you're 5 feet 8 inches and only 110 lbs at 7 months pregnant?
did I read that right?
that part would be my concern.
as to being behind in your belly size. i was always 2 weeks or so behind and my midwife would worry and all that jazz and I popped out 9lbs, 9 4, and 8 2

One curious thing w/ my last PG was that I measured small all along, had my smallest baby (7.4, I think), and the placenta was VERY small (?).

The MW and I think a lot of it was due to being GF...I did struggle to eat enough protein, flirting w/ symptoms of PE at one point, but all turned out well, praise God.

I'm just curious about why being GF would affect the size of the placenta and baby.  I guess I assumed that being GF during a pregnancy would make everything healthier?

I don't know, MG...that was the only theory we had and never looked into it.  I never had that issue w/ the other 3 and in almost 20 yrs. of work, it was one of the smallest she could recall.  Huh  I may have been one of the 1st GF Moms she had, too.

Perhaps it made things efficient?  Baby was fine....maybe it was the low protein?   Undecided

I just found out today at my Drs. visit that I'm measuring further behind than I thought. This is baby #2. I'm 39 weeks today, and I'm measuring 35 wks. I've consistently been measuring 2 wks. behind throughout the pregnancy, but last week I was  3 wks. behind and this week I was 4 behind. So the Dr. scheduled an ultrasound in 2 days to see how the placenta is doing and if there's enough amniotic fluid.

With baby #1 I was measuring 36 weeks when I was 40 weeks, and I was typically 2 wks behind with him too. My midwife seems to think I just grow slowly at the end and have small babies. #1 was born at 42 wks. weighing 7.4 lbs. She didn't seem worried about baby #2, but she said just to wait and see what the ultrasound said.

What can cause babies to grow slow in the end, and if something is up with the ultrasound...what are the options?? Induction or c-section or what? I don't really know if I should be concerned or not?

Okay, this is an update. I had the ultrasound (biophysical profile) at 39 wks. because I was measuring small, around 4 weeks behind I think. It said there was plenty of fluid and the placenta looked good, but it estimated his weight to be 8lbs. 10oz. Whoa!!! My first was 7.4 and that's a huge difference especially since I was only 39 wks. and I tend to go late. Anyway, Isaiah ended up being born at 41 wks. weighing 8.3 which is still a big difference from Judah. Anyway, just goes to show that measuring small doesn't always mean a small baby. Some people just carry that way.

Meagan, I did the same with my first one.  I measured small for weeks before I delivered an 8lb 5 oz baby.

Isn't that crazy. I couldn't believe it when they told me he weighed 8.3! I guess I was expecting somewhere around 1/2 lb. bigger than my first which was 7.4. I'm definitly glad the ultrasound estimate was off though! I would have been delivering an almost 10 pounder!
