These worked well for my dd's arm:
Thanks for posting this...my dd may have broken her arm this weekend...
from Broken bone protocol:

Quote
Spring 2005--RAPID HEALING
I broke my ankle bone (fibula) a month ago, and the doctor said it was a significant injury and may need surgery. I followed the Weston Price protocol for fractures, using 1 teaspoon cod liver oil daily, 1 teaspoon high-vitamin X Factor butter oil daily, lots of raw milk, raw cheese, kefir and bone broths daily, as well as lying in the sun.
I'm also trying to give her teas high in calcium/silica (oat straw, nettles, horsetail).

We picked up some Herb Pharm Trauma Drops, too (out of Rescue Remedy due to last birth)...a liquid tincture of Calendula, St. John's Wort and Arnica.  That seems to be very useful.

She hasn't been in pain, or I'd give her white willow bark tea...
Lobelia is good for pain (topical or internal)--check it out.  Eucalyptus oil diluted is good for soreness...in a bath, too w/ Epsom salts, if you can get the shoulder under water.  I was surprised at how my daughter didn't encounter much pain--m/b wasn't a bad break.  We had a rub by Olba's for muscle pain and used that, too (had arnica, m/b in it, def. Eucalyptus oil).

I imagine some are set b/c the break took the bones out of alignment.  Others may not have been affected enough and just heal on their own.  REALLY can't recommend Comfrey (externally) enough.  I can PM you a pic of what ours looks like in MI now.  I have sent roots people to grow...our co-op sells it dried in bulk spice section.  Just some ideas.  Smiley

Thanks for the info.  i do have eucalyptus oil too.  Well, I guess because the break was in her shoulder, they can't really set that, it was a pretty good fracture, even I could see it.

I found a picture of comfrey, have never seen that, so I'll have to get some of that.  I might stop at the natural food place today and see what they have.

She just realized she won't be able to go fishing!   Cheesy  Well, I guess she's going to have to find other things to do for a while.

Makes sense about the shoulder...can't imagine trying to set it.  Cheesy

I did attach a pix of our comfrey from yesterday, FYI.

I have a cat with a broken leg; they put a pin in it.  Said they'd take the stitches out in a couple weeks, and then another 2-4 weeks after that they'd remove the pin.  I'd like to help the poor thing heal more quickly, but I'm not sure if that would create a problem w/ the pin.  Will it heal into the leg making it impossible to remove later?

I have some plantain oil, and I'm heating it up with a bunch of dried comfrey leaves.  I figure I can use that as a basis for a poultice.  I also have nettle, oatstraw, and horsetail (like someone mentioned) that I could make into a tea, but how to get a cat to drink it?  Wink

I also have aloe, lavender EO, and...my mind is blank.  I have other stuff, too. Roll Eyes

Also, are the comfrey leaves alone fine?  I have a friend with probably an acre of comfrey plants, so I could go dig up the roots if that would be even better.  Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, and I know he's just a cat, but he's the only "baby" I have at home right now to tend to.

I fell and broke my arm last night, the ER said the radius bone is broken right before the joint.  They think it may have to have orthopedic surgery - any suggestions on herb for speedy healing of a broken bone?  Boneset was all I could think of and I don't have that available.  TIA

Comfrey...Whiterock had an excellent article on the specifics for safely using it internally. I've only had experience with using it externally in poultice form.

So sorry.  Sad

We used Comfrey poultices on 2 broken bones w/ great results.

Up your calcium, too--horsetail is good, esp. w/ its silica.  Nettles are very nutritious for healing, too--infuse them.   Echinacea for healing, too...CLO.
