Greetings, all.
I'm "ConsummoAmorNonBellum," and am here to learn about alternative and natural health care.

Having been in the care of doctors for nearly 20 years and still not been cured by what ails me, I'm interested in trying out some of the less "scientific" but possibly more efficacious cures out there. I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing health information.

Let's see... I'm mid-thirties, extremely happily married. I write, teach, mother, sing, and make jewelry. I occasionally do laundry and clean, too. Not very often, though. Wouldn't want to go overboard or anything.

Am here to learn how to correct my thyroid imbalance (www.wilsonsthyroidyndrome.com), my IBS, and possibly the myriad of other things that inconvenience me on a daily basis.

I am a SAHM, we homeschool, own a grain mill we acctually use, have a garden, want goats and chickens and hollar for our children wihen it is time to come in. We teach the youth group at our church, he is a sound and AV tech and drives tractor or waters  trees for most of the day, I build stuff wood mostly (I get tools for Valentines day Grin), Paint, Sew, Crochet, and am learning how to knit. I love teaching my kidos and boy do we get messy Shocked! I dislike cleaning but love to organize Huh I am interested in anything natural and simple. Less is more type of thing.
No one at our church is a SAHM or would probably homeschool, I do love them all. I generally hang around all the older women, the ones my age (31) are into looking and sometimes acting like the world. Hello, I have been lurking here for a couple of months.  I would love to post more but can't figure out how to do it unless there is the green reply or reply with quote at the bottom.  Maybe someone could enlighten me?

I am a SAHM with four very active boys. Ages 8,6,3,18 months. DH and I have been married 13 years this August.  We home school and love it.

I love learning about natural healing and homemade remedies.  I made my first batch of GOOT a couple of weeks ago! Smiley

Looking forward to spending more time with all of you!

The craziest thing on here; I was reading something and my oldest was looking over my shoulder and saw the picture of PLUMLINEGIRL and said,"MOM, she looks just like you!"  The only difference is I don't wear glasses.

My name is Tiffany, I am 30 something and have been married to my dh for almost 19 years. We have 1 daughter and 5 sons with us and one son in Heaven. Our daughter came to us through the miracle of adoption:) A more precious gift I cannot imagine.

I enjoy problem solving/figuring things out/learning (and I DO NOT mean math!) so finding out what foods are good for our family is really fun for me. I also enjoy gardening, among other things. This year I seem to have a special obsession for weird looking tomatoes: ruffled, pleated, marbled, weird colors, etc. I have over 30 plants with about 27 varieties.

We have had goats for 5 years and just started milking regularly. So I am learning lots about making cheeses, etc. now too. We have babies coming any day now.

We also have 2 horses, our 12 yo son raises ducks for eggs and our 7yo son just got his first 21 chicks for chicken eggs. Add to that several fish, 4 cats, a rabbit, a huge dog and, right now, a Rubber Boa that was found outside, and we have quite a managerie for a little "gentleman's farm" in the Pacific NW.

Thankfully, we have homeschooled all along and our eldest son is ready to graduate.

I love being a mom more than I can say. I am called to help raise up 5 strong men and one willing daughter to spread the Word. I cannot imagine, nor do I aspire to, any greater calling:)

I love encouraging women, despite the messages our culture sends out, to feel content -- and even overjoyed, at being wives and mothers and the lights in their homes. I encourage being purposeful in our marriages and in child training, as well as in being keepers of our homes.

I love WTM and all of the info I can find and exchange here. I look forward to getting to know some of you better. Blessings!

Hey everyone!
I'm Mrs. B happily married for about 14 years to Mr. B.  I used to travel around the country when I was a younger girl and picked him up along the way.  We have a dd of 9 and ds who is 5.  We homeschool and live in NW GA of which I am a native.  Mr B is a native (with a little n) Alaskan.
I am so happy to have found WTM--I have a wonderful homeschool support group who are into grain and nutrition, too, but they still consider me the freaky, herb girl sometimes.
I am 38 years old and have been an RN for over 17 years in ICU. I still work a day a week in an open heart ICU in addition to homeschooling my babies.  I love nursing, but shortly after starting I realized that many of the patients in the icu setting are there as a result of nutritional and lifestyle habits.  Yes, there are a few who just have bad things happen--trauma, etc.   It was at this point that I made the decision to learn all that I could about nutrition/ natural remedies.  I completed bachelor degrees in holistic nutrition with an herbology focus.
I have a large garden at my parents' house that I enjoy, but am overwhelmed by.  I love to collect herbs and learn about how the Lord has given us so much here on this earth if we just look for it.  I love schooling my kids, exercise, taking care of my house/cooking, and going barefoot outside.
I have learned so much from all of you; I can't wait for what will be discussed next!

Hi Everybody!
I've been using this site for a few months now and I've just never gotten around to introducing myself. Anyway, I've been married for about 7 months to the most wonderful hubby God could have given me...we're very interested in getting really healthy so we can enjoy a long life together and have many beautiful, healthy babies. (I'd like at least seven. Roll Eyes) I was introduced to this site when my mother-in-law gave me the Beeyoutiful magazine. I've learned so much! Thanks to all of you ladies who have researched things so I can use your smart-nesses. Let's see...I like singing, reading, cooking, and my new favorite hobby is making laundry soap. I'm going to try making a tincture one of these days, but there are a bunch of things I have to get done before I take on another project. I'm looking forward to learning something new every day off of this forum.

I'm at home with our 6 children ages 10,8,6,4,3 and 16 mths...and one due in mid July. So far, we have all girls except for the 6 year old. I'm homeschooling. I teach piano to a very few students.

Greetings everyone!

I, too, am new to the forum. I stumbled upon the forum via NGJ and my mother. It has been interesting to watch how the Pearl family ministries have expanded over the years and to see the thousands of people they are now making an impact on. It is really interesting to see the wealth of information and fellowship of people attempting to live a healthier, Biblical lifestyle these days available at just a click away.

A little about myself... I am 28 years old and recently married (February) to the most wonderful, Christian man in the whole world. I am finally beginning to experience the fulfillment of truly living my dream (i.e.: Christian wife and helpmeet), and God is truly good! My husband serves our country as an Air Force officer and recently completed is fourth (and last, thank God!) tour to Iraq/Afghanistan. After graduating from the best of schools (homeschool!), I became a registered nurse (7 years) in the Neuro/Trauma ICU. I also have 2 years of internship with a midwife under my belt. As crazy as it may sound, even though I have practiced medicine for awhile, I avoid the doctor for personal ailments at all costs, if possible. My experience and insight into medical practice compels me to embrace natural, God-given remedies even more! And I would encourage everyone to seek out the miracle "drugs" He has provided for us FIRST! I am now leaving the career field for a much higher calling - WIFE, and, Lord willing, mother!!

Currently, I have been reading and researching the threads on fertility and miscarriage. I must say, it is extremely encouraging to hear from Christian, family-minded women who are experiencing the same difficulties as I. I have had a miscarriage since our marriage, and have had some long-term issues with fertility already. So, I am making a visit with the OB-Gyn on Friday. Having been raised on naturopathic methods, I wanted to make sure I was thoroughly informed about natural options when I am sitting in her office with the final verdict. The posts have been very informative and comforting, so thank you all!

Looking forward to all the information and discussions on here...

God bless you all!

Hi!

My name is Debi and I am LOVED BY THE KING!  Knowing and experiencing the love of God has changed my life! Grin

I have been married for 14 years to an amazing man!  His name is Steve and he also happens to be my very best friend!  I love being married to someone that I truly enjoy being with!  We have two sons, ages 10 and 12 1/2.  They delight our hearts!

We are currently about to move from Iowa to Kansas City! Shocked  We're excited and terrified!  LOL  But, I'm anxious to pursue some things that we haven't had the time to really pursue until now -- like a lot of healthy living stuff.  I am a personal trainer, by profession, but would like to delve into more healthy living -- natural, herbal-type stuff.  I've personally had a lot of problems with infertility and hormone imbalance and so far the medical estabilishment hasn't been much help to me, so I'm anxious to do more research on my own and see what I can find!

I'm anxious to learn and get to know you all more!

Hi,
I'm Bonnie in NW Montana mother of Jonathan (16), Melody Faith (14) Joshua (9) and Josiah (6).

I've been following NGJ and gleaning much since around 1996; really enjoyed Rebekah's writings of her New Guinea experience and have so loved the magazines, articles, books etc. that have been put out since then.

A year after finding the Pearls and their material, God called my preacher husband home.  From then until now, 6 mo into an amazing marriage God orchestrated from the first moment, it has been a rocky, extremely stretching and growing time to finally submit to God's goodness in all things, trust in His sovereign will no matter what it looks like and learning to be content whatever He has for me.  I have to say it's been a LONG, hard 10 years, but I also have to say because of His work in me, I wouldn't change anything except to maybe yield more quickly if I had it to do over again!

I'm extremely blessed by Debi Pearl's new book about being the helpmeet I need to be and hoping to spring board a Bible study at our church from it.

Thanks for all you share.

Blessings,
Bonnie Smiley

So, I came upon this place a week or two ago and it's become my new hitch. It seems that it doesn't take much to keep me from getting my housework done.

Anyway, my name is Stephanie, wife of 5 years to my wonderful man, mom to Isaac 3 1/2 and Havilah 19 mths. Hope to have more (my husband says this is enough), even though I can't keep up with what I have now. I belong to Jesus and am so thankful that He saved me from my sin and death. I like music, learning (especially when it comes to things pertaining to my family, ie. health and homeschooling), hanging out with my family at home and church, theater, traveling.... can't think of what else. Oh, occasionally I teach classes on women's fertility (natural form of birth control or pregnancy achievement.) It has become my dream as of late to move out into the country. We'll see what happens. Not a whole lot to me that would necessarily be that interesting to any of you. But thanks for reading........ Wink

I discovered this site through a No Greater Joy mag last year and have been hooked ever since.  The new format is finally making me get 'official' on the site   Grin   I'm thankful for the posts and research of many already!

My name is Shelli and I am the wife of a wonderful husband and mom of 3 boys, ages 3, 6, and 8..   We have fun (usually) during the school year while we school at home, and have even more fun playing in the summer (oh, but they've learned so much in our 'play').   I love to play in the dirt (weeding is good therapy, planting even better), read about anything worthwhile (that eliminates about 99% of what's out there to read), being crafty (in the creative kind of way, not the serpents way), wrestling on the floor with my boys, and just hanging out and being involved with my church family.

Healthy eating/living have been increasingly important since giving up Ho-Ho's after college  Undecided.    Becoming a christian at age 24 has fueled much of my desire to pursue a lifestyle that is more ' of the Word ' and less 'of the world'.   It would be so much easier if we didn't actually live in the world!

Hi Bonnie, I just had to say hi to a fellow Montanan! I'm not originally from Montana either - we moved here in 2000 after my dad retired from the Air Force. I live in the Bitterroot Valley close to Missoula - this has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Hello there,
I'm new as of a couple days ago, and have posted here and there.  My name is Jill and I am a 40 year old mom of 6, ages 11 down to 5 months.  I read To Train Up and Child when my first was a tiny baby and have learned much from and laughed with the Pearls for several years now.  That's how I came across WTM.  From what I can tell, there are a lot of kindred spirits here!
I am unusual in that, Praise the Lord, I have no health issues!  Neither do my children or husband.  I have one little boy who benefits from a boost to his blood sugar from time to time, but we are a healthy, tan, freckled, active bunch around here.  All four seasons, which in MN is interesting!
Even though we are well most of the time, I am committed to staying that way!  I read everything in the world about many subjects, and health, nutrition, homeschooling, homekeeping, marriage, childtraining, cooking, and 19th century England.  All literature really!
I've had 6 uneventful pregnancies, followed by 6 superfast natural births.  God is really good because He knows I am a fuss-budget about unpleasant and hard things.
Did I mention my husband is perfect?  Oh, well he's not, but he's the best husband for an imperfect girl like me!  He just threw me the most wonderul 40th bday party.
So, despite all that rosy stuff above, I have the usual struggles of a mom at home with lots of kids.  I get grumpy, busy, fussy, and impatient.  I don't appreciate many of the good things the Lord has done for me, but I believe my outlook has improved in most areas thanks to Debi Pearl's book "Created to Be His Helpmeet".  It's NOT JUST ABOUT MARRIAGE!  It's was written about me, don't you know??? I'll be there are others who feel that way.
So, that's me.  Looking forward to new friendships and fun here at WTM.  I appreciate the attitude you all seem to have and the content of postings.  No whining, complaining or disparriaging our husbands or children.  I really love to see cheerful outlooks and encouragement from sisters around the world!

Hi.  I am Monica.  I have been a member of this forum since December but have never introduced myself.  Roll Eyes I love being a help meet to my wonderful husband Gregg and Momma to two 14 month old energentic twin girls.  We live in Western Connecticut and plan on homeschooling. I was introduced to this forum through NGJ magazine.
I am one of those girls who loves to read about homesteading  and a simple life but I don't know if I have the courage to give up all the luxuries of the 20th century.  I read and plan but haven't done anything yet.  This site has helped me start with the small things.  I am learning a great deal about health and nutrition so I have decided to start there with my quest for simplicity, although I am a little scared to go the no soap and poo route but little steps. Wink The ladies on here are great and many of the posts have made me chuckle.

Good morning everyone! I'm enjoying life with my wonderful husband and 2 wonderful kids. Smiley Found WellTellMe from reading NGJ newsletter. Thank goodness we were given TTUAC by a friend before our son was born. Then had to RE-read it & understood it better when he was over 1  Roll Eyes. Now I'm enjoying being a SAHM, the second kid is/was so much easier than the first. We're looking forward to have many more & one day moving back out into the country to try our hand at farming for fun. There is so much I want to learn like: How to raise chicken, goats, garden, can food, milk an animal, spin wool, make soap etc. etc. We would LOVE to find somewhere with enough land to have NO neighbors or road in sight. I love herbs, camping, all things natural & healthy, teaching my kids to love Jesus & being a help meet to my wonderful husband. Oh, and I already enjoy home"school"ing my little ones.  Grin

HI all,
I love this.  I have never joined a forum before and am spending way too much time reading on this.  (I really need to go clean!)  I am a homeschool mom of 2 girls. Ages 8 and 4.  I also run a daycare out of my home.  I live in Colorado with my Hubby of 6 years.   I have been on well tell me reading on how to make yougart, and solve other delimas for a while now but just joined recently.  I have already made tintures a couple times and Vinegar of the four Theives.  I love all the info I'm learning and excited to be able to share my knowledge with others who don't think I'm crazy for making my own bug spray!  (I think my hubby wonders about me)  Can't wait to learn more!!

I am FINALLY getting around to formally introducing myself on this thread.  I found out about Beeyoutiful from Rebekah's article in the NGJ magazine.  Her story was almost identical to my situation (expecting 3rd baby, no energy, etc).  I just had to try the Supermom vitamins.  Wow...what a difference!  I had my healthiest pregnancy yet.

I began lurking around the WTM forum as a guest right from the beginning, but I knew I was too busy to actually join at the time, because I would spend WAY too much time here (and it was already enticing me to give up what little free time I had).  But, I finally did join in February so I could add my own 2 cents from time to time.  And, sure enough, I am spending way too much time in here!  Cheesy  But, all in all, it's been worth it.

A little about myself...I'm a former mk (missionary kid) and current military wife.  My husband is a "command" type and is very appropriately an officer in the Marine Corps.  He has expressed a desire to move us to a more natural/less processed diet, so this website has been a blessing.  With his career he has to stay in shape, so he has a vested interest in healthy living (at least in theory...the practice often goes out the window!  Roll Eyes )  Oh well...we're trying.

We have been blessed with little girls, 5 yrs, almost 4, and 11 months.  As you may have guessed by the name, I am a musician.  Until we moved this past month, I was teaching piano lessons in my home as well as writing music from time to time.  This next year I get to add "homeschool mom" to my list of titles, so I don't think I'll be taking on students (other than my own three little musicians!).

Speaking of our move...I'm loving living in PA.  I can get raw milk with no hassle!  We visited a goat farm last week and tried goat milk for the first time, and then after church on Sunday, got invited to a family's farm.  Wouldn't you know, they have a cow and offered us a free gallon of raw milk!!  I'm making my first batch of yogurt with the last bit of it right now.

I've so enjoyed getting to "know" all of you and trying out all of these fun and crazy experiments.  Now that I've written a book, I better go.

I have browsing this site and decided to join. (My friends on ChristianUC told me about it!)  We receive the NoGreaterJoy newsletter as well and I enjoy the articles about building relationship with your children..it is soooo true.
My name is Jenni. Dh is Brian. For the past few 7 years or so I have been trying to learn more about health and how lifestyle plays a part. My Dh has an autoimmune condition since childhood called ruematoid arthritis.. of course, as a nearly 40 yr old adult, much damage has been done since he was diagnosed at age 5; however, I want to do what I can to help him manage better and also to hopefully prevent the chances of our children getting this! We home educate and dabble here and there with the typical healthy stuff. We have decided not to vaccinate, All of our children have been born naturally..most at the hospital, but 1 unassisted..due with another little one around the New Year, I have a grain mill.. I use it but should use it MORE, LOL. I am trying to learn more about herbs..hoping to make some sitz baths for my next postpartum and I have books about learning more. There is just so much to learn~! This website seems really cool and I am checking out the Nutrition section with fine tooth comb. I need some fresh ideas, LOL. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and not lurk anymore. (Hi to any of my CUC sisters who may be over here too!)
Warmly Jenni.. a.k.a Fruitful4Him

Hello,

My name is Chris.  I am the wife of Cliff (Firefighter) and the mother of Nick (9 years).  We live in MI.  A friend that I met recently over the phone told me about this website when I asked her about NT and Pickles.  I have learned a lot already and am excited about learning more from all of you.

Hi!  I am at my sister's home for a visit...(Smiling Dawn).  She referred me here and what I have read so far is great!
I enjoy learning and doing anything herbal, well forget the cayenne tincture.  Shocked
I think I am the # 1 customer at http://www.learningherbs.com/ and that is how I started on this journey of natural health.
I have been married for almost 14 years to my best friend, homeschool our two boys, have one dog, one fish, and 140,000 honey bees.
Looking forward to increasing my knowledge here!

Ladies:

I thought since I have made myself at home here, that I would properly introduce myself.  My name is Linda and I have 6 wonderful children with #7 being perfected as I write.  We homeschool and love it.  I am so excited to have found this forum - I'm quite computer illiterate, but am trying.  I found this haphazardly through beeyoutiful.com.  I love their products btw.  We are born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We live in hot, hot Florida, where nothing grows....although I purchased some garden boxes which are due to arrive soon!  Hopefully, they will produce something, anything will do!  My kids are jonesing to plant something that will live!   I frequent Above Rubies (actually I have an article printed in #67),  an Encouraging Word Magazine, and off course all the Pearl's stuff.  I am trucking along in this life, very much a stranger.  My family  (brothers and sisters) think I'm Amish cuz' I bake my own bread and have more than 2.3 kids!  I hope to continue to gleen much from this group of prayer warriors, intelligent, loving women!  I am very excited  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I realized that I've never done this . . .

I've been blessed by this site since last summer.

Thank you all so much for the information here!!!!  I am so thankful for the things I have learned.

Hubby says not to give much personal info, so I can't really say specifics, but I am married to a very sweet Mr. Steady (with tinges of Visionary!  Cheesy)

I have had Type 1 diabetes for 9 years (I think!)

We recently moved out of my parents house and into a beautiful cabin in the middle of nowhere.  It has truly been a blessing to us!  We know have lots of chickens and peeps and I'm learning a lot about country life.

I first heard about No Greater Joy from an old friend.  What a unique family and what a sweet outlook they have on life!  I have benefitted greatly from their wisdom.  I got on the NGJ website and found the Bulk Herb Store - WOW!!  I am a plant NUT and I had never known I could do "real" stuff with the herbs I had in my garden!!  I am a major woods wanderer - I love finding out what plants are around me.  From there I started buying up herbalism books and collecting wild herbs and making salves and tinctures.  They actually work - praise the Lord! (And thank you, Pearls!!)

Then I bought Nourishing Traditions. . .  boy did that change a few things!!  What a blessing.  Our friends think our ways are a little odd, but they love us anyway!

I was a secretary before I was married.  I did all the regular stuff and also created websites from scratch and did lots of design/layout work.  I have had absolutely no training in any of this but the Lord really gave me what I needed, when I needed it.

Now I am a SAHM and am learning even more - and the Lord continues to be so faithful, giving me what I need, when I need it.  I can't wait to get some gardens and more animals going at my "new" place, but it'll be a while since we have NO MONEY!!!!!

Aside from plants, I really enjoy crocheting/knitting, stenciling, and reading, and watching our chickens!  My next big project is going to be soap making.  I can't wait!

I am so blessed by family that LOVE Jesus and love us.  We are striving to bring this love to everyone around us.

Again, thank you for your help.
