Ways to make the intestines INHOSPITABLE to amoebas/parasites?
« on: August 02, 2008, 06:16:30 AM » by JoyH
Are there ways to make the intestines INHOSPITABLE to amoebas/parasites?

We live in Asia and my husband frequently gets "stomach problems."  These are related to somehow eating or drinking contaminated water OUTSIDE of our home.  The rest of our family, who rarely eat outside of our home, rarely get sick.

Is there someway we can be proactive to reduce/eliminate this problem?

Thanks,
Joy

1)  Stop eating outside the home.   Wink
2)  Kill any existing parasites and/or yeast.
3)  Heal his gut from any existing holes from previous infections of parasites and/or yeast.
4)  Feed him probiotics daily (supplements, kimchee, kombucha, yogurt, kefir)
5)  Feed his immune system (omega 3s, cod liver oil, fish oil, oily fish)

Can you explain your number three to me?  "Heal his gut from any existing holes (!!)"  and how would you know yeast is involved?  He does not have thrush or any other symptoms of yeast that I am familiar with.

Are fresh water fish considered "oily fish?"  We live in Nepal and can only get fresh water fish, but we never buy them.  I can't run down to a health store (aren't any), so I'm wondering about the omega 3's in real life foods.  I understand a little of what they are from my beginnings of reading Nourishing Traditions.  (haven't gotten too far into it yet)

Probiotics, we can do yogurt.  I can also get something called "gundruk" which would be the equivalent to kimchee/sourkraut, I believe.  We never eat that either, though.  Any other ideas on the probiotics line?

Thanks so much for your help and quick reply!
