Long vine w/ heart-shaped leaves and tuber

This is from a friends house. This is growing wild. Long vine. My MIL thought it is some type of sweet potato vine because of the "little tuber". The friend thought it looked similar to a purple pea.

Does the long vine's leaves grow opposite each other or alternate along the vine?

The heart-shaped leaf reminds me of Morning Glory, but the tuber throws me off.

Where does it grow (state)?

It is called Air Potato vine (or heart potato vine). It is a very invasive plant here in Naples FLorida. The "potatoes" grow off the vine then drop in the fall. Then they sprout new vines come spring. My neighbors yard is over taken by them and we have to fight them three out of the four seasons....if you live in the osuth try to take care fo them asapm or you will regret it later when they have taken over your yard. Also, I guess you should not mow over the tubers since they will break up and make even more vines. Just pull up the vine and try to get the potateo int he ground and throw away.

I have no idea what black bryony is, but it looks just like the air potatoe growing in our yard.
They aren't bad in the allergy or poison sense, just invasive. But some people in northern climate try to grow this vine...our climate it just to friendly for it.
