NOTICE: Server/Forum Will Be Down [Unavailable]

Sometime today (Dec 29, 2006) WellTellMe, 7xSunday and UrbanExodus will all simultaneously go down for a major upgrade.

The upgrade may take a few hours, or it may take longer. At worst, everything should be back up and running January 1, 2007.

More info about new features, etc. will be available in this thread when the sites come back up.

Forgive us for the inconvenience, and if we don't see you before then, Happy New Year!

Well, there are a few long threads I have been trying to get through (I don't want to print them).

So, if anyone wants things to read while WTM is down.....click on thread you want (NOW). Then click 'print' on the left side. You can save that to your desktop, or just print it (unless you are worried about ink and paper like me Grin

)

I don't have to click on print to be able to view later. I just quickly go through & click on whatever I want to look at, then view it through work offline later. I did this all of the time on my laptop to read WTM before I had internet. I would spend an afternoon hurriedly clicking on everything that I had not read since my last visit. Then I would take it home & read it later.

You won't be able to change to different pages though (I don't think anyways).....it would need to be refreshed. So, if a thread is longer than one page you will only be able to view that one.

ahh.... well I'm an idiot when it comes to computers. Good thing my hubby is a genius.

You do have to click on each individual page in the thread, not just the first one. Does clicking on print get you the whole thread with one click?

You can click print and then "File" ==> "Save Page As" ==> "Save"

This will create a HTML file that will open browser style but will not be dependent on any server.

I personally have my PC set up to print to a ghost printer. These files I can later convert to PDF files without using Adobe (expensive software). It's pretty nifty, but you have to set it up first. If anyone is interested, send me an email and I'll send you the document that tells you how to do it.

I am going to have a really productive weekend!

Our electricity bill was really high this month and we thought it might be because we are leaving the computer on ALL the time! When I wasn't using it so much, I'd just check email after my husband got on it and then turn it off, but this site has me checking it every time I walk by! So anyway, thank God for high electricity bills because now I'm turning it off as soon as I'm done. Maybe the laundry will get caught up!
