Leptin, Glutathione and Weight Loss...

A friend has recently been telling me how she found out about the leptin and glutathione "connection" and how she lost 35lb in 3 months by eating a better diet and taking supplements for these functions. I read a book she loaned me on the Leptin, called The Leptin Connection, and I am going to read a book on glutathione. I have found this information to be very interesting. What I would like to know is, does anyone know of a natural herb(s) that I can take to help these function better? The supplements she is taking are not that good for you from what I read, and I think one of them has aspartame or some other bad for you sugar in it.

This is interesting because Life Extension recently had an article about leptin and they started putting out a supplement that is supposed to deal with this issue. I have been sooooooo tempted to try it but haven't because I wondered if it was "just another pill" they were trying to sell. I totally understand the leptin connection I just wasn't sure about their supplement. This is the one I was looking at: http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item21477/Lepti-Trim.html

I would be curious too if anyone else knows anything else about this.

I tried the lepti-trim a few yrs ago, actually. I did lose a little weight, but couldn't keep taking it cause it affected me badly in my head. I felt like I was going psycho. Literally. I was desperate to lose weight but not that desperate. I gave it away to a friend who had no reaction to it but also lost no weight, even though she is very overweight.
I believe it works for some, but definitely not all.

That is not the same product my friend is taking. What I would like to eventually find out is what herbs I can take instead of the pills that are sold KWIM? My friend is also interested in knowing because she would like to know that also.
