Did any of you know you were going to miscarry before the bleeding and cramps?  I was just wondering what the signs were, like, do you start losing all your pregnancies symptoms such as sore breasts and nausea?  Or are you unable to tell until the bleeding and cramping start?  I'm so very sorry to all of you for your losses.  I know that the Lord will get you all through it with His grace and mercy and love.

I didn't know until the doctor tried to find the heartbeat and couldn't.  She did an ultrasound and saw that the baby had died a couple weeks ago.  I had a lot of nausau, and it was getting better at the time, but my mom told me later that she thought I had gotten over the sickness too fast, so I guess that was the only sign.

I also didn't know until the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat. My morning sickness and breast tenderness had gone away, but I was 12 weeks and that's when those symptoms normally disappear for me.

What if you're not far enough along for there to be a heartbeat yet?  What if you're only like two or three weeks?  Do you think you'd lose the symptoms first then start bleeding or would it just all happen at once?

I recently suffered a miscarriage, too.  I have had five dream pregnancies and this one seemed to be going just like all the others. We decided to tell the boys(all our children are boys.) one evening and about 30 minutes later I started bleeding.  The cramps began a few minutes later.  I immediately went to bed and stayed for a couple of weeks. The cramping would come and go but I still had all the pregnancy systems that I normally had.  Some of my friends said their symptoms went away before any bleeding started, though. I didn't bleed anymore after that first time and it wasn't very much so I was hopeful but 10 days later I began bleeding and passing small pieces of tissue.  It was very sad but our precious Lord Jesus drew very near and He comforted me. This was less than two weeks ago. I am still dealing with all the emotions.

I said all this to say everybodies situation can be different.

I remain hopeful of conceiving again but I am very thankful for all my blessings.

I went to the doctor today because I thought I may have been getting a infection.  He told me to take progesterone for 15 days.  I did a topic search on progesterone but I couldn't find exactly what it is and why would he want me to take it?  I should have asked more questions but I was upset yesterday.  Will that just make my body go more crazy?  Thank you for your prayers I appreciate it.  I know God is Good.  To answer the above question my first pregnancy I had no idea I miscarried until the ultrasound. I had no symptoms.

I am also interested in this question. I may be in the pre-cursor of having a miscarriage. I am over 10 days late for my period and am having pain (look at "diagnosis me please.....these are my symptoms" thread).

I'm not sure what to do or what to expect.  Undecided

Kristin, if I were in your position I would take a home pregnancy test as soon as possible.  The reason being I wouldn't necessarily attribute your symptoms to miscarriage as quickly as I would to some kind of infection and you want to know if you are pregnant or not before treating an infection.

For what it's worth I'll share my miscarriage symptoms though everyone seems to be a little different.  The first two were at 8 and 10 weeks and I never knew they were coming until I started spotting with the first and bleeding profusely with the second. Some light cramping after the bleeding started.  I never really felt pregnant with those two (for the 4 children who have been born to me I had 3 months of all-day nausea) so there weren't any symptoms like nausea to go away.  The last one (2 weeks ago) was at 17 weeks and it started with some bleeding and menstrual-type cramps which then proceeded to a 5 1/2 hour labor.  I did lose all of the pregnancy symptoms just as the bleeding started with this last one.  I never ran a fever or had any of the other symptoms that you mention.  But that's just me.

I hope you're feeling better soon and that it's nothing too serious.

Just want you to know that I am praying for you. I had two children and then had four miscarraiges after the first two.I used a combination of herbal tinctures to make my womb hospitable and then I (off the record ) saw a close friend of hubbys and mine who is now a surgeon but was a fertility specialist for years .He seemed to think that my body had built up antibodies against my hubby and I was "allergic " to my hubbys sperm.Hence my body would get rid of any baby I was carrying because half of it was hubby and my immune system would kick into antibody mode. Anyway he gave me a precription for two rounds of corticosteriods to weaken my immune system and bingo ,I was pregnant within my next cycle ,then I ended up getting pregnant again only 2 months after that baby was born.So dont give up hope there are many causes for miscarraige and often a little thing is all that is needed to correct the problem.

Helen, I am sorry for your losses.  I don't have anything medically to offer you but I wanted to encourage you with surrender.
Lately I've been learning that often God waits until we're finished trying something in our own strength and then He comes through with His amazing power.
I've been listening to a preacher/missionary teach about how with each one of his kids he almost lost them and just as they were dying he would hear the Lord telling him to give them to Him.  To surrender "his right" to have any children.  And once he did the child would immediately improve and get well.
Creating life is God's work.  All of our teas, vitamins and methods can't create anything.  I know you know this so I hope I don't sound condescending! Undecided
You and I have to be willing to never have another child if that is the Lord's will.

Do you suffer from bacterial infections?  Such as vaginosis.  My friend has constant bac. infections and has had at least 3 miscarriages.  Her doctor said there has been studies that link the two.  There is a thread on here that discusses using dead sea salts to help.
Hope this helps.  Praying for you.

I do not have experience in this area, but if it is your uterus cramping, not something wrong otherwise,  I would try the  C & B formula from Mountain Meadow Herbs.  It is supposed to completely relax your uterus, and keep you from miscarrying.  I am not saying this is your problem,  but I would try it at least if I had a miscarraige problem.

Well, I am so sorry for you, Helen.  I know how badly you want another and how hopeful you were last month with temperatures and all. You seem to be on every possible supplement for this situation.  I don't know what else to recommend.  I would keep praying.  Never cease and God will be faithful, whether it be through baby or just by your side.  I have prayed for you before.  Still thinking of you.  Kiss

I am so sorry for your loses Helen!  Cry

We have struggled with multiple miscarriages as well.  In researching it as we were dealing with them I found that there are SO many possible causes for first trimester miscarriages trying to find the one magical one for you is kind of like throwing darts in a dark room hoping you hit the target.  What I found though is that among all the various problems they all have one underlying cause...Something in the Mom's body is out of whack.  Toxins, Hormones, Nourishment etc.

After having multiple tests done by my Dr. and them being unable to find anything wrong I ended up doing several cleanses and improving my diet significantly.  After the last cleanse (for a gallbladder/appendix problem) we conceived and the baby is due in April!  Smiley  For me personally I believe my main problem was toxins.

I would strongly encourage you to focus on getting your body as healthy as possible.  Cleanses, water cure,  good diet, continue with your high quality multi vitamins and exercise.  I know you are probably already doing many of these things.  I would encourage you to continue in it.  The healthier you are the better chance your body has of healing itself! In no way do I mean to discourage you from continuing the search for what your specific problem might be, and a specific "fix" for it...Just to encourage you to give your body as much support as possible while you research.

We are praying for you.  Smiley

I am with you too. Have had my share of infertility and miscarriages.

We have a friend who was perfectly healthy but could not keep a pregnancy. She tried progesterone cream, but it just didn't work for her. When she had her progesterone levels checked, they were too low, even on the cream. They finally made the decision to go on progesterone supplements from the doctor, and that did the trick. She is now expecting their second baby.

Have you had your progesterone levels checked? You need to go AS SOON as you find out you're pregnant. Low progesterone is a great problem to have, 'cause it's straightforward to remedy!

Thankyou so much you all!!! I was amazed at all the replys! talk about support!    I do have a good doctor who beleives in herbs and all that but it is so expensive andwe are having a really tough time financially so i guess i will just try ALL of those that you suggested get as healthy as i possibly can!   I especially want to thank mybabyjadon, what you said really touched my heart!  It is always helpfull to hear it again, and it really encouraged me!
I do have problems with Bactirel vaginosis, I thought i had it under control but just around the time i got pregnant I thought that I was having a lot of green discharge again,
I did use the C ad B formula from mountain meadow herbs and it did keep my utereas from cramping but i guess it was an inevitable miscarrige because it did anyway.
God bless you all and Thankyou!!!

First, I am praying for you, I can only imagine the ups and downs you have gone through.

Second, some things to consider:   have you ever done a heavy metal cleanse?  Do you have any amalgam fillings?  I'm pretty sure that most of us on this board are NOT getting flu shots, or else that would be something to also look at.

Try not to drive yourself crazy with all the possibilities, I can imagine it is hard not to, especially with all the adivce out there.

That's too bad that all those things aren't working, I'll say a prayer for you..  Another thing I would try if I had this problem is call up the Amish herbalist, Sam Chupp.  He has helped poeple for 20 years.  He has a book called " 1800 testemonials" that poeple wrote testomonies and how him and his products helped them, ect.  Some poeple might not like the idea of this,  but I have called them when I had problems before.  They will give you a consultation over the phone or by mail.  He will write you back with answers if you send  him a SASE and write ATTENTION: SAM on the envelope.  There's no obligation to buy of course.  His son, Ivan Chupp usually answers the phone.  They do not have a website of course because they are amish,  but they do take credit cards, at least one kind or so.  That's fine if you aren't really interested,  I thought I would put it out there for anyone that might be too, because he's helped alot of poeple.  (No gaurentees Cheesy from me of course, just stating what I know Grin)  Let me know if you want his phone number and address. And by the way it doesn't cost anything to get a consultation.

I don't know if this will help at all but I will throw it out there anyway.... My husbands cousin, who is only in her early 20's had no problems with her first pregnancy and had a healthy boy but then went on to have 5 miscarriages. They didn't have money for fancy treatments either. I don't know the details of how they found out but it turned out that one side of her tubes worked and the other did not. All her msicarriages started out with the bad tube. She had the bad tube closed and went on to have 2 healthy pregnancies/babies. I'm sorry I don't have real details or even medical terms but I learned this all 2nd hand from my MIL. I also know before they finally found the right treatment she did go forward in church and was annointed and prayed over. I don't know if you have done that but sometimes I think the Lord wants us to humble ourselves. I hope and pray you can find an answer and the Lord will bless you with more babies.

Do you think that science is right with claims like: 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage?
If not, why?
If so, why? Also, what are the reasons for all the miscarriages? Like,  is it the mother's body being toxic, or chromosomal problems? Or, God?

An answer to the last question...I believe ultimately it's God choice to take life or give it. I think we can do all we can to keep healthy and figure out the problems that go on in our body, but in the end we always have to trust God for whatever happens.

P.S. I enjoyed talking with you today...Have a great weekend Smiley

The reality is that God truly does know what He is doing -- even though we do not. We take care of our bodies so that we have as productive a span of life here as we can in His service. That is just good stewardship. But that does not guarantee us lives that are free of pain or illness or loss. One of the ways we grow and learn are through the experiences God allows to touch us through His fingers of love. Whether or not we yield to that process and gain from it is ours to determine.

Some miscarriages are the consequence of poor health care. However, to suggest that all miscarriages could be avoided through proper care, diet, nutrition, etc. is to place a cruel burden on those who have lost little ones through no fault of their own.

As much as we'd like to think we are in control, the fact is that we are not. Healthy people lose babies. Healthy people have children with birth defects and other problems. Healthy people must deal with illness, death and loss.

We decide whether we will receive these things from God's hands, trusting His wisdom. I will use everything He places within my hands to do the best I can for my family and my own health. But there are things beyond my reach. He alone knows what those things are. He is Faithful. He is merciful. He is loving. He is kind. He is my Father. He can be trusted.
