I have a good report for this site.... look at how much I have learned just from reading all your smart/educated posts.

Case: My Dad (who is from a line of MDs) had an enlarged thyroid (they think).  He went to a doc, doc prescribed antibiotics (Dad didn't even have an abnormal white-blood-cell count).
I said: "Dad you really shouldn't take antibiotics unless you know you have an infection."
Dad: "Kristen, docs study for years, they know what they are talking about."
Kristen: "Okay!"

Five days later he starting having stomach problems (diarrhea, vomitting, etc).  Over the next week he got increasingly worse.  During the middle of all this (about a week ago).  I said "Dad, I have been reading about antibiotics.  They can get rid of all the good bacteria in your GI tract.  That is probably what is wrong. You need some probiotics.  I know of a product called Tummy Tune-Up.  Do you want me to order some for you?"
Dad: "No, Kristen, I can't do anything the doc doesn't want me to do."
------By the way, he was still taking the antibiotics.
Over the next 4 or 5 days he got worse and worse until he had to go to the hospital to be re hydrated (I am 9 hours away---I would have made him better Smiley )

Doc's final diagnosis: "The antibiotic you were taking got rid of all the good bacteria in your GI tract, and let other things take over (bad bacteria).  Here are some antibiotics to kill all the bad bacteria."

He is staying another night, but feeling fine.

Ughhh

edited: He ended up being in the hospital for a week!  Shocked

You can break him HealthyBratt!  Smiley
Just keep at it!
Fortunately, my Dad is not ill often.  The last time he has been sick at all was Appendicitis, around 7 years ago.
He just believes too much in the wisdom of men (docs especially).... "A pill can fix anything!"   Tongue

I just wanted to take the time to tell all of you thankyou.

From the sponsors of WTM, the staff, the advertisers to the casual browser -- you have all blessed me so abundantly. I have been filled to overflowing by the opportunity to interact with all of you. It has been a JOY to be able to come here each day and see the musings of others who ENJOY learning how we can best care for this gift of life that God has given.

This site has been one of the ways God has shown me that He can use me right where I am. It has been a humbling experience as I realize His love for me is far greater than I ever did (or ever could) imagine.

I see Him growing you, too. I see young, overwhelmed mommies encouraged and lifted up. I see strangers reaching out to pray for and support others. I see compassion and love shown here, and it reminds me that He has His remnant.

So, this Thanksgiving, along with the uncountable blessings for which I give thanks, WellTellMe will be added to the list. God Bless!

I wanted to say that the folks here are amazing! From people taking a chance on me by letting me draw for them in exchange for needed items, to people who just sent things to me and wouldn't even let me pay for the shipping... I am flabbergasted by the wonderful, people here! I've never seen anything like this community anywhere else on the net.

i was trying to help a good Christian friend of mine the other night, who has been plagued by sickness in her family since Dec. 1.  you name it they have had it.  i was sharing with her some remedies that i have learned here, and i wanted so badly to give her Welltellme as a gift.  they don't have internet at home, and husband and wife have many symptoms that need attention.  anyway, i just can't believe what a huge blessing this has been to me and my family, in less than one year it has changed so much about my life and is turning my whole family's health in a new direction.  thanks so much to all who contribute to welltellme!  it is such a blessing, i wish i could wrap it and give it to people, as the world needs the information we all have at our fingertips.  love you all.   Cheesy

Thank you to all, being part of the WTM group is WONDERFUL. Thanks esp to Gabe, Beka, Steph & Steve for starting & maintaining the site- & to HB of course for putting in so much time & making us all behave. Wink Cheesy Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Thanks also to Valodim for all the work he has put in lately w/the upgrade. I'm sure it takes a lot to keep a site like this going & it's appreciated so much.

It is wonderful to be able to share in a group where I don't have to defend my lifestyle choices & where the others are like minded. We may not always agree, but as the bible says, one man (or woman) sharpens another & we could ALWAYS use sharpening. I have learned so much from all of you & I love being able to help others.

Like SC said, God is using this to teach me that he can use me right where I am & using my interactions with all of you to teach, stretch & mold me to be more like Christ. As I've said to a few of you, God has me in "boot camp." I too, see others growing & learning.

How I wish WTM had been around when my oldest child was a baby & I was young & disagreeing w/the Drs. cause they didn't know what was wrong w/him & what ideas they did have didn't agree w/what I could see happening to him every day. That's what got me started on nat. medicine & I could have save a lot of time & frustration with something like WTM to turn to.

WTM is a Godly community in the best sense of the words. We are only a small piece of God's remnant but the love, prayers & support we give each other is small taste of heaven on earth. Thanks to all. Blessings & Love in Christ. ~herbalmom

I have not posted much, but I have to share our miracle!

I started out this (my 4th) pregnancy with a low platelet count due to an autoimmune disease.  My count was 30,000 platelets at the beginning.  With a count this low it would be dangerous to give birth, as the platelets clot the blood and I didn't have enough to clot!  I started taking Supermom, Blue-Green Algae and Colostrum Transfer Factor; my natural Dr. recommended these to boost my immune system.  Each month I would have my platelet count checked and it started raising month by month.  4 weeks before due date I had 128,000 platelets, then 2 days before due date it dropped to 109,000.  My OB Dr. decided to induce 5 days later.  Before they started potocin they checked by platelets again and they had jumped to 167,000.  Mine have not been that high in over 3 years!!!  One nurse commented that God was getting my body ready for delivery!  We had a 7 lb. 1 oz. girl - Hosanna Joy!!!  When she was 12 hours old, they checked my platelets again and I had 179,000!  It has been 3 weeks since her birth and I would report very normal afterbirth bleeding for me.  My count is now 133,000 which is remarkable.  My hematologist is amazed.  I praise God for His goodness and His healing!  I also want to thank all of you involved with Well Tell Me.  I gained a lot of encouragement just getting on here and reading.  Thanks to Beeyoutiful for their products and wisdom.  May God continue to bless each one of you who takes the time to research and answer questions for those of us who are new to the scene of Alternative Medicines.

WOW!  That's insane!

I will also add a "Thank you" to this thread.  This site has given me SO much confidence that Gd is giving me everything I need to take care of my family.

I was reared by a tipical working middle class family in the world.  We were churched, and my folks are very much in love.  I went to public school and mom stayed home for periods and worked for periods, at our school, etc.  She was fabulous at going on every field trip I ever went on.  She encouraged me that I could be a doctor, lawyer, pharmacist or flight attendant (something she thought would be cool).

But she did not encourage me in domestic skills, and she does most things herself because she can do them faster.  She did not teach me how to cook or about whole foods, herbs, or juggling kids with managing a household.  I've been overwhelmed since the birth of my second son.

But the vitamins from BeeYoutiful have given me SOOOOO much energy, and the ladies on this forum have given me so much love and insight and encouragement.  I have become an amazing cook (so says my husband) and I've been able to treat my family's allergies & ailments with herbs.  How much money have you saved me on skipping doctor visits?!

We have switched to raw meat and dairy with local farmers and joined 2 co-ops that I found through this site.  I would have never have been able to afford to feed my family organically without these resources.

We're still tight on money, and we frequently go without new "stuff."  But y'all have really helped me keep my priorities straight and I am so grateful.  I used to worry about things, if I was doing enough, and now I have SO much peace and joy and fulfillment.  Muchas Gracias, WellTellMe.

My DH has been working nights since Jan., and we only have one car right now. Being able to chat with some of you, and discuss things has been so helpful to me in not going crazy!   Roll Eyes Hubby really appreciates this webpage, and what it has done for me!  Wink  We love what you all do! Keep up the good work!
