I've been enjoying learning from all of you for the past year or so, but never joined WellTell Me.  I finally decided I should join.  Although there is already a wealth of information on this site, at times I've wanted to pose another question.  I'm married to my best friend and have mother to Peter (14 weeks old).  I gave birth at home (technically unassisted) with my husband and mother-in-law "attending"... we also called a friend in who delivered her babies at home.  It was a wonderful experience and I appreciate all that I learned from the WellTell Me forum.  I'm looking forward to learning more.

Hi there!!!  I am fairly new to WTM.  A wonderful friend of mine told me about it some time ago and I looked around some and posted a few questions and just kind of stopped.   Embarrassed  But I am back again and I find myself spending HOURS on this site.  It is just great.  I thought it was great before, but I think it is really great now!   Grin

So, about me...I am married to my high school sweetheart.  We celebrated 9 years this past March.  My husband is currently studying Audiology at the University of Texas at Dallas.  In less than a month we will be moving to Scottsdale, AZ so he can finish up at the Mayo Clinic.  So I am just working to support the two of us.  We do not have kids yet, but we want them.  I am 32, so I know the clock is ticking.   Wink

I am slowly getting into all of this stuff and I have LOADS of questions, so you will probably see me a lot.  PLEASE bare with me....after reading several topics I have realized that I am quite...what is the word??...stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff.  See...I don't even know what word to use instead of stuff.   Tongue

Anyway I am so happy to be back and I look forward to talking to all of you and listening to your words of wisdom!   Smiley

Hello Everyone,
I have been a member for a few months but have not actually introduced myself. My name is Shannon. I am a stay at home mom to our son of 9 months. This forum has been a great resource and has helped me gain more information in many areas. I am encouraged that there are so many people out there wanting to make home life healthier and happier. We are in the process of eliminating chemicals and just eating healthier in our home. My husband calls me the "which doctor" in a joking way because I am always studying harmful things and always tell me we need to get rid of this or start eating this. I am thankful he is on board for most of this. I feel good as a mother and a wife that I am trying to make us healthy.

Nice to meet everyone!

Hello, everyone.
I was posting on Urban Exodus under my mom's name, signing off as Cara's daughter, but have finally gotten my own account. I am the oldest of ten siblings, loooove animals, (especially dogs) and am a bather at Petsmart. I will eventually be trained by them to be a groomer.  I own two dogs, a cat, four birds, (two finches and two parakeets.) and too many fish to count! I am particularly interested in natural healing/living, both for humans and pets.
BTW, I  won't be posting much on WTM; UE is more up my alley!

Hoping to get to know ya'll more!

Even though I became a member several months ago, I only recently started posting. I just didn't have time to figure it all out while homeschooling. Now that the kids are almost done, I can apply my computer illiterate mind to finding my way around WTM!

I am married to Steve (a man among men) and mother to seven littlies - 4 girls and 3 boys. I will shortly attain the ripe age of 33 Grin I am from the "Great White North" (Canada), but as it is July, it is very green Wink

Everyone at our house is gluten free/casein free/ no nuts or soy. All this goes back several generation on both sides. So threads that relate to GFCF are high on my list. I publish a quarterly newsletter called the Gluten Free Gathering.

I love to learn and try new things. My hubby is on board with keeping our family healthy - and even drinks kombucha!!! I love to laugh and find joy in the mundane. I so look forward so spending more time on WTM!

Just recently found this site, and have enjoyed reading all the great info. here!
Married for 10 years, mother of 3, 1 boy & 2 girls. One baby in heaven, due to a miscarriage.  My boy is a HAND FULL, but I wouldn't change it, even if I could. I feel so blessed with the family God has given me.
I am taking bioidentical hormones, after having my girls, my hormones have stayed out of whack since weening. My hormones were that of someone in menopause. Been 6 months on them, and they seem to help, but still not quite there. I am hoping to boost my hormones naturally, so I will eventually be able to discontinue use of them.
I have danced most of my life, and taught ballet while attending college. I have a Bachelors in food and diet. I have also taught Bradley Childbirth classes, and delivered our children at home, with my husband assisting.                                                                                             I love moms, and moms to be! I am working on a fitness line geared towards women, especially mothers. Still a work in progress, but I hope to accomplish my goals soon.  I look forward to reading your posts!

Nice to meet you.  I am new to this site, too.

We took the Bradley classes but I had to have a C section afterall.  Still very happy to have learned what I needed to get through the pregnancy and 25 hours of labor.  I am especially happy to have learned about Dr Brewer's diet.  I can see the benefits of good nutrition, especially protein and Omegas, in my daughter.  I still try to eat 100 grams of protein each day and refer to the diet when I need to get back on track.

I am planning to go back to school to finish my degree in Biology to become a Registered Dietician.  It has taken several years to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

Better health through good nutrition is my interest.  I enjoy reading the posts on this sight.  They have been very interesting and informative.

I like this site's personality.

Hi!  I've been reading on this website a lot, but I have never posted.  I just figured out how to, which tells everyone exactly how much computer knowledge/experience (or I should say lack of!) I have!  Anyway, I am 44,blessed to be married with 5 children - two have left home.  I enjoy an awesome daughter-in-law and one granddaughter as well.  I am so drawn to all of the wonderful information there is here, and am excited to learn and apply.  We have been making some headway into living healthier, but I know I have so much more to learn.  I really enjoy it and love knowing I am truly helping my family.  I wish I would have learned and used this information a long time ago, but am thankful to have what I do now.  I am ever thankful to God for His mercy, grace  and love and am just so amazed by Him.  Most of all, I want to bring Him glory and honor with His help.  It really is so nice to "meet" all of you!!

Hi, I'm a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, married to Mr. Steady, with 5 children ages 1 - 9.  We're fairly new to 'healthy living' mentality... actually my husband has always been more health conscious but has never pushed me to become more-so - he simply made suggestions every now and then.  I'm learning to listen to my husbands 'suggestions' and see them for the wise counsel that it is.  So, I probably won't be doing much posting, except maybe for asking questions, since I know I still have a LOT to learn.  Thanks to all those who share their knowledge and put up with what must seem like fairly 'duh' questions sometimes.

Hi,  My name is Jessalyn and I am a stay-at-home-mom, homeschooling my two dds.  We are an AF family currently stationed in Hawaii.  I have had several chronic health issues, including hypothyroidism (with all of its results) and chronic sinus infections, likely a combination of allergies, hypothyroidism, and less than perfect nutrition.  I am really excited about the information and support that WTM offers.  Thanks for running such a friendly, helpful site!

Hi! My name is Stephanie Tallent. I am married to Paul who is Steve Tallent's younger brother. I am sis-in-law to Steph Tallent (yes, there are two Stephanie Tallents'!) and we are great friends as well as family! Cheesy

Paul and I have two littles. Amanda is 20 months and Michael is 6 months. They are really close in age and quite the handful, but we love them and they are so much fun. Who needs outside entertainment when you have kids?  Wink Cheesy

We do as many things as we can as naturally as possible, but give ourselves grace if it is not something we want to take on because of schedules, time or whatever. Sometimes we just find another way to go natural without me having to add more to my already busy schedule. I am so thankful for a hubby who wants to do things natural, but allows grace if it something that is just too much for me.  Wink

I have been reading lots of good info on WTM for a while now and decided to join you! Thanks for all the helpful info that I have gleaned from you so far! I am always open to learning something new, trying a new way or adjusting my thinking about something.  Cheesy Maybe I will have something to share sometime that will be helpful to you all!

I have four sons 17 - 2 years  and one daughter 3 1/2 months.  We have always homeschooled, our oldest graduates this year.
Four years ago we moved from CA to TN in order to allow our boys room to run and become more self-sufficient, and someday we will attain that goal.

Hi I'm new to the board. It was recommended to me by a good friend. My name is Laura, I am a happily married military wife who has three daughters. I homeschool 2 of my daughters, the other has gone away to Pensacola for college. I have some very specific health needs and I really would like to get started on making my own kefir. I have done some research but all the research has not netted a cohesive response. Also someone had mentioned to me Barley green and I don't know much about it. I have a sprouting jar here at home but I would love some really good info on sprouting nonetheless. Thank you!

Hi, I'm Jo from PA. I've been reading the board for about two years. You ladies have some good advice. It's great to have a place to come for some Titus 2 grandmotherly advice-not that everyone here is old or a grandmother-but you have the knowledge our great great grandmothers should be passing along to us, thing forgotten in our techno world.
We homeschool 2 dd's and have a 1 yr old ds. I was here many many times during my last pergnancy, at 43, I was looking for all the help I could find for a natural birth. God was good to this old woman, I ladored at home from about 2am till about 6:30 when we left for the hospital. We arived at 7am and ds popped out at 7:30.
Be back for more info!

Hi everyone! My name is Christina and I am 21 years old. I'm married to Phillip, a most wonderful command man who has been in the US Army and to Iraq and is now in the National Guard here in Florida!!! We have been married for 3 years and just had our first baby! He is now 8 weeks old and growing like a weed. The statement really is true that they grow too fast! We plan on leaving our child bearing years totally in God's hands and how ever many he wants us to have is how many we will have and we wont get in His way!  Grin
I did not grow up in a Christian home but my husband did. We met in high school and I started going to church with his family and found my savior at 16.
I knew nothing about natural living or that it even existed until my husband was deployed and I clung to a friend of mine with 5 babies and about 10 years older. She and her husband introduced us to the Pearl's material and gave me my Help Meet book when we got engaged. I have such bad habits that I learned growing up that I've read it countless times and still learn something new each time. I believe with all my heart that it saved our marriage before it started.
I research everything! I'm not new to this website. I am a new member I just never thought it was important to become a member and post to get to know all of you until recently. And now thanks to my friend and this site I just had my baby with a midwife in a tub instead of at some hospital with a doctor who was a little too willing to give a c-section. I switched to a midwife at a birth center half way through my pregnancy. I highly recommend it to anyone who is prego and seeing an OBGYN. Though there are really great doctors out there but natural labor and birth is the way God intended. I seek natural remedies and answers whenever possible. And I love learning new alternatives to doing things.
This is such a great site! I can't wait to get to know all of you better and read more!

Since I have been on here a little while I guess I should post an intro. My name is Angie and I am a 34 yo wife and homeschooling mama. I have always had some interest in natural health and herbs but the past few years have been much more serious. My oldest, J, is 8. I had fertility treatments to get pg with him (pcos). At 24 weeks I started bleeding and went the ER, only to discover that  I was dilated to 10 and J's feet were sticking out. I had an emergency c-section and delivered a 1 pound 11 oz bundle into the world. J was in the NICU for 4 months and came home as a medically fragile infant.  He is now 8 and has been diagnosed with apraxia, dyspraxia, and sensory issues, plus he still has a lot of problems with his lungs and almost constant congestion for which doctors have been able to provide no relief for thus far.  He also has trouble regulating his body temperature. If you have suggestions I am listening!
My little guy, B, is 4 years old. We adopted him from the US foster care system.  When he came home at 2 years old B was nonverbal, completely g-tube fed and could not walk. Now he is none of the above, lol,a chatterbox, into everything, eating everything....
He has been diagnosed with  dysarthia and was drug and alcohol exposed in the womb. He has lung problems also but nothing as bad as my older one.
Anyway  I look forward to learning from you all.

Hi, I just joined.  I'm a Christian mom to 1 14 yo dd, 1 9yo ds and 1 5yods (who is not a "d" at this moment!).  Been married to the man who can fix ANYTHING! for almost 18 years and it just keeps getting better (life gets harder, but I think we are more in love and relaxed).  Several years ago, due to my Dh's high cholesterol, we started eating better.  Grind our grain, buy only whole grain products, no HFCS or hydrog. oil, limited MSG, make a lot of stuff by hand.  We can't buy as much organic, but try to do what we can.  We go to a Bible church, but we've been so sick this fall/winter, that we've missed a lot.  I think it might be bcz my 2 older ones went from homeschooling to school this year.  We have 2 cats and one 5 mo puppy (Max) who is just finally getting the hand of potty training.  Yeah!  I heard about this sight on another sight (can't remember which one - maybe Bulkherbstore?)  I've been perusing the forums for any sick remedies I can get my hands on.  I started a cold Monday and gave it to my 9 yo, who is worse off than me.  Trying to keep it from the rest.  They are so hard to get to do the natural stuff because it either smells bad or tastes bad.  I can't afford ech. tinctures too often, but might buy the Immune Booster from Bulkherbstore.  They're out of stock!!!! Aaaargh!  I also want to buy the green tea from them.  Have bought other stuff in the past.  Anyways, I hope this is a little info for you to get to know me.  I think I'm as addicted to this sight as I am Recipezaar.

Hi, I'm Kim Bowlin, from Holden, MO.  My dh is Andy and we have three ds:  Josh (23) and twins, Jeremiah and Brandon (12).  We homeschooled Josh through graduation and continue homeschooling the twins.  We attend and serve at a local Baptist church and host a home worship on Thursday nights for our neighbors.

I've been lurking around for several months and have learned so much here!  I decided I should introduce myself and jump into the community.  We have transplanted from the city to the country and I'm embarking on gardening this spring.  Andy and I both have health problems and our sons have learning difficulties...all of which has led me on this journey of healthy living.

So far, I'm milling our own grains and homebaking most of our bread and in the process of using up the chemicals and replacing them with healthy alternatives...getting rid of the canned soups and learning to make my own cream sauces, cleaning out the sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and white flour (both Andy and I are diabetic) and replacing with honey, molasses and whole grains.  I divide my shopping between Aldi and an organic grocery store in the city...it's an exercise in budgeting to fit organic veggies into meal planning in the winter, but God has provided all we need, as always! Wink  I'm so looking forward to our garden!

The more I search here, the more I learn how little I know, but I'm so excited to be learning so much.  Thank you for all your wonderful information and encouragement!

I found out about WTM through NGJ and Beeyoutiful a few years ago and recently became more involved here, so I guess I should introduce myself.  I am originally from Japan, married to a handsome blue-eyed all American guy for almost 15 years and also a mother of 2 beautiful children.  Even though I was raised in one of the most health-aware country (did you know that the most long lived person usually happens to be a Japanese?), I didn't really pay attention to any health issues until I myself became middle aged.  Yet strangely enough, God has allowed some interesting people' path to cross with mine and through them, I started to become more interested in "better way of living."
I love WTM!  To be able to read/ask questions about simple thing like "sugar" to "favorite games to play" has made the life easier for someone like me who comes from a different culture and has questions but sometimes don't exactly know where or how to ask.  Thanks WTM! I will be learning more from you all!

P.S.  Recently I read a "homemade laundry detergent" thread by HB.  I love the part she said about going to the garage and stealing her husband tool because she couldn't find anything long enough in her kitchen to stir the detergent.  I could totally see myself doing the same thing.  Yet, how she describes always cracks me up.

Howdy All!  Cheesy

What a blessing it was to find this board!

My name is Kristie and I am from Oklahoma. I am 29yo and married to an awesome hubby, Al. We have a "yours, mine and ours" family of 5 children: James 10, Abby 8, Brendan 8, Maddie 5 (this week!) and Lilly age 2.  (btw Abby and Brendan are not twins, step siblings Smiley ) This year is also our first year homeschooling.

I have been learning SO much from this board already! A few years back I was into eating healthy (via Doug Kauffman show. back when his website had a message board I was on it), but do to A LOT of circumstances, I stopped  Embarrassed Recently I feel God trying to lead me back into eating healthy and I have had a strong interest in natural remedies and healing, and I was searching and found wtm! And I was pleasantly surprised to see a group with so many Christians (there are a lot of new age-y groups out there....) and to see that people had heard of this board through No Greater Joy (a ministry that has touched my life in the past year or so!)

Anyway...Glad to be a part, and glad to have others to talk to about this stuff!

Hello all, my name is Sandy and the nickname ridgerunner is a reference to the fact that I'm an Ozark hillbilly.  Grin I was raised in the country on a farm and homeschooled, so once I turned 17 and left home and went to college I was as green as can be and had quite a culture shock.  Shocked

I am a mother of 1, a beautiful little girl 2 years old.  She's such a miracle!  My husband is in the military guard and also goes to school full time, and I work for a financial software company.

I'm grateful to be a member of welltellme because my family has went through a lot of health issues lately that were only exacerbated by side affects of too many prescriptions attempting to 'help' and 'cure'.  I'm working on creating a more natural lifestyle for my family, and the wealth of information here is a valuable tool.

I can't honestly say that I'm a Christian (please don't ban me for that  Embarrassed) I was raised in Christianity, but because of several man-made issues brought about in the church I was raised in I left the Christian path and haven't completely came back.  Right now I would label myself a Seeker of God.  I believe in God (I have seen and experienced way too many miracles not too), and I love Jesus (how could you not?), and I'm open-minded and respectful of every person's beliefs and opinions.

I'm looking forward to learning and making new friends here!

Hi!  I am a home-birthing, responsive breastfeeding, baby-wearing, co-sleeping, cloth diapering, infant potty training, baby-led weaning, non-vaccinating, single mom to an 8 month old baby boy and another baby boy stillborn 2 ½ years ago.  I strongly believe that God calls mothers to take responsibility for raising their children and to be mothers all day, every day.  After my son’s birth I was on a part-time leave, part-time work-at-home (in the middle of the night, since he doesn’t really sleep during the day) arrangement.  But one day my employer decided to cancel the work-at-home option and require me to come into the office every day.  So in the middle of an economic recession, I quit my well paying, very secure government job in Washington, DC, and moved to Colorado in hopes of building up a more stable support network and starting my own business where I can have my son with me 24/7.

For the most part, I’ve been eating Maker’s Diet/Nourishing Traditions (with quite a bit of raw “uncooking” in the warmer months) for the past three years.  But during my last pregnancy, I made a decision to take responsibility for my child’s health by learning to be his “primary care provider.”  So I started researching herbs and other natural remedies and preventative treatments.  During this process, I was introduced to WellTellMe, and WOW!!  I have learned so much from this forum in the past year – I’ve just been soaking up as much information as possible.  I laugh when I remember how I used to think I knew quite a bit about healthy living!  I’m not sure how much I’ll actually be contributing here, since most of what I know, I’ve learned from you all.  But I figured it was past time to officially join.

My son and I are blessed to be living with my brother’s wife’s parents in a suburb of Denver until I’m back on my feet.  We’ve been here four months now, and I officially opened the doors to my business two weeks ago.  A former immigration officer, I will be providing immigration filing services, benefits information, and case research.  For those of you who are prayer warriors, PLEASE pray that my business brings in paying clients sooner rather than later.  And also please pray that I would learn how to be content in whatever situation I am in (Philippians 4:11-12), as I’m having a really hard time adjusting to suburban life after city living.

Looking forward to getting to know you all better!

Hi All,

I'm very excited to have found the WTM forum!! What a great resource! Such a blessing to be able to discuss health and wellness in a Christian setting!

I am 20 yrs old, and living in New Zealand with my parents and brother. We live in a small semi rural town, and hope to move to our "patch" of 7 acres in the next year or so. We are just starting out with healthy living - or should I say I am - and trying to convince the rest of 'em! We've never lived unhealthily, but as we are hoping to live off our land, are looking to live more frugally and naturally.

My interests include cooking, nutrition, frugality, herbal remedies / herbalism, home education, essential oils and natural health care - in fact, homemaking in general! I also enjoy web / graphic design, mosaics, water colour painting, and many other crafts. We've been house churching for about 8 years.

I'm looking forward to posting more as I learn and have something to share!
