I successfully mirrored 7xsunday and WTM with the spiderzilla program about a year ago when I had limited internet access. I simply updated the websites every time I went to the library.

I hope you can find something else... if you used ubuntu instead of windows they have spderzilla that isn't just for on firefox.  Huh

I can use either IE or Firefox 'cause I have both loaded on my 'puter but I don't think adding a 3rd browser to my 'puter would be a good idea right now & likely DH wouldn't be too happy about it either.  Wink

So since I'm doing this by the rush, seat of my pants, crash course as I go  method right now what are my options.

Current Firefox

IE with XP Op Sys

Thanks for the help.

i love WTM and think it's a great service! i would be more than willing to pay a yearly fee to keep it up and running.  i especially love being able to go back through old posts to see what has worked for different ailments.  i would so miss this place! love you all! Christy

The cookbooks will be coming out.  The gal making them had an emergency c-section delivering her baby 6 or 8 weeks early and had to have baby in a hospital a long way from home because of NICU.  Baby is doing well and they are flying her back to a local hospital but mom and baby have been a *little* busy.   Grin  I don't expect to see Kate be able to get back to the cookbooks for awhile.  I am going to work with her on taking over the printing/selling them because she's going to have her hands full for a bit.  I'll try and get with her this week and move the printing forward.  It's all done.  Just needs to be printed.

WOULD SOME ONE PLEASE PUT A CLEAR DONATE HERE LINK!

I understand that you dont want us to just give to keep wtm going, but if this information had come to me in a book I would have had to pay for it . Even from the library it isnt "free" (tax dollars, hello!). I am feeling a conviction from God for not doing my part, I wanted to buy one of those heart thingies, but never got around to it.  Sad

God expects us to care for our brothers and sisters and when some one is in need we are to give. But the catch is we have to know about it to give and yes it could been not listening to God's leadings on our part, but it is also nice to be told point blank by a person "I need help". If a post saying some one eles needs to take over this site or we need $$ to keep it running was point blank posted with a direct link on how to take action, I can assure you we would have all stepped up and done our part.

I feel like my most trusted and wisest friends just walked up and said "I am sorry we can't be friends anymore, it is nothing you did, I just can't be your friend anymore. And by the way there is nothing you can do to fix it"

WTM is priceless I dont depend on my family doctor, cookbooks, or parenting books nearly as much as I do this site. I rank it up there with my local church and family. My husban kids and I need this site to stay!

I think a members only area with a fee is a great idea!!! Also not charging for advertising is not right to do, you are offering a service and should get paid (that is how i thought this site was ran). Unless God specificly told you do not charge, then that should be the way the site is paid for.... After all when you give it all away then you starve for not keeping some back to feed your family (You have to have balance in all things).

The WTM store has not been functional for quite some time, has it been brought back up?

Great minds you know!

Seriously though, Beka told me several months ago that the store was down and Gabe stated that it was down in some of his comments.  Kristen, do you know something they don't?

Sorry for pushing anyone to put too fine a point on it, but I just wanted to get some confirmation that the WTM Store is, in fact, not functional? I ask because I actually tried to order something from it a few days ago, and I backed out at the last minute due to procrastination but it let me get almost to the last step with the payment screen.

Also there's a little tag that says "New Products For September" so I don't know what that's all about lol. Most likely I'm missing something.  Embarrassed

Post # 23 from yesterday=no store...from the mouth of the man himself.
Awhile ago a link was set up for donations through the WTM store. It hasn;t been working for last few months. Could that be resolved? We have wished to contribute and maybe should have pursued a mailed donation earlier.
Yeah... the WTM store never took off. It is funny how much we invested in that and I was opposed in amazing and bizarre ways at many a junction (not by anyone here... possibly by God if I understand right... in any case it was pretty fundamental in bringing us to where we are today).

Anyway... I need to remove the store link. It does not work now, and probably never will.

Thanks.

Hello, everyone!

I understand everyone feels a bit jipped by the announcement that 7xS and WTM may be coming to a close.  Just a reminder that Gabe HAS said that all the AMAZING info here on WTM won't be forever lost in cyberspace.  (Thanks, Gabe!)

Also, I would exhort you ALL to listen to this message as it may be the catalyst for this event.  You may better understand the NATURE of this potential ending of 7xS.

Thats all!

Wow! So sorry to hear. I had a baby 8 weeks early in a hospital far from home-it's hard but it sounds like the outcome is positive though and for that I am thankful!

CLARIFICATION
For clarity, I'd like to address a few misconceptions:

1) Gabe has specifically said he does not want anyone's money. What has been given was given freely. If someone feels led to give, they should do as unto the Lord and in whatever direction they feel led of HIM to give -- that may not necessarily be towards Gabriel Anast.

2) Gabe and Beka are not the only ones that have given (although they have done the major portion). I know of several individuals that have invested time WITHOUT pay and money (and I'm not including myself or Duke in that number) all in hopes that these sites would be used to help others. These individuals did not take from their local fellowship to do this. Most of the administrators and moderators of this site live very simply for the benefit of others.

3) The guidelines of 7xSunday exist as they do in the form that they do to make it an efficiently functioning topical forum. The final authority on topics is the Word. It is not (and never has been promoted as) a 'church.' Rather, it is a place where believers discuss topics online.

It has been interesting to observe the armchair quarterbacking and second guessing about the motives and competence of individuals that have done nothing more than give lavishly to others. That season for the Anast family has passed. He could have just let things expire. Rather, he offered an explanation (to be critiqued by others) and little defense of himself.

The amazing thing that I know about these two is that they would do it all again and encourage all that have participated to bring their best to the table again. To love well and believe the best and to encourage others to do the same. They would say to be patient with those that misconstrue the facts that are there for all to read.

Well then, no wonder people think they're off their rockers! I for one will be eternally grateful for people that aren't afraid to be thought crazy as they chase after what they believe God would have them do.

May their tribe increase.
