Birth Announcements: The Baby/Babies Have Arrived
« on: September 07, 2006, 09:27:08 AM » by sunshine4th
Thank you everyone for your prayers and advice, Jonah Christopher has finally arrived!  Grin I spent Labor day in labor, it's my new favorite holiday. He was 8 lbs 10 ozs and 22 inches long. He is beautiful.Jonah had a rough entrance, LONG labor with pectocin, only to get to 9 and find out he is posterior. I tried everything to get him to turn but his heart rate dropped time I tried a new postion. I finally got to 10 and pushed for ever, I could even see his heard, but he wouldn't come out! They finally decided that he had to be taken out NOW and I had a C-section. His head was turned sideways. There was nothing more discouraging than to see his little head and not be able to push him out. But, God is good and everything came out wonderfully. My little man is here and I love with all my heart. My husband was so wonderful during labor and is being a great new Daddy. My cup runneth over....
Thanks again for the prayers and good wishes. I'll post a picture later when I am sure to be looking for advice for a bleeding nipple!  Shocked

My sister had her baby boy Sunday morning. His name is Emanuel Thomas, and he's the most beautiful baby ever (not that I'm biased Roll Eyes). He and she are both doing well. We're (hopefully) going up to VA this weekend to visit.  Grin

Hello everyone, I had a baby boy last night at 11:00.  Last weekend I had asked everyone to pray for me because I thought I was in labor.  I wasn't.  I just had a stomach virus.  You would think that by # 6 I would know the difference between labor and a stomach virus. Roll Eyes   Tongue  The same day my computer went down.  The new part arrived on this Saturday and my husband installed it yesterday.  So I haven't had much computer access during the interval.
I actually had several false starts to  labor this week.  It has been very frustrating.  Finally,
my water broke early Sunday morning early.  My labor wouldn't start and wouldn't start and wouldn't start.   After  various assundry methods which didn't work, my midwife inserted pitocin into my cervix. This  This was my shortest labor so far--7 hrs.; I cut my shortest  labor in half.  My midwife attributes this to evening primrose oil which I learned about from here. (Thanks yall).  He was over a week late and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and 21 in long. I had back labor so the most comfortable position was standing up.  I have never delivered this way before.  It's definitely easier to push that way.  I had a cervical lip (?), which the midwife had to hold out of the way for me to push.  Ouch!!!  But once that was out of the way, I pushed about 3 times and he was here with no tearing.
I took Supermom vitamins almost from the start, and he was overdue and not the heaviest baby, so I don't think Supermom makes bigger babies.
My midwife said that my placenta was one of the healthiest she had ever seen and she's delivered almost 900 babies.  I believe that is because of all that I have learned from this website.  I can't thank all of yall enough. Smiley Smiley
He's really cute and sweet and has an amazing amount of RED hair.  We haven't named him yet. I guess we better do that soon. Roll Eyes Smiley
I thank yall for praying for us.  God has answered many prayers this week.

Well, I'm a Grand Aunt or Great Aunt...never could figure that one out!

At any rate, my niece had her first baby...at home!!  Grin

Titus Benjamin joined our world last night, Oct. 29th at approximately 8 pm (EST)  Cheesy  He was 7 lbs 8 oz, 21.5 inches long.

From what I understand everything went smoothly and by 10 pm his momma was eating herself a big, juicy steak (I never got that at the hospital!!!)

We have a new baby! YEAH!  Cheesy

Nathanael Edward was born 12-9-06 at 8:25 am.

He weighed 7 lb 11 oz and 19.5 inches long.

He has one big brother (almost 3) who calls him "baby brother" and tells Mama to "take care of baby brother" when he's fussing. He loves to hold baby brother too. They are both SOO wonderful! We homebirthed this time and I loved it! Both my husband and I did. The midwife made sure he helped birth the baby as well.  The labor was easy, the pushing hurt quite a bit as he was O.P. and had a 14.5 in head. Total labor.. lol 3 1/2 hours. Pushed for a whole 5 minutes.

We welcomed Paul John into the world on Jan. 22 at 4:14 PM. He was 10 lb,
4 oz. and soooo cute! I just can't help gushing about how cute he is!  We induced the labor 2 days before the due date and I am very glad of the decision.
Baby had some issues with hyperbilirubinemia and just finished six days of treatment on a "bili blanket". I'm grateful that we were able to treat him at home and not have to go back to the hospital.
We are so blessed with this new life!
Congratulations to all the other parents who have posted to announce their new blessings.

Sorry it took me this long to post Tongue  things are settling down a little now.

I went in Monday the 29th (Jan)  and since I was already 3 cm and having contractions, they just broke my water at 10am he was born at 12:25.  He was facing the wrong way, and turned as he was coming out.  So, I had a hard time at first.

But, other than my stomach still being a little sore, everything is going good.

Oh, is there a breastfeeding thread?  I just would love to get this little guy going longer between feedings Shocked  I want to nurse him longer than my other kiddos, I gave up with them after a about a month and a half.

I really want to continue with him at least for 6 months.

We named our little girl Gianna Rose (pronounced jee-ah-nuh)
8 lb 13 oz.

Acutally the castor oil wasnt that bad at all. I put in a protein drink called "boost"
I did have the diarrea but it ended by time I took my third dose. And I wasnt in the bathroom that much. Really, it wasnt that bad. But I did make sure I ate light- nothing that would aggravate KWIM?

And I agree with Rebeka, the pregnancies are getting a little more difficult at the end now that I had so many. I felt GREAT after the birth, but the last 3- 4 were very trying! I started seeing a chiro. around 30 wks along and that helped tremendously. I highly recommened it for any hip, back or leg pain. I think mine was caused by a pinched nerve.  I had to stop going when I was 40 wks (my dh lost his job) and slowly it got worse but thankfully I only had 4 extra weeks to go.
I learned my lesson about due dates- that it is a big big mistake to give them out. I had a lot of pressure from well meaning family and friends. One person even asked me if I was sure the baby was alive!!

Grin Cheesy :)Yey!!! Our first baby, Alexander, was born on March 9th at 6:24pm. I was overdue 8 days when my water broke on Friday (9th) at 10:10 am. My contractions started immediately going 2-3 min apart for 35-45 sec. and grew quickly from there. At 1:30 we met with the midwife at the birthing center, she checked me and I was 5 cent. dilated and after a cervical sweep I opened to 7 cent. An hour later I was 9 cent. and soon after I was ready to push. I pushed for two long hours and Alexander came into the world, cute as can be. He was 8 lb. and 20 in. long. I took no medication what so ever before, during or after birth and our son had no vaccinations, no eye drops, nothing! All pure and very healthy! We are sooooooooo thankful to God for his blessings. I was in labor for a total of 8 hours, this being the first baby, and no rips or tears, healing very quickly!!! I'm sure that red raspberry leaf tea helped a lot! And to add to all these blessings already...he is a very calm and sweet baby!!! Grin

We are very happy to announce the arrival of Isaac Stuart! He came into the world on Tuesday, the 27th, three days past his EDD.

Incidentally, our firstborn was 5lbs, 7oz, and this guy was 8lbs, 5oz! (And I'm only 5 ft tall.) Not sure if it was the Supermoms, CLO, or Bone Ami, but something sure made a difference!  Grin  Tongue

Well, this mama has lived up to her user name once again! Boy # 8 arrived safely Sat. eve, March 31st at 7:29 pm. It was my best birth yet and that is saying a lot considering the last one had ended up in the hospital (PTL it was the ONLY one that ever did) and I typically have long, hard births, pushing for an hr. or two (more like 4-5 hrs. with the twins). This time labor was 5 1/2 hrs. long and I pushed for 5 min.!! Shocked

OK, now about our precious baby: We named him Cedric ("leader") Honor and he weighed 8lbs. 2 oz. (which I was impressed with because he was about 2 weeks late). He measured 20 1/2 in. long which is exactly what all 8 boys have measured! Wink Our only girl was 20 in.

I must mention yet that I attribute the success of this birth first of all to the wonderful grace of our Lord Who answered our prayers and secondly to the things I have learned here on WTM! Such as Evening Primrose Oil (from Beeyoutiful), Gentle Birth Formula (from Mountain Meadow Herbs), Red Raspberry Brew (Bulk Herb Store), and blue cohosh approx. 16 hrs. prior to labor, and of course, it was a waterbirth! Then during labor I did Beka's exercise thing she mentioned where you put your hands above your head against a wall and swing your hips to line up pelvis. I also went to hands and knees position often during contractions and delivered in that position. This is all very significant to me because I normally stay in pretty much a sitting position for labor and delivery in the pool. I feel it was helpful this time to focus on keeping the pelvis lined up, trying a variety of positions to avoid a swollen anterior lip, which is what happened at the previous birth.

Sorry this got long and detailed, but I love learning and want to pass on info that might be helpful to someone else. Smiley

And BTW, we are all doing great and rejoicing in God's goodness!! Daddy is a little concerned with how he will keep 8 boys busy, but so far he is doing great job, so I'm not worried!  Wink

Josiah James was born Monday weighing 8 lbs 10 oz.
I woke up at 3 AM, in full labor, contractions one after another. We got ready and headed to the hospital my water broke on the way and I was 8 cm by the time we got there at 4 AM. So, we thought everything was going to go quick and smooth. But he was born by emergency C-section at 7:30. God arranged for every doubt we might have had to be addressed, so we knew this was the only way it could have gone. No sadness, doubts, or second guessing this time - it was the right thing at the right time for both baby and mom.

Here's a pic. I'll post more later but it may be a while. Thanks for all the prayers.

Larissa Mae arrived at 6:54 PM, Monday April 30. She is 7 pounds even, 20 1/2 inches long. We had a successful VBAC at home in the water. It was hard, harder than I ever could of imagined but I did it! I pushed for 2 and 1/2  hours and I can't believe I was able to do that.

Baby is in perfect health and nurses wonderfully. Starting rooting around immediately after birth but I couldn't let her nurse because she had a very short cord. She had to wait till we got to the bed.

I did have to go in to the hospital for stitches because I had a tear my midwife wasn't comfortable fixing as it went up into my vagina in a Y shape. They actually put me to sleep to fix it and I am grateful for that actually. We were home for a good many hours after the birth before leaving to get fixed though which was wonderful. Enjoyed some nice time with family and our new baby girl. It was wonderful all of us being home together and we had an amazing midwife.

I'll try to do pictures later. All I have on the computer are some of us in the water and I didn't think that would be appropriate to post here.
