Hi!

I guess since this thread has been resurrected I'll introduce myself, after "lurking" in the shadows for a long time, mostly just reading other people's posts...

I've been reading this forum for about a year, I think. I'm a little reserved about giving personal information on a public webpage, so I don't say too much personal... But, I'm a young wife, married to a wonderful Christian man, a brand-new mommy to our sweet son, and, above all, a follower of Jesus Christ, my Saviour and Lord.

I've loved learning about health and especially natural health/healing since I was in school. I even took a short Intro. to Midwifery course, as that was an interest as well. When I'm not busy taking care of my little family, or keeping house, I love to read, do flower gardening, enjoy the outdoors, learn new things, and play the piano, to name a few. I was homeschooled K-12 and absolutely loved it! Now I can't wait to begin with my son!

Umm, I can't think of much more to say about myself...  that's plenty, I think! BTW, isn't it interesting how you "picture" somebody, just off their username?  I've been surprised reading this, how many people are older, who I'd have thought were younger, and vice versa...

I love reading this forum, and have greatly appreciated all the helpful info. I have received from all of you! Thank you!  Cool

Hello everyone,

I'm Susan.  I have been married for twelve years now and have three little kiddos 4, 7 & 8, all girls.  We live just outside of Tampa, Fl.

I have been receiving the NGJ news letter for years now, but just found WTM last month.

I have all kinds of questions brewing in my head for all.  This is such a helpful, supportive site.  I do not homeschool, this was a hard decision, but I thinkthe right one for us.  (this would be one of those questions brewing in my head)  More on that later...

My name is Laura and I was introduced to WTM by two friends in two different states! I was given CTBHHM when I was 17, I didn't read it until 2 weeks before my wedding and loved it, I truly believe that without it our marriage wouldn't be as fantastic is it is now! I and my husband Robert will have been married for 1 year in December and we are anxiously waiting for the Lord to bless us with hopefully many lil blessings. We just recently moved to the Silicone Valley in CA. I recently started getting into herbs because of my dh who was/is a student of the School of Natural Healing, part of Dr. Christopher's herbal legacy. I also will be taking the classes to become an Herbal Master as soon as we pay off our debt and have a little money set aside. (I can't wait!) I just won't be doing it for credit.

I love to garden and knit, read, hike, and study, especially about fascinating things like the Bible and herbs. I am currently a SAHW and I am working on preparing myself for motherhood.

I will! My name is Kim, I live in West Michigan (Nunica) Hey neighbor Kaira! I have 3 daughters, ages 1,3, and 5. I've been married 7 years this summer to my highschool sweetheart. I work part time at a bank in the next town over, and cut hair out of the home.. The hair job was supposed to be enough for me to stay home, but ends weren't quite meeting, so I took a big step. Hmm.. Oh, I'm 27, and taking a bit of a baby break, although we want more.. dd still doesn't sleep through the night. My interest are about anything, I'm easily distracted. My friend gave me CTBHHM 2 years ago, and that's where this journey to WTM began. I hope to become a better mother, home maker, and learn lots about everything natural! One of the highlites of my life (recently) is making my first batch of home made yogurt! Yaay!

How fun to read and get to know some of you!  I'm pretty new too, but also have appreciated NGJ for a number of years now.

My man is German, so sometimes my grammar may be skewed, sorry in advance!  Smiley   We are blessed with 6 children, ages 7 and under.  We are former missionaries, but now settled here in the States.  Central PA to be more specific.  I grew up here in Mennonite country (but am "English"....that means American to the locals) as a farm girl.

I love this website and visit here as often as I can (like once or twice a week).

Hello, my name is Nickole and I enjoy manipulating people into movings states away from all they hold dear, just to be my neighbor.  Admitting it is the first step on the road to recovery.

My brother & SIL live in Asheville, NC and my SIL is always trying to "manipulate" me (and hubby)  into moving there....Wink  .  It must be something with NC'ers.....gotta watch them.

OK...I realize I have posted here twice and havent even introduces myself....not sure if I introduced myself on the other thread either.

My name is Kay and I live in SE, PA and I have been 29 - four times now Wink.   I am married to Mr. VISIONARY/Steady.....not as perfect as healthyinOH hubby I guess, but I wouldnt exchange him for anyone! LOL.   We have been married 10 years this past week on the 10th.....we have four children with one on the way (due 7/27).....Emily who will be 9 next month, Abigail 7, Zachary 5 & Benjamin who will be 4 next month also.

I have also been blessed by the NGJ folks and have been getting their newsletter since 1999.  We are homeschoolers (woud like to be homechurchers, but that is not where it at right now), homesteaders living in the city (we have chickens and a garden).....well thats about all I can think of!

Hi,
I'm Floydian, I've been here awhile.
DH won't let me give out too much personal info on a public forum, sorry. Lips Sealed

I live in the deep south.  I have 6 children--my 6th being a welltellme baby. Cheesy
My oldest will be 14 in 3 weeks.  My youngest is 6 mos.  I have 4 boys and 2 girls, my last four kids were born at home.  Oh, I was an only child.

I'm 38, I've been married 15 years to my best friend in the world.  I have an awesome godly man and feel like I am the most blessed woman alive.

I live in a big city  AND LOVE IT!!!!  I have NO desire to join all of you in the country.  No offense, but I really do like my city.  My dh is in computers.  He doesn't want to live in the country either.

I homeschool and enjoy it.  OK to be totally truthful, I enjoy it most of the time.  I have no useful skills except maybe sewing a little.  I can cook great bad-for-you food.  I am relearning to cook the good stuff. Undecided

I am a girly girl.  I like wearing makeup, getting my hair done, and all that, but I also enjoy swimming, hiking, archery, and rope challenges, etc. Cool

I detest crafts, snakes, liver, and reading directions.

That's about it.

Healthy in Ohio, how are you moving to New Zealand? My daughter wants to film her next movie in New Zealand. Anyone want to put her up and have the actors come from New Zealand homeschoolers? I am just kidding  but it would be nice. She really wants to do it.

I love WTM and have enjoyed reading about everyone. I am almost 50 and have 2 college age daughters. My 21 yr. old is in England studying for 2 wks. I got an email this morning from her that she had a headache. She had tried my homeopathic pills for headaches, but was wondering if she needed water or something else. I guess they never grow up. She read my instructions I sent her on all the illnesses. She laughed and said she should have listened better. With the 6 hr. differences we hope the headache was already gone.
She took Ultra Immune 3, garlic, etc. for the entire class. It's funny to see your children learning this stuff.

My second daughter is a freshman in college and is studying art and film. She made a 1 hr + movie on the Amish for her senior project in HS. The actors were homeschoolers and it took a yr. to film. It is sooooo much work. It almost killed our family. She entered it in Vision Forum's Film Festival and was a semifinalist. Our big prayer is that she will get it off the computer. The movie was edited this year (lots of work) and when she copies it flickers. We need some movie experts. She finished finals and can now work on it.

I homeschooled the girls all their lives. I am grateful for the time. I enjoyed it most of the time. But I think that is life. We enjoy most of the things we do hopefully most of the time. Life of a parent is just hard. I remember when my kids were sm. everyone said that my two kids were lots of physical work now, but later they would be work on the heart. Oh, how true. Oh the prayer now. Now I pray for the Holy Spirit's voice in their lives.

I am now busy with moving my Dh parents here. I've got a new season of service. God knew the timing so well. My oldest daughter is in college 30 mins. from home and we see her very often. My youngest daughter is at college at the Jr. college here where my Dh teaches. So she's still at home. My oldest plans on going to graduate school after she graduates in Dec. She would prefer to get married if there is anyone's good sons out there. She'd kill me for saying this and I know most of you have young kids. She majored in English because she felt like God wanted her to learn to write and think critically. But she wants to get married, have children and homeschool them. How did I get off on that. I did not give my Dd  writing abilities. Writing was my weakest part of homeschooling and that is their greatest strength. It is a testimony that it is not about us, but you can do nothing with Jesus (John 15) Oh yeah, I do not know anything about art or making movies and God has enable her like nothing else. My kids are nothing like me in their talents. But the hours on spiritual lessons as well as health issues seems to have stuck. THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS on this side of parenting. God put in the talents and I was blessed to have been privileged to water their lives.

I love to garage sale and looking for bargains. I found another book shelf Sat. and I am so excited. My husband and both daughters are fighting over it. Isn't that a good homeschooled family? I love to learn to cook all these new foods, as well as learn all the health issues. I love science and math. We figure God put science and math in me so that my kids would not be illiterate in this area.

I've been married 25 yrs. So I am one of the old ones here.

HiO, love the family picture! You have a beautiful family.

I am 35 ( Tongue I hated typing that!) and have 4 children, the youngest turning 1 this month. I am a SAHM, which is what I've always wanted to be.  Smiley Dh and I have been married for almost 12 and a half years. We truly complement each other, which is a nice way to say we are very different in many ways.  Cheesy However, we know that we make each other better.

I have been on this forum since around September and have learned SO MUCH from everyone. We have really been working on the healthier lifestyle for our family for about 2 years. I have been a NGJer since about 1999. We homeschool and really enjoy it. I love the beach, the color blue, books, and chocolate.

You can probably guess which state I live in by my name, and No, Nikole, it's nowhere near Cary.

We live in southeast Wyoming, 5 miles from NE (NOT Husker fans), and 60 miles from CO.  Our place is outside of a town of 150.  Our nearest towns of size are at least 45 minutes away.  Whole Foods, Sunflower Mkt, Great Harvest Bakery, Coldstone Creamery and JAX are 100 frequently traveled miles away (Ft.Collins, CO).  We were involved in ranching our whole lives, but we realized that the future we were led to believe that we were working toward on the ranch, was not going to happen.  So my husband is now a bank officer and enjoys it.  He loved, LOVED, ranching and does miss it though, except when there is a blizzard during calving....
We have been married 12 years.  I am two years older than him, had the measles in college, had to repeat a semester and met this hunk on campus, you can figure the rest out.  This summer our dd will be 9 and our ds will be 6.  We will also give birth to a surprise in August, uh Wyomama3?   We are 4-H parents this year and my cattle rancher husband will become a sheep herder (reluctently) for the summer.

I like to read, sew, research, eat any kind of berry, mexican food, and smell Rocky Mountain air.  I am involved in church ministry, many community projects, and serve on some committees in our county.  I do not like: hominy, root beer, potato chips, celery, or lamb  Tongue Tongue Tongue!  My dh says that I am practically unAmerican.

My life goals are 1) to raise a family strong in faith and health and 2) to weigh the number on my drivers liscense! Wink

I ran accross WTM through NGJ and at first used it as a diagnostic tool for my ds tummy problems.  I joined much later and have learned soooo much.  What a blessing WTM is to my family, and hopefully to all of the others that I have forced it upon!

Hi!  I'm glad to find this thread, since the other one is down.

I, too, am new to the forum, but have been gleaning SO MUCH information from everyone for a few months now.  THANK YOU!!

My name is Belinda, am a 38 year old SAHM, and I live in N Central Indiana.  I'm a farm girl (growing up), and my husband is a cabinet/furniture maker.  He also loves to make custom musical instruments, especiall mandolins.  His dream is to work out of his garage/workshop.  The commute would be so much better, the price of gas as it is Undecided

We have been married 15 years this summer, and have 4 great kids, 2 and 2, the oldest just turned 14, and the youngest will be 5 this summer.  They grow so fast.

We homeschool, and my dd has a mini-farm, loving all sorts of animals.  Her fave is her horse (which she has in 4-H this year) and we have all sorts of rodents (not just the unwanted pest mice) and guinea pigs and hamsters.  Oh, rabbits and ducks, too.  The others enjoy all the pets, too.

I love all sorts of topics, constantly jumping from one interest to the next.  I've dabbled in all sorts of craft projects.  I love to garden, flower and vegetable.  I love to make all of my own things that I can, and I have tried the laundry soap, some cleaners and some cosmetics and medicinals.  Great stuff!!

I love my computer, as it is my link to the "outside" world.  We live out in the country, and love every bit of it, but can't just run to the store for everything.  So, I usually have to get alot of what I need on-line.  Especially the info.  Thanks again for all the great ideas!!!

So great to meet all of you!! Grin

Hey, just wanted to say HI!  I have been reading alot of the threads on this site for a while.  I am interested in the health (especially the candida) sites, but I never really thought to introduce myself.

It honestly doesn't sound to me like I have anything in common with most of you.  I am a Mother of two sons 2yrs and 8 months.  I love my boys more than anything, and I have a great husband.  I also have most of NGJ materials on child training and marriage.  But I am not super healthy, or super mom, or an amazing wife (not my husbands words, he refuses to admit that I suck at it lol), I was meant mostly for hard labor.
Smiley  I am only 22 and have only been married for three years, but alot of time it feels like I am not cut out for this.  Just a little bit about me, I am a generally upbeat person, but I can admit when I am in over my head.  I wouldn't mind having a couple of people (who aren't super amazing) to be able to talk to.  And maybe a couple who are that can tell me what I am doing

I am Cathy (Janacat). I am 37. I have been married to wonderful hubby, Jim since 2000. We knew each other in high school and were friends that dated. We have Jana, who will be 5 in September (Used fertility drugs) and Emilie, almost 6 months. God blessed us with this surprise/miracle. I was not raised religious, but had a Catholic background. I was saved in 1999.  Hubby is not (pray for him). He is very supportive, just doesn't think he needs it. Jim and I hung around a sort of party/rebellious type of crowd in school, but are now pretty boring Smiley I was married and divorced before Jim. When Jesus came into my life it was the best thing ever! I have a great family and peace in my heart. Life, as we know is not always easy, but with God all things are possible. I am living proof. I posted "healed from anxiety". That is a true miracle, as was Emilie! I am confident that God has many more great things in store for me. I may have to go through some trials, but that is what makes us stronger. My faith and hope is growing by leaps and bounds! I am now a very proud stay at home mama and wife and happy in this role. This is the most rewarding and the toughest job I have ever had. Oh, and the most exhausting! But, I would not trade it for any other! I know how blessed I am!

My sister introduced me to No Greater Joy and Beeyoutiful. Awesome! God Bless all of you and your help, knowledge and advice! I turn here before I go to other resources. It is better learning from people who have been there and used that.

Anyway, I'm a stay-at-home mom and trying to be the best helpmeet I can be to a wonderful wonderful man who definitely deserves the best!  I love how all of the ladies on here seem to feel that way about their hubbys and are trying to please and serve them.  That is such a blessing to me to see that.

I want to clear something up about myself.  I love, love my family.  My husband is great and my kids are amazing.  I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.  I want to apologize if I made it sound any different.  What I was trying to say is that sometimes I just don't feel like I'm  on my A game, if you know what I mean, lol.  But I assume everyone feels like that and that that is the reason why God gives us books like the NGJ to help us when we can't figure out which way is up.  Anyway just wanted to make sure no one thinks that I was saying anything against my family, and let you know again that I just love this website. Thanx  Smiley

I am 34 years old.  The mother of two children.  A  boy 9 and girl 7.  They are of course the unwitting victims of my quest for health Cheesy.  They don't easily go along with most things, but I know they're learning because I hear them telling their friends at birthday parties, etc. the dangers of refined flour and sugar and the perils of not eating your vegetables (even though they are the first in line for cake and the last to eat from the veggie tray, sigh  Roll Eyes).  Anyway, my husband is a dear, saint of a  man, and has been a true blessing in this life to me.  We share many similarities, even though he's 59.  He is a wonderful christian man(never been married or had children before me because of his strong religious beliefs.)  We live on a farm and raise black angus bulls.  We also both work public work.(He works in radiology and I do nuclear medicine part- time)  I love this web site and all the information.  It makes me feel very much not alone in the symptoms I have and things I encouter in the health arena.  Thanks Smiley

Thought I should introduce myself

I'm 29, married with four children and number five on the way (five in six years).   My husband works as a welder/design/engineer for an environmental cleanup company.  We are planning to go to East Africa to do missionary work and currently raising support.

I've been using the sight especially as we researched birth control--I need a break.  I'm very thankful for the information. I've done a lot of other health related searching and love the wide spectrum of opinions and experiences.  I probably won't have good web access in Africa, but it's great to take in as much information as I can now!

It is about time for me to introduce myself: My name is Debbie, and I've been readng this forum for a couple of months now. I'm thankful the Lord led me here--I'm learning so much! I am 39 and have been married to my sweet hubby (37) for seven and a half years. We have not yet been blessed with children, but we really desire them and are praying that the Lord would bless us someday soon. We are trying to get our health in order to overcome infertility and other health issues that mercury and candida seem to have caused; we're in the midst of a Yeast Assassin program and have had our amalgam fillings removed. I'm eager to learn more about herbs and such for health--yay, garlic! I may not post very often because I work full time as a proofreader (I promise to not proofread your posts! Wink). I'm praying that the Lord would work things out so that I can be a homemaker and mom someday, in His timing.  Smiley  Well, that's a little about me. Ciao from Colorado!

I am LibraryPage's and SunflowerGirl's Tech Serv Assistant's and Strawberry Peach's cousin.
I graduated from our "homeschool highschool" last year and for now am working on developing my homemaking skills and helping my parents teach my younger siblings as I wait for the Lord's leading as to whether or not go on to college, etc.

I enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, and rubber stamping and I am interested in all things crafty.  Wink Soapmaking and trying to find the perfect chocolate cheesecake recipe have been my latest ventures. And using up our fabric stash by starting two scrap quilts.
I am a girly girl.  I like wearing makeup, getting my hair done, and all that, ....
And thanks to Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and the like, that is me to T.  Cool

Last but not least, I am my family's "herbalist-in-training".

Hello everyone,

I have been reading on WTM for many months now, and appreciate what I have gleaned from this site.  My name is Cara, wife for 18 years to Curtis, and mother to 9 children ages 1-16.  I am 41 years old.

I have struggled with anemia, chronic fatigue, insulin resistance, and adrenal fatigue/exhaustion.  Chronic pain has been an issue for the past seven years in my back.  I have not struggled with all of this at once, but it has been a progression, and I think the progression was becoming somewhat fast due to age and many years of the pregnancy/nursing routine.  My testimony is that God is gracious, and when I hit bottom over the past couple of years and cried out to Him, He has delivered me and given me and my husband grace to make decisions in the health department so that I can now say I am in better shape than I've been in many, many years.

This website has helped over the past year, and I've also had a chiro/OMD to help.  I've also used Nourishing Traditions.  Still, I have much to learn and so I was hoping to continue to glean here.  I am also hoping to be able to share my experiences some and perhaps contribute to some others being able to "come back" from the brink.

I want to thank healtybratt for SLS information.  This has helped with my 1 year old dd and a skin sensitivity.  I want to thank Forevergirl for the Water Cure info and Liver Cleanse info.  I want to thank SC for the skin brushing (I sure hope I can be consistent with that!)  And the dear person who posted a lot of cleaning supply recipes--I am sorry I don't know your siggy, but thank you!!  I use those all the time.

Blessings to you all,
Cara
