  My 9 year complains of his face sweating when he eats olives and pickles

This is certainly not a big problem, but I'm curious - my nine year old son says that his face starts sweating every time he eats olives and pickles - the other day it happened when he ate grapes.  Any idea what would cause this?  It seems to just be his face...  Curious!

Never heard of it but my girls say that their tongues get thick when they eat cantalope and sometimes cucumbers.

One son told the Dr. that his back hurt every time he ate row carrots!! No kidding!

I thought of this thread today. Could he be allergic to one of the preservatives?
I suspect I have  a sensitivity to oats and had some today. Unsoaked at that.  Embarrassed Always I have a flushed feeling in my face, like being too hot even though the rest of my body feels normal besides tummy troubles.

My father has the same thing when he eats anything with vinegar.  It seems harmless, but sounds like a simple food allergy/intolerance.
