  Pregnant with a nasty cold!

I am 19 weeks pregnant with twins and I have a horrible cold. Is there anything I can take that will ease the discomfort as well as let me sleep at night? Any and all suggestions are VERY welcomed!

Garlic is always my first choice.

If you take raw garlic every four hours all day long, that will be a big help.  You won't smell very pretty, but if your cold is bad enough, you won't notice.  Cheesy
Probiotics or yogurt is also awesome.

Stay completely away from sugar, white flour, dairy, and red meat.

Add a little fresh lemon to your water and drink it all day long.

A garlic poultice every night!  Keep it on your chest as long as you can possibly stand it, moving it around as needed.

Slightly incline your pillow so that your congestion can drain instead of just sit there clogging and festering all night.  I am always amazed at how much this one thing helps. 

Eucalyptus oil is wonderful stuff.  Just the scent of it is antiviral/bacterial/fungal.  I use it on a cotton ball or washcloth by my pillow, or if you have a humidifier with the oil infusion well, then that would be even better.

French onion soup is also great for reducing inflammation in colds.  Also, a tea made from grapefruit (rind and all) is wonderful for getting over congestion/chest issues.

Here is how to make it from my notes:
"Grapefruit peel tea is easy! Just peel a grapefruit. Boil a pot of water, like you're making tea. Put 1/2 or more of the grapefruit peel into the boiling water. Turn off the heat and let it sit for a while-at least 5 minutes. Drink away. You can add honey, if you want the extra germ fighting power, but the plain tea is fine by itself. It's the easiest, most effective remedy I know!!!~Skelliott2

I also squeeze the juice from the grapefruit into the pan water and then boil it with the peel for about 5 minutes before removing it from the heat. ~Dixiemom"
