My poor baby sitting on my lap jumped a mile high when I suddenly laughed at your post. My Mom HATES nicknames. We were what we were named. Guess that is why I have nothing to post in the nickname thread.
I have a friend who refers to her children when talking to them as "Go ask Brother or Sister" I feel like it is from the Berenstein books.
Anyway, Nikole. I have to admit, getting to know you has been easier since your name is the same as your user name. But hey, in my defense, if you ever meet me, you'll be able to pronouce "mishy" instead of my much abused real name.

Everyone, IF WE DO MEET: You KNOW you WILL have to introduce yourself as your USERNAME. OTherwise we will all just be looking like this little guy: Huh

When our boy was 6 or 7, my man brought home a tiny dirt bike. I thought it was cute and had NO idea a sport involving racing the things existed. Of course, our boy loved motocross. Our daughter and I really had no desire to become involved until the boys dragged us to a Supercross race in Anaheim (they had to promise us Disney first!) and we were both hooked. That was several years ago and we still love it. It is a sport that is truly family oriented and we have met so many good people. Amazingly, there are many good Christian folk who are involved, hence we get prayers and devotions before each race on Sundays.

Anyways, mx is short for motocross.

P.S. My son is reading this over my shoulder and wants you all to know he can jump over 100 feet Shocked

!! No shyness here.

My parents are both from Vermont (and lots of my relatives are still in Quebec). The first time my mom saw my dad in highschool, he had a big patch over his cheek because he had been hit with..... you guessed it! A hockey puck. Cheesy

I agree that Mishy looks like a Rachel, but not like any Rachel I know (which is several).
I picked my username because I work at Plumline Freight Services, Inc., and I'm a girl. I was going to be SaratogaFlamingo, but I use that for everything, and I didn't realize when I registered that I could use the same name as 7xsunday, which is doodlebug.

My user name just kind fr happened. Marr is my last name. When we lived in Mexico, our email address was "MexicoMarrs." It was too long, and eventually merged into mexmarr. It is our username for EVERYTHING.

I wondered if we should change it, since we are back in the states, but I lived there nearly half of my life, and the "Mex" is stuck.

By the way, my name is Misty. I think there is another Misty out there, too.

I think this is a great thread. I had wondered where everyone got their names. When I started homeschooling my kids wanted a school name. Since we are a Christian home and my name is Dawn, we decided they would be Dawn's Sonbeams. It fit nicely and spelled that way it became our testimony too. Of course they chose the song "I'll Be A Sunbeam for Jesus" as our school motto. Anyway, I use that name for everything now. It's easy to remember and I'm very forgetful.
