Reply Notifications: How do I get my messages/replies to come to my email address?

do I have to come to the website to see new messages, or can I have them come to my inbox?

To receive email notification of replies to the threads you would like to watch, choose the "Notify of Replies" option (top left column) on the page that you posted.  You can also go to your profile and in the left column under the heading "Profile Info", choose "show posts".  This will give you a list of all the posts you have made.  Under each post there is also an option "Notify of replies" that you can activate from here.  If you've already activated the reply clicking on this option again will disable it.

You can go to your profile (right column from any page in the forum).  Then under "Modify Profile" (left column) click on "Notifications and Email".  Check any of the boxes that apply.

*Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email.
*Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply.
*Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.

Then click on the "save settings" button.

If you wish to be notified whenever a new topic is posted, you can navigate to that discussion board (ie Nutrition & Food).  Once inside, you can click on "Notify of Replies" and this will alert you anytime someone creates a new thread inside "Nutrition & Food".

If you want to continue to be notified of responses to this topic, even though you have not posted, you will want to click on "Notify of Replies" once inside the thread.

Somehow, my e-mail is notified each time a thread I've posted in is responded to.  We really don't want all those notifications...I get them here.  Can someone tell me how to turn off that feature?  I tried...something...last week or so, but it didn't seem to work (and I don't remember what I did  Roll Eyes)
Thanks!

Under UserTools at right go to Profile.  Under Modify Profile to left click on Notifications and Email.  On that page uncheck the box that says Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic. Then click Save Settings.

I'm having the same problem.  I turned on the notification when there were only like 30 members and 10 topics, but now I keep ending up with 80 messages in my in-box.  EEK!!  Maybe it's a malfunction?  Or does it take time?  I've tried shutting it off twice in the past 2 weeks.              ~L

I am wondering if there are a certain number of threads that you can have in your notifications.   I don't seem to be getting some of the ones that I have clicked to be notified of.    Thanks.

There is no limit.  I get notifications in my email for every topic on the board.  Grin

However, if you are receiving several in a short amount of time, your network provider may be bouncing them back as SPAM.  To help with this problem you might make sure your setting is to receive only the first notification when a topic has been responded to instead of for each reply.

Is anyone having trouble receiving their notifications?  Some changes were made to the server on Thursday and since, I believe my notifications are not working properly.

I'll be passing this on to the techies on Monday, but would like to know if I'm the only one before I do.

I'm also not getting notifications, but in addition I'm also never signed in anymore when I come to the homepage, but when I click on any subject I am then signed on for the rest of that session.

Okay, I notified the "boss", but probably won't hear anything about it until Monday at the earliest.  I'll stay on him.  Can't live w/o my notifications.   Grin

I'll also tell him about the "remember me" function.
