Is garlic safe for a 7 month old? Possible pinworms and fungal rashes.

I think my family may have pin worms and we're starting treatment today. But my 7 month old is too small for the medicine. Can I give him small amount of garlic in he sweet potatoe's? I've been putting a probiotic from metagenics in them for a fungal rash he's had on his face for 3 months and it hasn't cleared. Any suggestions? Thanks

I would test out a small amount of lavender essential oil. The trick here is it is the face, don't want to get it in the eyes. So, be very careful. But as far as the skin goes lavender on the skin shouldn't bother him at all and can clear that up if it is indeed a fungus.

I have used the lavender essential oil on my babies temples, carefully avoiding the eyes.

And if you were to make garlic oil it is safe for rubbing on the skin and will go into the blood stream I would think this would help both problems. Maybe rub the garlic oil on the lower tummy. It is worth a shot. I have always used garlic oil on my babies, never had a problem with it. I wouldn't give it to my baby to eat though, just seems to harsh. All my babies were a tad sensitive to foods though, and would get gassy from things like that.

Thank you for the suggestion. What a great idea. I'll give it a try. If the family does have pin worms, I doubt he does as he sleeps in his crib next to us. I thnk our 4 year old may have picked them up at church nursery.

I've given raw garlic to my 7 month old with no problems. To eat I mean. She had two very small pieces on a spoon behind some food and she didn't even flinch (or spit) when she got it. No problems with fussiness or nappy rash either. Try it out and see. You can be adding roast garlic to their meals all the time now too.

I always gave my babies Kyolic garlic extract if they need it. It's easy to take and isn't spicey. I also rub garlic oil on their necks and chests. If they were nursing, I'd eat lots of it myself.
