disorder called estrogen dominance last year....this being caused by a multitude of things/ bovine growth hormone/ the hormones they put in chickens to fatten them up/ chemicals commonly found in lotions, makeup, shampoo, nail polish...pretty much every thing we use every day.
I felt a strong need to change everything in my household so my daughter did not have to deal with the same issues some day. So that is it in a nut shell...you can do a google search on estrogen dominance if you want more info on that; It has too many issues for me to go into that. (the estrogen dominance is also the reason i signed up to sell the daisy blue stuff i mention sometimes, but i am not here to sell....it is pretty cheap to sign up so you get the discount; that is the #1 reason i signed up...I don't have time to do "spa party's")

My desire here is to help you with the lessons God has taught me and to learn from the things that God has taught you.

P.S. Oh yeah, I am starting pre-school this fall  (homeschooling) any good curriculum suggestions?

My name is Rebekah Larson.  I am married to a wonderful Steady, strong visionary command man named Josh (thus the name, joshs_rebekah).  We have two girls, Ruth Elisabeth and Shalom Elkanah.  We recently moved to Pennsylvania, and I am now neighbors with Bajusabroad...PM me if you want to know how God orchestrated that one!

With another ministry I have been to Israel twice, Haiti once, and worked disaster relief in Lake Charles, Louisiana after Hurricane Rita.  My husband was in New Orleans doing Disaster Relief after Katrina with the same ministry.

I have learned SO much from this site, and from all of you.  I turn to you more than I turn to my Mom and sisters - and that is saying a WHOLE lot!  Thanks for all you do and know and are willing to share!

Hi All,
I am new here and thought I would start by introducing myself and found this message string.  My name is Renae, I am married to Tim my hubby of 5 years.  I have 2 children from previous marriage, Jacobi 8 and McKenna 6.  I have read and love most of the NGJ articles and tapes etc.  I feel that Micheal Pearl and the Grace of God rescued my husband and myself from a road of legalism about 3 years ago.  I found his book in Value Village of all places!  I was looking for a better way to train/raise my children.  I loved the book.  What insite!  I cannot say that I have been 100% consistent, but alot of what I learned was useful. I ordered his Sabbath Rest tape and we were shocked!  New baby christians and very impressionable I would say of our previous church.  Anyway, I wrote to Micheal and Debi after listening to the tape and they sent us their Galations tapes!  We were stunned again!    We made the decision to leave our previous church and have been searching for like minded families since.  I am a homeschooling mom and sometimes feel very overwhelmed.  Mainly, when my children are compared to other public school children.  But I try and remind myself that all those children have not had nearly the experiences that mine have been allowed with homeschool.   I am breeding rat terrier dogs and this alone has given my children many experiences in raising and caring for baby animals.  At this moment in time we are raising 3 baby wild bunnies.  Their silly mother placed her nest under our trampoline and I moved it to mow the grass.  Luckily it was lower than the blades.  We have been bottle feeding them for 2 weeks now.  Watching them grow and develop.  We also have a huge click beetle as well as a praying mantid and a huge moth and dragonfly pupaes and an adult.  Oh and we are studying frogs too, as my son found a frog skeleton that was too amazing not to study.  This is my kind of homeschool.  We also have horses and both kids ride with us.  We go camping with our horses and they have been many places other kids probably have never been.  We all marvel at God's creation.  Well that is a little about myself and family.  My husband also works 2nd shift so nights can get very long.  I look forward to reading and learning more.  Smiley
The picture is of me and the kids up on Goat Mtn.  After being there I wished we had all ridden goats instead of horses!  It was exhilerating to say the least!  Wow!

Hi everyone!  Okay, my turn.  I'll make this short and sweet (or at least I'll try to).

I am 35 yrs old
Wife to a wonderful man of almost 13 yrs
Mommy to three sweet girls- Julia (8 yrs), Anna (5) and Lydia (9 mos)
Accepted Christ at 12 yrs old, but have had "relationship" w/Him for 14 yrs
Have lived in So. Cal for all my life and ready to move!  Can anyone recommend a good place? Grin
Love to homeschool my girls, learn about nutrition, and decorate (on a small budget)

I'm learning soooo much on this site!  Thank you everyone.  I feel like I know you all!  I know the Lord brought me here as I started to change my diet by the advice of a fellow sister in the Lord, who I now believe has been mislead.  I feel much better eating more animal proteins again!  And, I just found a co-op that buys raw dairy and grass fed meats!!  God is so faithful.  I didn't even have to do any searching!

I hope I can help some of you as I learn more!  Thank you again.

Hi everyone!
Just came across this thread and was so pleased ... haven't managed to read all the postings though - NINE pages!!  Might take me a while!! Smiley

This is me -
My name is Erin.  I am 26 years old.  I've been married to Chris for almost 8 years now and we have 3 gorgeous children - Marcail is 4, Alexandra is 2.5 and Joel is 1.  I'm homeschooling (well...preschooling at the mo...) and busy with far too many other things as well (definitely need to drop some of my 'commitments' - but I love them all!).
As for where I live ... I come from Auckland, New Zealand.  I watch the All Blacks, love chocolate fish, know what a Kiwi is (it is NOT a fruit!!), like being barefoot and have a very low opinion of people who think NZ is part of Australia Tongue
Anyway, I had more stuff to say but my oldest has just poured breakfast cereal everywhere so I need to go!!

Update (27th Sept 2007)
27 years old now and up to 4 children - Marcail is 5, Alex is 3, Joel is 2 and Timothy is 3.5months.  Still homeschooling, still living in NZ and still married to Chris Cheesy (Mr Visionary thru and thru)

Hi - another newbie here.  I love all the great stuff I'm reading on welltellme.  I am so VERY grateful for this site. My name is Deborah and my wonderful hubby is Rick.  We live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and its already starting to get COLD! Where did the summer go? We have 3 children - Gabrielle, Hannah and Matthias and someone being 'knitted' in my womb right now; hence the name 'knitting another.'  I pray this pregnancy goes full term as I have had several miscarriages in the past.  It's completely in God's hands.  I have struggled with a lot of the 'what ifs' and 'what about that,' etc.  But like my hubby says, let God be in control, stop fretting.  Sometimes that is just a lot easier said than done! So, if anyone wants to send up an extra prayer for us, I surely wouldn't mind! Cheesy   I look forward to learning so much more from everyone here.

Hi, everyone! I'm new to welltellme and am pretty excited I found it.

My name is Brooke(24), and I have been married to Jay(37) for 4 years. We have twin girls, Shelby & Paige, who are 20 months old.

We live in the Midwest and are just anxious for the relief of Fall weather (it gets so hazy & humid here)! I have lived in the same city my whole life, and, though I would love to move someplace different, I don't think I could be away from the rest of my family.

I love learning about healthy living, gardening, and what to do with twin 20-month-olds during the day. I don't feel as busy as it seems like I should be. I am by no means bored, but just feel like I could find more of an agenda for myself and my day. I get the housework done, I involve the girls in the daily "chores" when I can, we play, and we get out of the house when we need to.

I am a perfectionist at heart, so I feel like I need to be a supermom and wife (although I know I'm not!). God is definitely working on me, so I am learning to enjoy life more instead of worrying what to do about this or that. I have to admit that for the first 18 months of being a mommy, I don't think I enjoyed my girls too much. I may be an oddball in this forum, but I had a hard time with them. My husband and I finally think that we would like to have more children. We are still pretty scared that it will be as hard as our first two. I want to be a happy, creative, and organized mommy who is putting her life totally in God's hands.

Anyway, I am new here too, guess I should introduce myself.
My name is Jennie.  I found this through Beeyoutiful which I found through NGJ which I found through Kent Hovind.  Many ministries the Lord has blessed.  I was saved young and grew up in a christian home, that is until my parents got divorced sending me through many years as a back slider.  When the Lord eventually broke me to teach me to trust in Him again, I was blessed with meeting my wonderful husband (on the internet,I know, risky, but we got lucky)  So, we met in May2004, met in person in June2004, and got married in October 2004 and had a precious bundle of joy August 2005: Isaac Japheth.  We are anxious for more, if work would have my husband home at the right times of the month   Grin We are NAVY, my husband is an EOD tech (that is like bomb squad in the NAVY, he dives under water to diffuse bombs and such; he enjoys safe jobs [lol])
I have been  a vegetarian for many years and enjoy cooking.  I dislike proccesed foods and have not stepped foot in a fast food joint for at least 7 years.  I refuse to have a child like the ones you hear in the market screaming "I want McDonalds"  We rarely eat out as we just dont like the food at restaurants.  I got a grain mill as a wedding gift and love grinding flour to make bread.  Currently trying to figure out how to make bread without yeast.  I am reading all I can to learn about using herbs and also sudying homeopathic remedies at the same time.  I love animals and nature and basically God's creation.  Cant wait to see how much more beautiful everything is in the new heavens and new earth.  We are blessed to live in a  town in WA with a sound doctrine teaching, KJB believing, conservative, fundament Baptist church.  WE are REALLY glad we found NGJ training materials...oh if only my parents would have trained according to Gods word.  well, my husband and I have purposed to break the family curses here and now! (there are quite a lot to break too)
I love being a help meet to my husband, he actually told me what a good help meet I was (this was funny as I had just been reading Debbie Pearls book and he didnt not know this)  my husband  even had a young guy he works with said he needed to find a wife like me... AWWW!  We refuse to send our kids to public school as we live near the school and we see what the public school system produces every day when they walk by our house.  I am so excited about home schooling I can hardly stand it.  I think I have planned out about 20 field trips allready.  Trying to teach Isaac sign language right now.  well, taht is the main points, I am excited about this web site and learning more.

Hi ... I joined WellTellMe sometime last week and have just come across this "introduction" thread.  I have actually posted a couple of times already... hope that wasn't rude to start talking before introducing! Wink

I will be 39 in Sept. and have been married for almost 16 years.  My husband is a loving, kind, and sensitive guy.  He is also brilliant, and he is a physician.  Specifically an Internist.  Oh yes, he is a Mr. Steady (he insisted on having Prov. 31 read at our wedding ... when I read Created To Be His HelpMeet I was so amazed at how well Debi described him!) and he may have a twinge of Visionary too.   We have three incredible children -- a 9 year old son, a 6 year old daughter, and an 8 month old daughter.

We began making changes in our eating habits about 4 years ago.  Some of the food-related things we do:  we buy as much organic as possible, especially locally fresh meats and produce;  we eliminate as much processed stuff as possible;  we eat whole foods as much as possible; I cook/bake from scratch.  I have recently begun cloth diapering (not food related but the next logical step in becoming more "crunchy").

What has brought me to WellTellMe?  Well, let me tell you! Wink  We have been a subscriber to the NoGreaterJoy publications for years.  I cannot begin to tell of all the things I have learned!   From the Help Meet book (WOW I have read it through three times so far!) to the Bulk Herb Store (there is soooo much interesting information there) to Nourishing Traditions (ok not part of NGJ but related in a way) ... I would really like to become educated in herbs and natural healing/health.  This seems like a great place to get information and begin research and learning new things.

I have done a lot research on my own, a lot of reading, etc.  I've come here to learn as much as I can.  The last several years have been quite an amazing journey for me (and for my husband). I am excited about being here!

Nice to meet you all! I look forward to reading all these introduction posts as time allows!

Hello to everyone.  I have been checking out the site for a couple of months already and finally got the nerve to register and post.  I have learned SO much already.  Thanks to you all for the great info.  It seems like there is quite a diversity in the members.  And I like that.

My name is Missi (40).  Married to David (43)(Mr. Steady).  Mama to Christopher and Grace.  Grammy to Jacob.  Hubby is an electrician.  Homeschooled ds and dd is in public school (not my choice).  Came to this site from NGJ.  I have received their newsletter for years now.

I am interested in natural healing methods, canning, organic gardening, child training, sewing...

I look forward to chatting with you all in the future.  Bye for now.

Hey All!  I've been to this site quite a bit but never saw the introductions- it's sooooo good to meet you!  I have been so blessed by this forum and all the wisdom you all share- how cool God is to bless us with a site like this, huh?!  Anyway, I am Kendra, wife to Steve (4 years in November).  Steve is the ultimate macho-man  Grin  He loves hunting, fishing, working on his old truck, and is also a military man!  I enjoy walking, gardening, reading, learning (hence my screen name), cooking and so on.  I have a beautiful baby boy- now almost 5 months old- Cale.
I just started in the last year really learning about medical health vs. natural health and my interests have grown as I learn more.  I come from a family of incredibly medical model-mindedness (a veterinarian, a nurse, a healthcare administration mom, etc.).  I had no clue there was a down-side to medicines, vaccines, etc. and I had no clue about whole foods and so on. Shocked   I have seriously rocked the boat with having an out-of-hospital birth with a midwife, treating my family herbally, and so on.  And I have so much more to learn- at least I give everyone something to talk about at family gatherings!  Wink
I'm also learning a lot about managing a family (I stay at home), training up a child, homeschooling, and being a help meet- All of which are pretty new concepts to me.  Lot to learn- glad it's fun!!! Grin

My name is Shelby. I am 33 years old and wife to Stan and mommy to four beautiful children ages 12 down to 4.  We are praying for more as the Lord sees fit!  I am very excited about finding this website.  I found it through the NGJ site.  We live in FL where we moved 11 years ago.  I was raised in NC, right in the Bible belt and we attended church, but something was missing.  Eleven years ago we moved away from everything we had ever known, but we found the missing link.....a personal, real, passionate relationship with Jesus Christ!  Now my passion is to tell others about that relationship -- and of course to be a helpmeet to my wonderful husband and a homeschooling mommy to my precious children.  I also love learning about herbs and alternative health care remedies, personal care products, and organic cooking.  My idea of a perfect day is curled up on the couch, reading books to my children - and maybe a few to myself!  I also love to write and dream of actually completing one of the many books I have started.  My husband is a wonderful man - a loving daddy and a Godly leader in our home.  He is very supportive of my "health and wellness" endeavours and his new hobby is triathlons.  He has done extremely well in races and the kids and I love packing the car for a weekend "road trip" to watch daddy compete!  All the training has put him in great shape, too! Wink   I am thrilled to "meet" everyone through the intros and I can't wait to glean some great information and godly encouragement from all of you!

I forgot to say what "kind" of man my hubby is!  I noticed a lot of people are identifying their husbands by the Three Types of Men from Created to Be His Helpmeet.  I am currently reading through it for, hmmm, maybe the third or fourth time -- but it only took one reading to know that I am the blessed wife of a Command Man!!! Smiley  As Debi explains, at least I never have to wonder how he really feels!! Wink  Seriously, though, he is a wonderful husband and daddy and I am so grateful, even after more than a decade of marriage, to be his wife.  Anyway, I just wanted to throw that in!!  Can't wait to get to know everyone!

I am an Australian living in America. My husband went to Australia to work with a missionary there is 1996.  We met and married in 1998 - we just had our 8th wedding anniversary.  So far we have 2 kiddos - a girl and a boy.  We are a homeschooling family and intend to homeschool all the way through!
Healthy living has always been an interest of mine - but I have a lot to learn and a LOT of questions.  I am really enjoying reading all of your great posts.

Hi-

I'm Sarah K.  I'm 35 and live in Minnesota.  My husband and I have been married for 12 years now and have 9 children ages 11 to 1 year.

As a family we garden every summer and enjoy it more often than not.  We can or freeze most of our food and we all enjoy that there are lots of helpers for those jobs.  We also enjoy tent camping and try to make at least one 6 day trip every year.

Sarah K

Update 9-17-07 ~ We're up to 10 children now & I'm up to 37 years old.  Beyond that, I'm still pretty boring.

Update 2-7-08 ~ The Man and I will have been married 14 years in March.  We now have 11 children (13yrs to 2 weeks), but I'm still only 37... in fact - when I wrote that last update, I was really only 36 years old.  I just forgot how old I was.

Update 5-26-09 ~ 8 boys + 4 girls = 12 children ages 14yrs to 4 days today.  Married 15 years to someone so wonderful that I can't tell much about him cuz it would cause great envy and awe.  I am still getting older on a day-by-day basis.  I'm pretty sure I'm 38 years old.

Been hanging around for about 6 weeks now and finally navigated my way to this post.

Hello, I am Alysia (aka 4my3rascals), the wife of Jay and mother of 3, whom I affectionately call rascals; hence the name.   Before children, I taught high school math, chemistry, and physics.  My first born, Lydia, changed my entire outlook on life within moments of her birth.   I quit teaching to become a stay at home mother.  No regrets about that decision.   2 years later Caleb was born and then Nathan came along in early 2005.   They are the joy of my life!!!

This is my first membership to a forum and my first experience blogging.   I was introduced to the NGJ ministry with my first born and am perplexed that something so simple can cause such controversy.   I vow to let my fruit speak for itself.   But that is another topic....

In 2002, I was diagnosed with a mild form of ulcerative colitis.   It was in remission during my pregnancy and several months following.   I have been taking some medication for about 1 year now and I want to stop and take control of my health.   Afterall, my body serves as a holy temple for our savior, Jesus Christ.  I have been fortunate to avoid any steroid use or major flare-ups, no hospitalization.

Initially, I asked God to just heal me, to perform a miracle.    The answer I have been given is to change my diet, to take control of my health and my family's health.  So, when the last issue of No Greater Joy included an article about the Maker's Diet and this site, I knew my prayer was answered.   I have been reading several books, severals sites, including this one, and am preparing my family for changes.  Overwhelming, yes.   But, also exhilarating!!!   My DH is very supportive and is on board for the ride.   The children are missing the processed foods and high sugar diet.   But are eating new foods everyday.   I have not officially started the full changes I want to implement as I am still deciphering where to start.   I will post my progress as changes occur.  Bless you all for sharing!   Praise to the Lord for wisdom and guidance and a personal savior who cares about every detail of our lives, including the foods we eat!!!!

In my spare time, not much these days, since I am reading a lot, I sell on Ebay.  My 2 older children attend a private non-denominational multi-classroom school on a part time basis.  We homeschool the other days.  The curriculum is the Bible and Alpha Omega, which is a mastery learning system that allows the pupil to learn at an individual pace (thus the multi-age classrooms).  And finally, I live in Southern Illinois, close to Missouri and Kentucky, near the point where the Ohio river becomes the Mighty Mississippi River.  So think country, not city, as we live on 6 acres that is slowly becoming our spot.

Hello,
I am a some what exhausted  mother of 4 children, ages.... 5, 4, 2, and 8 months. I have a wonderful husband  who adores me. He tells me all the time how wonderful and beautiful I am. WOW!
I work 16h a week at Wal-Mart.  TO help supplement our income. Sorry  but you will not see me for I am in a locked room all by my self with lots of money. I work in the cash office  also known as the accounting office. (I was just promoted.) WOW!!!
I like to know the "did you know" facts. Just useless facts that can be useful. If you know what I mean.
We just started kindergarten. And we home school. I am a bit apprehensive. Just want to make sure they learn all that they need.
I am a terrible speller and hopfully teaching the kids the proper way will help. Please forgive my misspelled words. And bad grammer.
 That is it for now.

I thought I should introduce myself. Ive already posted a couple of times. I didn't know!      Any way  I'm 39 and my husband is 42.We've been married 22 years.  Yep, that would make me 16 years old when we got married. But I'm not 16 anymore and God was good; Called me out of the mess I was making out of my life, and over the years has helped me put the pieces back together.                   About that same time we started homeschooling and receiving NGJ's newsletter. My husband and I both credit the length of our marriage at least in part to the teaching we got from NGJ ministries.               Debi's book Created to be his help meet is great.  Showed me every mistake I ever made.  Wink Found out I did a few things right too.  Cheesy  Reading it time#3.            We have 3 great kids 22,20 and 16. Would like more. No we're not crazy just wouldn't mind trying again. If not that's okay too.           I think my husband is the Mr. Visionary type with some Mr. Steady involved there. I've really thought about it, but he has the qualities of both at different times.             I laughed when Debi talked about Mr. Visionary buying an old house trailer cheap and fixing it up and selling it for 10,000. Guess what?  It can be done!             Been using Nourishing Traditions for about 5 years. It's just a base of how we eat. I don't make a law of it. But it is a good nutritional guide. By the way I know of a good bread recipe that does the same thing as sourdough only it is much lighter and no sour taste. Search under naturally leavened bread if you are interested .( one of my earlier posts)          We are in the middle of building a house right now. I can hardly wait to until the roof is on. I'm moving in finished or unfinished. We're renting right now and would like to save the money.         Well anyway it's been informative browsing around the website. I hope I'll be a good addition.

Hi! I'm a 23yo student at New St. Andrews College in Moscow, ID. My home is in a little town called Victor, about 45 minutes south of Missoula in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley. My passions are educating children, baking and, most recently, learning to use what God has given us to the best of our ability. My dad has retired as a MSgt. in the Airforce. We moved around a bit but not as much as many military families do. We moved to Germany when I was three for seven years and again when I was 13 for another three. We have also lived in AZ, CA and Dover, DE. I think our family has a very balanced approach to health related issues. Both the medical field and "natural" methods have their place and usefulness and IMO shortcomings.
I found this forum through the NGJ website, and I'm very glad I did. It has already proven useful. (I first read TTUAC when I was twelve and my mom was reading it. My two younger sisters were toddlers at the time. Even then I was very interrested to know why some families had happy obedient children while others were sullen and rebellious. That book answered a lot of questions.)
I look forward to using the forum a lot in the future!
