  Augmentin question

I have a five year old who has never had an antibiotic, but several days ago she was bitten by a tick and contracted lyme disease so to the dr we went and she prescribed AUgmentin.  6 doses in, my daughter develops a mild , very itchy rash.  the itch comes and goes. Apparently this is a mild side effect of the augmentin.  I am giving probiotics .  My question is this, I have no benadryl on hand and it is late, so can you use a bendadryl stick on the rash to help the itching or does she need the benadryl internally?

I loathe ticks!

you can try it on the rash.  It probably won't make the rash go away because the inflammation is internal, but it will ease the itch.
