I am so glad to be here!  This will be a fun and very rewarding way to learn more about how to take care of my family.  I won't have much to give, other than funny experiences as I try the great suggestions on this site, but we will see.  This is such a blessing- to have access to an online "quilting bee" gathering of information.  Oh, imhairforyou because I do hair once a week and that is my blosgspot name for my clients. Smiley

My life?  Basically, super busy with a police officer husband and two little boys, ages one and two.  We love to play, and play, and play.  Currently getting back into rock climbing and canoing on daddy's days off.  During the week, you will find me traipsing along in a local park with Jack tied to my back and Logan running alongside picking flowers and carrying ants on sticks.  He says, "Look at these cute little ants."  He thinks they are cute!  Obviously, hasn't felt the sting of a red ant's bite yet.

Have a great evening!

Hi,
I'm from Austria (no, not Australia  Grin), married to a German (who was born in Argentina), and for the last 12 1/2 years we've been mainly living in Mexico. I have 6 boys (yes, really ALL boys  Wink), 15, 13, 11, 8, 6, 4 years old. The first one was born in Austria, the 2nd in Germany, the 3rd in Mexico, the 4th in Austria, and the last two in Mexico. Our youngest was the first son who celebrated his 1st birthday in the land were he was born. The tells you a little bit about, how stable our lives are Undecided.

I grew up in non-christian home (actually, I also have a single-mom), became a believer with 18 years, and wow, has that changed my life. It's quite an adventure Smiley.

Until a month ago,  I homeschooled my 4 oldest with Austrian and German materials. Since then my 11-year old switched to an English-speaking Christian School, he's just too strongwilled (and I'm too-so that didn't work  Undecided). But it seems we made a good decision. Also, the last year I had a German girl here helping me with homeschooling. I'm so thankful, because, looking back I could have not done it this year without her, because I was weak and sick almost the whole school year.
That's actually how I got to hear about this website, because several treatments didn't help, so a friend recommended this place here. And I'm so thankful. I always have preferred natural "medicine", and I'm amazed to see how little I know. There's a lot of wisdom to be found here. And I'm looking forward to learn a lot and get to know all of you better

Hi everyone!
I found this forum quite by accident, looking for a specific article on Kombucha.
I started looking through, and I am SO excited that I found a forum that looks as though it is for Christians that want to live naturally and healthfully.
I am the wife to my husband of almost 7 years and mama to one beautiful little girl.
I am VERY "crunchy" - we don't even use toilet paper anymore (cloth wipes now). I love learning new (to me), alternative ways of living healthfully.
I am so glad to see this place.
God's many blessings to you.

I'm Kristi, aka: My3angels, wife to Craig (Electrician), and mommy to Gabrielle, 9, Hannah, 7, Noah, 3, and Lydia, 8 mths.   I have one in heaven, Leah.  I was 8mths pregnant when I lost her on June 15, 2007.

I am a stay at home/homeschool mom.  I love what I do.  I have been married for 13 1/2 years.  I enjoy reading the posts/researching to see how I can better take care of my family naturally.

This year will be the first year that I will have a garden!  I am really excited about that.  Hopefully I'll be able to keep it alive!

Hi, everyone; I'm a mom of one homeschooled 11-year old and wife of an awesome painter (the art kind, not the walls kind).  I am obsessed with health/food/water issues; maybe because I'm a retired chef...maybe just cause I'm obsessive!!  I'm growing a lot of unusual food and medicinal plants, making kombucha, and looking for a jun scoby.  Right at present I'm giving away a lot of colloidal silver.  I am so glad to be here, and to find so many people with the same concerns.  I'll be here a lot!  Thanks for the welcome!!!

After perusing the site for about a month already, I guess I should post an introduction.

Sesame Street taught me that a great way to meet new people is to "stick out your hand and say hello". Of course, this was before widespread kidnappings and hyper-paranoia with stranger safety. I'm guessing they no longer air that song. Still, I'll take a cue from them and start with a simple,

Hello!

I'm Mei-Lyn. From what I gather, I'm a bit younger than the majority of the posters on WellTellMe and don't have the 8 kids and wonderful husband that many of you have mentioned belonging to. Instead, I get to enjoy being an 18 year old college student. Even though many of the tips, tricks, and other posts I have read on WTM are therefore not of immediate application to me, WTM has given me a lot of inspiration and guidance for when I will eventually be in situations to use what the site and members have said. I grew up with a frugal and fairly natural-minded mother, so I'm hoping that that in conjunction with this site and other resources I've been exploring will help me to lead a healthy, caring lifestyle. In conclusion, I love WTM and have found so much interesting "stuff" on here!

HI!  I am new to WTM, have looked around a few times, but really crave the fellowship here and decided that today was the day.  I am a stay at home mom to 4 farm boys.  We live on small acreage in the west.  We are trying to become more independent in raisiing our own food and are looking toward moving off grid.  We homeschool and have a home based business.  I am new to natural products, but look forward to learning more.

Thanks to all!

Hello all!  I have been browsing this website for almost a year.  I have learned a lot from it and have enjoyed reading your responses.  I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself... I have been reading from this website for so long that I feel like I already know a few of you  Smiley My name is Debbie and I am from NC.  I have three children.  Kaden 4, Eleanor 1 (she'll be 2 in Aug.) and Titus 2 months.  I stay at home with my children my husband has a traveling job.  Like a lot of you I also have read the Created to be a help meet book (several times).  It is so nice to be able to connect to a group of people that you know have some of the same values and concerns as you do.

I would like to thank all of you that have shared your experiences and research.  I look forward to learning more ways to live a natural and healthy life.

Hi!  My name is Lydia aka DakotaSoapLady.  I am a SAHM mother to three little blessings 5 year old daughter M, 3 year old daughter C and 2 month old son S.  We presently live in a small town with hopes of being able to move to the country in a few years.  I was raised on a dairy farm and miss it dearly.  It was a lot of hard work, but I missed the time we spent with the animals and doing things together as a family.  We would like to get back to the country and raise our children because we know that a country life would be more fulfilling for them as well as us.

I will be homeschooling our children and have been doing preschool with our girls as they feel the interest.  It has now become a everyday sort of thing as they both love learning.  I plan on using the Charlotte Mason approach.  Trying to finish the books about her schooling methods, but don't have a great deal of time to do so.  I would love to meet other parents who are teaching their children with this method.  I went to college for wildlife management, forestry and parks and rec management and like CM approach to nature and can't wait to share more with my children.  They have actually been learning since birth beings we love to take walks and we check things out all the time.  The girls have the same excitement for nature as I do and already our little guy is showing his love of nature too.  School is going to be as much a blessing for me as it will be for them.

I enjoy baking bread and have turned a number of our favorite bread recipes into sourdough recipes beings we are trying to get away from yeast as much as we can.  My husband has a problem with yeast so changing to sourdough has helped him a great deal because he was not willing to give up his bread.  LOL  I also enjoy soapmaking, working with herbs and essential oils, making salves, solid lotions and liquid goat milk lotions, photography, gardening, cooking, canning and sewing.  I am not a great sewer beings I never really learned how to do it.  I would love to learn to read a pattern and sew my children's clothing.  I am getting together a few old sewing machines so the girls and I can learn to sew together.  I think it will be a great project for us in school.

We are a Christian family and I try my best to be a Titus 2 wife and mother.  I have felt compelled to dress more modestly and am trying to teach my daughters why God wants us to do so.  I am grateful to find other local women with the same conviction as well.

I am sure there is more I could say, but that is enough for now.  I look forward to meeting people on this board and making many new friends.

Blessings,
Lydia

Hello,

I am brand new to this forum and very happy to be here!  I have recently turned the big "50" and other than the dreaded menopause symptoms I am enjoying pretty good health.  I'd like to keep doing so and I really appreciate the opportunity to interact and learn from other peoples' knowledge and experiences. Admittedly I have a few small bad habits, but more good than bad.  Cheesy   I love life and am so happy to be alive!

I look forward to getting to know you all a little better.

Hello!  I've been reading this forum for a long while now, and just recently started posting, so I wanted to introduce myself.
I am 24 years old, and am currently still living with my parents and sister.  I have two brothers as well who have already moved away from home.  I am a seamstress at a bridal shop, and I have my own sewing business, in addition to babysitting twin babies one day a week.

God has given me a heart for the nations and for children, so after many years of prayer and preparation I am in the process of getting a visa so that I can move to Macedonia for at least a year.  My church has a sister church there, and I will be partnering with them to help with a ministry to gypsy children, and with some discipleship at some of their church plants.  I hope to move within the next month, and I am soo excited!  I've been waiting for this for a long time!

I have a huge interest in herbs and natural remedies, and just knowing how to keep my body healthy in general, so I have been enjoying this forum tremendously.  Thanks so much to everyone who puts in the effort to keep this site running, and to everyone who contributes!

Hi all!
I found this website after reading "Created to be His Help Meet" (love that book!) and I'm so glad I did! I have so many questions and its nice to find a group of christian people I can discuss things with.
I am a twenty-nine year old SAHM with a 9 mo. old daughter and am 5mo. pregnant with #2. We recently moved across our state for my husbands job. He works for a custom hay baling crew. Many of our friends and family thought our move would be hard on us and our marriage and they can hardly believe me when I tell them that I find my love for my husband grows deeper every day! I absolutely love being a wife and mama and thank God for joy and purpose He has brought to my life.

Hi! I'm a 36 year old, SAHM and I've been married to my high school sweetheart (Guy) for almost 17 years.  We have 5 great kids that we homeschool. This year I have a DD in 10th grade, DS in 8th, DD in 7th, DD in 1st and a DD preschooler. We have used the NGJ materials for years and also love shopping at the Bulk Herb Store and Beeyoutiful.

My husband is a home builder and when the market for new homes died a couple of years ago, it looked to us like a tragedy, the end of the world, or at least the end of life as we had known it for the last 15 years. As it turns out, the Lord just had BETTER plans for us. We were able to move from the city to a very small country  town where we are able to produce our own food and have a better quality of life in general. God is so good!

I have learned so much from all of the helpful and knowledgeable ladies on this forum. I am slowly but steadily ridding our house of toxins and replacing them with herbs, oils and nutritious foods.

Now that I've introduced myself, I'm off to ask my first question in the cleansing section!

This is partly a reply to ArmyWife since I am a new member and can't contact her personally yet.  Smiley I am indeed an 'mk' (missionary kid) - and did grow up in Papua New Guinea. Although we weren't with New Tribes we did know quite a few of them and their aviation service saved the lives of me and my siblings quite a few times with emergency medical evacuations. I have been married to my husband, Josh, for just over a year (the best year of my life!!!!) and am expecting our first baby (due Sat, Nov 21). I use "WellTellMe" a lot, and 'Nourshing Traditions' (the cookbook/textbook) is one of the best books I own. I had a year-long illness when I was 17 with a relapse when I was 22. I am since seeing good come from it because it got me interested in a better quality of life from natural medicines and living - I know now there is always hope.  Smiley

You ladies don't know how excited I am to find this forum!  Never before have I met so many Christian ladies who also use natural, God made, remedies for health! PTL!

I was raised in a Christian home, by wonderful parents!  My mom is very research oriented and I guess I got it from her Smiley  I take from both mainstream medicine and natural medicine, although I will admit that I'm leary of mainstream doctors and question them all the time!  I also never fill a prescription without researching it first.

I really started this road when my first was born and she had egg and dairy allergies.  I vaccinated her up to her 12 month shots and then I started to research the MMR due to her egg allergy.  Needless to say, I came across so much information I was not aware of!  And it shook my faith in the "establishment" that they couldn't answer my questions and didn't seem to be up to date with information in medical journals, etc.  This all led to us decided to stop vaccinations and we haven't done any since on our other 2 children.  So for the past 6 years, I've been researching vaccinations any chance I get.  It can feel lonely sometimes when you're in the minority, even among other Christians. And when we can, I really prefer to try natural remedies first before taking prescription or over the counter drugs.

Having said that, I really am an amateur at natural medicine and have MUCH to learn!  I've already learned so much by being on this forum for a little over 24 hours! lol

Now for some more personal information on us!  I'll be 31 in a couple of weeks and I'm originally from the U.S. (MidWest), but I've been living in Atlantic Canada for the past 11.5 years.  I've been married that long to my wonderful hubby.  Like I said, I was raised in a Christian home, but my walk didn't really get serious or sincere until I had our first baby!  I am a born again Christian and led my husband to the Lord about 5 years ago Smiley  We have 3 children...Amelia is almost 7, Elyse is 4 and Cole is 2.5.  I'm a migraine sufferer and my husband suffers from stomach problems that have been labeled "IBS" even though that's not what he has...the doctors just couldn't figure out what else it was.  My husband is a self-employed carpenter who just returned to work after being off for 3 years do to a shoulder injury he received during a car accident.  He loves being back to work, but he's in a world of pain.  His shoulder is not "fixed" even though he had surgery and the surgeon is not interested in pursuing it any further Sad  We asked for a second opinion from another surgeon, but I found out yesterday that our doctor did not send in the referral several months ago like he was suppose to do and the surgeon is now booking into February of 2011 Sad  He's set to see his old surgeon again Dec. 9th and we are praying about it!  It's ultimately in God's hands!

I'm a stay at home mom and our 7 year old attends 1st grade at our church's Christian school.  It's a great school, but we are going to homeschool next year and are super excited about it!  My daughter keeps asking when she gets to homeschool Smiley  It will fit our family's lifestyle so much better!

As a warning, I seem to have a bit of a strong personality.  I promise everything I say is with good intentions, but unfortunately, I can't seem to word things in the right way all the time.  I've been told on a couple of occasions that I come across as a know it all or rude, which has shocked me because that was never my intention.  I think that mostly comes from those that don't agree with me in views of my faith, vaccinations, natural health?   I've really been praying about this because I want to glorify God in all my thoughts, words and deeds.  If you ladies can be patient with me and know that I'm good willed, then I promise to try to think before I talk Wink

Okay, I think that pretty much covers us Smiley  Can't wait to get to know you all better!  God Bless!

~ Rachel

Hello there!  I was just reminded of this site by an ad in TOS, been a fan of Mike & Debi Pearl, the BulkHerbStore, and Beeyoutiful for years now, and have learned so very much.  I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 girls and 1 boy, with #5 due in May.  My wonderful husband is currently a software engineer but is working toward starting his own adventure business.  We live in Phx, AZ.  When we moved here from GA we met some incredible people at our church and began our journey toward healthier living.  We are firm believers in natural health - from homebirths to chiropractic to herbs and smart supplements.  We love the Lord Jesus and want our children to follow Him all the days of their lives, and we believe the family is soooo very important.  And we are always on the grow.  Hope to learn much from this group and if i can share anything i've learned, i hope it helps.
