My tongue hurts

Does anyone know what to do for a sore tongue. My tongue is killing me when I eat or talk. It is rather patchy and a bit swollen. I know that chinese medicine doctors look at the tongue to see what is going on but I haven't made an appointment yet. Does anyone know what to do for the symptoms until I get to the doctor? Thanks. Are you eating a lot of acidy foods? My mom gets a sore tongue from pineapple,mangoes and a few other fruits.

Same thing happens to me sometimes if I (call me weird if you want) drink too much coffee Huh

, eat a lot of acidic foods, or a lot of salty stuff. Don't know if this is your problem but when it happens to me, my tastebuds along the sides of my tongue look bigger and inflamed (really red). I just ease off the offending food or beverage and after a couple days I'm better. I have trouble talking and eating when it happens because it gets so sore.

I have had a "sore" tongue for a while now. It mostly just feels strange and it's definitely patchy. I think mine is a symptom of toxicity in my body (especially sluggish liver). I really need to do some kind of cleanse, but I am still nursing right now, so it is more difficult. When I was pregnant and had to take a bunch of chlorophyll and Floradix the last few weeks I had to be careful to only take several small doses spread throughout the day. If I took too much at once I would start to detox and feel really, really bad. However, every time this happened, my tongue looked much better the next day. Don't know if that helps, it's just my experience.

Born-an-okie,

It sounds like you have a yeast infection(thrush) in your mouth. Here is a recipe for combatting that. See if it helps:
