Cough-ongoing sickness--nasal

Help! Our family has been sick since the first week of August. We've all been to the dr., doesn't seem to be the flu bug, but we just can't get rid of something nasal--either congestion, drainage, or runny nose. And there always seems to be someone coughing. It will go away for a few days, and then someone in the family starts again. We have 6 in our family. We've been taking Vitamin C, Grapefruit Seed Extract, and taking an occasional ginger bath. We've all been on antibiotics --don't scream!--:-) At the beginning, I tried to take Elderberry--using lozenges--didn't know about anything else, but that didn't seem to do much good at all. Actually, I wondered if it was causing my stomach to hurt--but that could have been something else (I wasn't on antibiotics at the time).

What basic routine should I be doing to help get rid of this? Right when I think we're all getting better, someone gets stopped up again (nasal) or starts coughing (congested) all of a sudden. Please help!!!!!!javascript:void(0);

No sugar.
No white flour.
No milk or dairy for a couple of days unless it's kefir.
No red meat.
Lots of water with a squeeze of lemon in it.

Lobelia, mullen, MSM, and a good quality Vitamin C from a grocery store are all great for coughs.
Grapefruit peels boiled and made into a tea is reported to be great, but I've never tried it.

Cod Liver Oil is a great supplement to help get over coughs and colds.

Lots and lots of raw garlic is great too. If you are serious about getting over this, try garlic every 2-3 hours.

A really good probiotic with the Cod Liver Oil for about a month should help you get your immune system back up again. The antibiotic probably killed off the good bacteria in your system, so that now it isn't working like it should.
