Red Root, Uses etc...

After reading Herbal Antibiotics I've decided to add Red Root (Ceanothus) to the herbs that I use routinely as it seems to have some really wonderful attributes. I'm not incredibly familiar with it, and haven't, that I know of, seen it growing anywhere.
From Herbal Antibiotics (paraphrased)

Quote

Actions: a lymph system stimulant, anti-inflammatory, and tonic. Also astringent, mucous membrane tonic, alterative, antiseptic, expectorant, antispasmodic, and blood coagulant.
It seems to help encourage the removal of dead cellular tissue from the lymph system, and seems to accentuate the action of echinacea when used together.
There seem to be few contraindications with caution to those on anti-coagulant therapy or pregnancy maily due to the coagulating effects.

I tinctured this herb and also separately made an echinacea and licorice root ones that I plan to combine in equal parts to use for colds and flus. Herbal Antib recommends taking a dropperful of the 3 blended herbs every hour with the onset of upper respiratory symptoms.

Mrs B, I have been look at the Echinacea/Red Root/Licorice Combo in the Herbal Antibiotics also.

Let us know how it works!

They also have an ear infection tincture recipe that is similar to that one. I think he says Red Root and Echincea go really good together. Red Root is a lymph-cleaning herb.
