I'm excited to read so many helpful ideas and insights.  My name is Jaynee (32) and am married to my high school sweetheart Daniel (33).  We are missionaries in Mexico and the Lord has blessed us with 9 precious children with number 10 due in December.  Their names are Timothy (9), Elijah (8 ), Rebekah (7), Benjamin (6), Abigail (5), Isaiah (4), Josiah (3 in July), Noah (2 in August), and Susannah (8 months).
In the town where we live, we do not have access to very good medical services, so I'm always interested in learning more to better care for my growing family.
Look forward to getting to know you all better. Smiley

Hey to all y'all!  I just discovered this place after ordering some vitamins for my friend's birthday and my girls thought we should write something too!   Wink  We are a family of 6 in central Georgia.  I have been a widow for almost 6 years.  I have 4 girls ( 13, 11, 7, 6 ) and 1 boy (9).  We homeschool and babysit 3 little children. (2 two year olds and 1 baby)  I can testify to God's faithfulness to take care of us!  He is so good to us and His mercy is new every morning!

Hi I am Sandra. I have one husband (I think you have to say that now days) and he is a he (I think you have to say that too). I have three children Hannah Joy(7), Jacob Daniel (5) and Maciah Benjamin (4 in July).

I homeschool, and my last child was home-birthed..what an even extra awesome experience. We home-church as well.

My journey here began when I started reading the To Train Up a Child books (which I had to special order because our dinky library didn't have it) Oh yah I live in a dinky town in Mid Minnesota.

Anyway, after reading that book I then visited their website...<www.nogreaterjoy.org>. I ordered the very reasonably priced 4 book set of the To Train up... and No Greater Joy books. Then I received the NGJ magazine which I then heard about this site. What a mouthful.

Those books put out by the Pearls have literally changed the way I parent and I have since purchased 8 more to pass out to my friends as tracts  Tongue.

I am in the process of taking a class online/mail through the Institue of Children's Literature. I would love to see more children's books involving a homeschool setting. So I may need some help from you beautiful people!

I have a rather big garden and don't necessarily love to work in it, but I certainly love the fresh food in the summer and the frozen/canned fresh food in the winter.

I really enjoy natural health. Can't stand how my family and beloved friends have become addicted to the doctors and hospitals. I just ordered my 1st bottle of Supermom...I guess I am now officially a member of this family's fan club  Roll Eyes

I will save the best for last..My husband and I are completely in love with eachother, but most of all the Lord. We will never stop growing and moving forward in Him..Sky is the limit with His teachings and filling of His Spirit.

Hello to all! My name is Amber, and I'm very happily married (7 years this December) to Corey. We have two sons, Ethan, 5 and Nolan, who's almost 15 months old. We will be homeschooling our children...actually, I've already started homeschooling Ethan, but we just haven't registered with the state yet. Well....ACTUALLY - I've been homeschooling Ethan since he was a very small baby and am doing the same with Nolan!  Cheesy

A while back, a good friend of mine gave me the Pearl's book, To Train Up A Child, and everything that they talked about TOTALLY clicked! I had Corey read the book, and he agreed 100% with everything taught in it. I don't think I've ever had so many questions answered all in one sitting (I saw down and read the entire book in one evening). From there, I went to their website at NoGreaterJoy.org and signed up for the newsletters. It was in the last newsletter that I found out about this site, and I think it's pretty awesome so far!  Cool

Sooo...that's my long rambling as to how I ended up here! Wink I'm glad to be here - I'm glad you guys put together this site - and I hope to make a bunch of new friends here!

Dear Bobbie~
Hey there!  I just wanted to say hi to you because I am a widow too!  I am 31 years old and have been without my husband for almost 6 years.  Congratulations on your soon-to-be marriage!  I pray that God will richly bless you in your new marriage.   I have 5 children~ ages 13, 11, 9, 7, 6~  God has been very good to us these years!

Hey everyone.  I wanted to sorta introduce myself, explain my situation and ask a question or two.

I am 30+, wife and mother of two, 16yoG and 8yoB.  We homeschool and are very active in our local church.  I have been married 10 years, almost.  My dd is a sophmore who loves horses and learning about herbs, she hopes to work with both of them one day in her future.  My ds today is fully into FISHING, and archery, and hopes to hunt one day.

Dh has worked with the same company since 1977, he's a wonderful worker, but would rather fish for a living, tournament fishing.

Hi everyone!  My name is Gina.  My husband, Ken, and I have been married 12 years and have five adorable children so far, ages 11yoG, 9yoG, 5yoG, 3yoB, and 6 moG.  We live in Texas and have homeschooled for seven years.  Currently, we are 5 months into Ken's year-long deployment to Iraq.  We are honored to serve in the Army for a little while, and thank the Lord that He is getting us through this difficult time.   Most nights are pretty quiet around here, so I'm very thankful to find this site!  I feel like I've found a bunch of new friends tonight! Cheesy

We LOVE the Pearls!!  We have only known of their ministry for a couple of years, and have read a few of their books. Obviously, I've read Debi Pearl's book (a.k.a. kenshelpmeet) Wink.  I have a wonderful, amazing man and miss him terribly.  I've told him about the book and he said he thought I didn't need any help being a better wife, but I know better!    Wink

We're still struggling with consistency in child training, and boy has it been difficult since Ken left!  I'm determined to do better every day, no matter how worn out I feel.  Only by God's grace will I get there, and I believe I will!  God is good!

After Army life, we plan on finding a few acres (10 to 100 -- wherever God leads Smiley) and homesteading.  It's hard to be patient, dreaming of days to come.  But I believe He gives us dreams for a reason and His plans for us will come to fruition in time.  Right now, I'm just doing a lot of reading, gardening, and dreaming with the kids.  They can hardly wait as well. Smiley

Anyway, sorry I'm so long-winded.  It's great to "meet" all of you!!

I thrive on learning, and read anything I can get my hand on about herbs.  We attend a wonderful church where  we are involved with the youth and singing.  What a joy to be serving the Lord with a great bunch of kids!!  This is a great site and I look forward to learning from all of you.

Well, so far it looks like I am the ole' lady here.  I am a 48 yr old SAHM and foster mom.  We have 3 bios- DD 28 married, DD 24 married, and DS 16.  We are also parenting 3 foster children.  FS 5, FD 4 and a 5 mo. old FS.  The boys are half bros., the girl unrelated.  We have homeschooled for 16 years and DS is working fulltime in construction.  He also is doing pretty good with keeping up with his schooling.  He is one tired puppy when he gets home!  He's up at 5 to do his bible study and then he does his schoolwork.  We leave the house with him by 8:15.

I have been married to the most wonderful person for 29 years.  he is a Mr. Steady/with strong command man tendencies.  These have been coming to light as I have been learning to honor and reverence him.  Poor guy, he has been buried under my baggage for years!

We live in the country, but it is fast being developed.  We are building additions onto our pre-civil war farmhouse, but it looks like we will have to move eventually.  We are foster to adopt and will be adopting our beautiful Beloved soon, and are hoping that we get the boys too.  We firmly believe that kiddos need to be raised out in the country with fresh air, plenty of trees, old barn and a creek.

Oh my... you can tell it's late I am rambling on and on....  I am happy to be here, hope that I have something to contribute, and am looking to keep on learning.....

Hello, I'm Kate. I turn 28 on Friday. I've been married for 4 and a half years to Hugh and I'm mother to two boys, Jarvis (3) and Linus (1). My sons were both born at home and breastfed. My husband and I just bought our first home and I'm planning to garden for the first time in my life next year! I enjoy writing articles and hope to some day write a memoir. I'm one of the moderators of our local Freecycle group. I enjoy reading No Greater Joy and Above Rubies. While I have many girlfriends who know alot about a healthier life I consider myself a novice. I just started taking Super Mom vitamins and doing a few other things. While we've always preferred whole foods that's about as far as I have gotten so I am looking to learn more and more. I'm excited about this forum! It's nice to find a postiive place on the internet!

I was thrilled to hear about this forum from NGJ and have enjoyed reading all the interesting topics here. I am Cinnamon, 37 yo, wife to John (married 19 yrs), mother of 8 children (4 boys, 4 girls) ages 16b, 11b, 9b, 8g, 7b, 5g, 4g, 2g.  We had our first 5 kiddos at the hospital, then the last 3 with a midwife/homebirth.  One of those even came out a tad bit early and we had her in the truck :-p

We homeschooled for 11 years then this past year entered them all (except 2yo) into our small public school.  One of our children came back home after a few months - it just didn't work out, but the rest stayed in. It's been interesting to watch them thrive and learn so much. They have all done very well and this year has given me much insight to my children.

We currently have one lamb (for 4-H) a hamster, 8 chickens and one Jack Russell Terrier. All that and we don't even live in the country :-)

I like to sew my little girls dresses, crochet, garden, play board games with my kiddos, draw, write, cook with my kiddos, learn new things, try new things and teach my kids.

I am enjoying learning from all of you~ Cinnamon

Hi Momofmany,

I thought I was the oldie but goodie here.  I will be 40 next month. I am very happy to hand the title over to you. Cool  Undecided I have 3 children, a 17 year old daughter, 14 year old son, and an 11 year old daughter.  The are all going to go up one age over the summer.  My son works with his dad building staircases, and has been doing that since he is 10.  He also comes home tired, but manages to keep up with his studies. My husband (of 19 years) and I have been homeschooling for the past 10 years.  I was a school teacher for the first years of my children's lives.  I thought a mainstream education was the most important thing a person could have. Boy, things do change!  We love our family time most of all.  Swimming in the creek, killing snakes in the pond, and watching our Canada geese grow.
My mom took in foster children when I was a growing up.  She eventually adopted my 2 sisters and 1 brother.  I was the eldest of 7.  She had 4 biological and 3 foster.  I'm so glad you joined the forum.  I'm sure there will be lots of good information for you to share!

Cheesy  Hello!  I have to say I love this site!  My sweet sweetie of a husband thinks I'm nuts for spending so much time reading on this site!  It has been so helpful to me!  I figured it's probably past time that I introduce myself!

I'm Jennifer, and I have been married almost 5 years (This June) and have two beautiful blessings!  Tatiana is two and a half, and Benaiah is 7 months.  We just moved to the Swamp of Minnesota in December, and everything is all wet!  Suprising! Roll Eyes

My husband is the preacher at a small church, and I'm a stay at home wife and mom.  We moved to a small town (less then 100) from the city of Eden Prairie (over 50,000, one of many suburbs to St. Paul/Minneapolis).  Slowly I'm getting used to shopping long term from nearby towns. Smiley

Thank you all for contributing to this wonderful site!

Hi all,

I have so much enjoyed this site! I found it also thru NGJ, which I happen to love also. I tried to go to the family retreat last year, but it didn't work out. Maybe this year...are they having one? I have been on a quest to eat healthier and to cook healthier. Here is the truth...I was so afraid of getting colon cancer! that is really what got me motivated. I have always had digestion problems. I have a friend that teaches a healthy living class one night a week and it's free, so I am there every Monday night. She introduced us to the Master Cleanse. I have had the book for a year and still haven't done it. I did a colon/organ cleanse after a homeschooling packet of cards came in the mail with an article, complete with pictures, on parasites. I  ordered the Supermom vitamins and am impatiently waiting for them. Had to read alot to understand why everyone was feeling bad after taking them. I didn't know they were a detox also, (see, I have alot to learn)I am glad I read that first, cuz putting any pill inside my body freaks me out anyway, I probably would have stopped taking them.
I am 36, soon to be 37. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 18 yrs this July. I read the Helpmeet book, made all my friends read it and am hoping to start a small group study with some younger wives soon. I still read it myself, getting ready to start on my 3rd time. I am very stubborn I guess. I wish the Pearls could just come and live with us for a while...and "fix" me... Wink. We homeschool our 3 children, 17 B, 12 B, and 11 G. That has also been an adventure and it is my boys that complain about eating healthy. They ask me, 'When are you going to buy REAL food??' sigh...maybe one day all this persistance will pay off and they will make better choices in their families when they are older.
I have rambelled on and my daughter is waiting to go on a bike ride with me, so I am off,
thanks for all the posts, they are so interesting and funny and right on time for me,
marie
oh yeah, i live in virginia...

This site is sooo great!! Thanks for starting it up, Gabe!!
Well, my name is Lisa (Mama Sita) and DH and I have 4 great kids: Mason 11, Jared 10, Cassidy 9, and Levi 8. We homebirth and have always homeschooled, except for this past year when we put our kids in PS so that I could finish a nursing degree... Undecided We fully intend to get our kids OUT of PS and get back to that good ol' homeschooling that we so much enjoy!
Our family's side business is Northwoods Kettle Corn Company and it is fun, but a LOT of work! Maybe you'll see us if you come up to Wisconsin sometime.
I found out about this board thru NGJ, which we have been reading since before Rebekah got married. It has been fun to see the Pearl kids grow up and start families of their own. We've really been blessed by NGJ.
Oh yeah, we love raising goats, chickens, pigs and whatever else happens to wander into the yard. Right now, we live in town, but hopefully soon, we'll get back out on a little farm. Our boys like R/C's...the big ones that need lots of tweaking! Great for teaching electronics!

Glad to be here. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from all of you. I don't plan to stay in nursing, but possibly go on for a ND degree (naturopathic doc).

God Bless,
Mama Sita

Hi!  Wow!  I just read about this website today in my NGJ Magazine!  This is going to be such a blessing to me, I know it!  Plus, one of the actual "Pearl Girls" hangs out here?  Way cool!  Beka, I just read (yesterday, actually) your article titled "The folks in England are talking about us!"  That article has blessed me so much.  I have been reading your parents' "stuff" for YEARS now and have backed off a bit from their advice and have been believing a lie whispered in my ear by the enemy.  That whisper was saying things like, "Ohhh...come on, you don't have to do THAT!  The kids will be FINE!"  I know SO MANY people at my church who have children who are lost (a.k.a. "jumped ship") and they just think that is NORMAL!  Then, I look at you and your brothers and sisters (well...what I know about you all, anyway) and I have PROOF!  Ok, I know this website isn't for NGJ...but your parents would probably never see any email I wrote because I don't have any desperate problems.  Sigh, I am just almost in tears right now knowing that you are HERE.  Do I sound weird?  Lol!

Ok, back to me.  My nickname is Winni, but my real name is Tracey.  Long, not very interesting story.  I am a stay-at-home mom to 4 cutie pies names Tristin (girl 10), Tasha (girl 7), Jordan (boy 3.5), and Jaden (boy 17months)...I'm getting anxious for another!  We have been homeschooling for 5 years using Sonlight, but we're going to give Tapestry of Grace a try next year.  I'm also a big fan of Explode The Code, Math-U-See, Singapore Math, and A Reason For Handwriting.

I've been a Christian for about 5 years.  My husband and I have been married for 6 years.  His name is Chet and he is a wonderful man.  I am learning to be his perfect help meet  Cheesy.

I have been working on getting my family to eat and use healthier products...but it is sooo expensive  Undecided!  I look forward to reading the posts here and checking out Beeyoutiful dot com!  That SuperMom supplement sounds GREAT so far!  I already REALLY enjoy some of the herbal teas from BulkHerbStore dot com (another Pearl "store").

UPDATED July 27, 2007

My name is Lisa.  I am a 39 yr. old wife and mother.  My husband (of 17 years), and I are missionaries in the Amazon Basin of Brazil.  We have been on the field since Aug. of 2000.  My husband is a second generation missionary, we are very blessed to live in the same town as my In-Laws. Wink  We have 5 blessed children: Emily Joy 15, Katherine Rose 14, James M. V 12, Jesse Tyler 11, and Beatrice Hope 8.  We have home schooled from the beginning and use a variety of material  with the main curriculum being A.C.E.  I love all that I am learning on this site about herbs and self healing, and am I excited to try stuff out on the family!!! Grin  They do not always appreciate Dr. Moms remedies, Lips Sealed but once in a while something will REALLY work and convince them all to do anything I say. Cool  Just let me give you an example:  My husband and I had to take my MIL to the base where we can use the ham radio to stay in contact with my sister-in-law and her family (missionaries to the Indian tribes).  There are NO roads to get where they are only a 700 ft. airstrip. Shocked  Anyway, on the way home from the call, the cell phone rings and it is a hysterical Katherine, James cut himself really deep on his wrist...........  When we FINALLY got home they already had the water heating up for me and the plantain in the dish.  When we poured the tea into the cut it stopped bleeding INSTANTLY!  My Mother-in-Law (MIL) was so impressed she told everyone she met.  We thank God for the bulkherbstore site and the NGJ site and this site as well.  I hope we can learn a lot from each other and I would be delighted to hear from any one who wants to email.
God bless you as you serve Him,
Lisa

Hello, my name is Michelle.  I am married to my Mr. Steady (almost 9 yrs) and have three kids, boy almost 8, girl 51/2, and girl 1 whom I homeschool.  I am new to healthy eating and lifestyle although I've dabbled in natural healing for a while.  I would like to get more serious about changing our health so I am enjoying this website very much.  I mentioned making my own laundry soap and my hubby rolled his eyes.  Roll Eyes   Cheesy  I've read the Pearl's books for a while and am a living testimony to what the Created book can do for a marriage although I'm very far from perfect.   Smiley  I like to read, write, and do anything that challenges my brain, and I dislike cooking and cleaning, kind of a bad thing since I am a mom he he.   Grin  I just ordered the Supermom pills and can't wait to give them a try.  I have very low energy levels due to anemia and insomnia, and I am hoping this will help.  I want to be a lean mean cooking and cleaning Mama Machine.  Okay that's really corny, but then again so am I.   Grin  I am excited about all I can learn from this website and am anxious to get started.

Hi, everyone, have been anxious to join up for awhile and last night my husband surprised me and signed me up. woo-hoo. I'm a SAHM and married to my best friend and lover for 10 yrs. We have 4 kids , Eric 6, Emily 5, Zachary 2, and Joshua 1..........and who knows from there.  Grin  We met Jesus 4 1/2 yrs. ago and our life hasn't been the same since.  There is nothing like serving the King of Kings.
We have been slowly changing our diets so i have been totally enjoying all the advice. My husband has been diagnosed with RA and diet plays a huge part in it.  The doctor's told him all they can do is put him on drugs , we said no thanks and the journey began.  Discovered welltellme thru NGJ and have been excited and inspired ever since.  Would love to someday have our own little farm and make own soap and cheese and who knows what. This coming from someone who was grossed out looking at a cow.   Roll Eyes It's amazing what God can do!!! More than anything i want to serve Jesus and my husband with my whole heart and be the greatest mom ever.

Introductions are so nice! I am Dalyn, wife of handsome firefighter and mother to three great kids! They have been raised with the help of Mike & Debi Pearl Smiley
We live on a hobby farm, raise a variety of critters for meat, and horses to ride, and my personal favorite, Nubian Dairy Goats. I use the milk for kefir, yogurt, a variety of hard and soft cheeses, soap making, and the whey to culture veggies, feed my garden, and to soak my grains.
I got into herbs and food for nutrition and healing when I got ill and disgusted with the medical "experts" that didn't seem to know much about anything common sense. I decided I would just learn to do it myslef. Thanks also to the Pearls for that inspiriration~ I thought if they can, so can I!
I write articles for several on-line newsletters and have done so for a couple printed magazines. I'm not very good at it, just available! Smiley
I am a homeschool, homekeeping mamma, weird in my community, and praying to adopt two or three Liberian children.
How's that for an intro??!

Hi everyone, my name is Melanie and I am married to my wonderful husband, Justin, of almost 10 years! I am 29 yr.'s old and have been blessed with 5 children, 8, 6, 5, 3, and 1. They are all 18 months apart , don't know how that happened!!
We live in Kansas, I grew up a farmgirl and i married a farmer. My parents homeschooled me for highschool before that I went to a small christian school. We are also 2nd generation homeschoolers and we love it!!  I was first introduced to this site through the No greater Joy magazine, which I adore !! I love to quilt, arrange flowers, decorate, bake, read,  I am a student on health at the time, especially in this last year dealing with health problems. Iwould love to get into organic gardening and herbs, as soon as I get a handle on my health I hope!
My passion is God's Word, He has brought me so close to Him especially in the last year, the Psalms have especially been encouraging to me!
I love this web site and all the advice, it's been so much fun getting to know everyone!

Hello.  I found this site thru my latest NGJ magazine.  This site looks fantastic.  I love learning more about healthy eating, using herbs, etc.
My kids & I have been taking a nature course the last 5 weeks and have learned about many edible things in the woods, which is so exciting to me.
I'm married to my dearest man for 14 years, have 3 children-10, 8 and 1.5.  We homeschool. We have horses, beef cows(we just got to see a calf born last week), chickens, dogs, cat.  I love to garden and my dh built me 12 raised beds last year to make it easier on my back.  I've got strawberry beds, asparagus bed, and a bunch of annual veggies planted. I have an herb garden outside my kitchen door that I love adding to and learning how to use those herbs.   Need to redo my raspberry and rhubarb patch as we needed to enlarge the cow pasture and they are all now trampled to smithereens.  Also love canning and sewing-especially cloth diapers.

My name is Sonia. I've been married for 14 years to the most awesome guy ever. We are the happy parents of 6 kids. I was raised on "home remedies", shunned them (thanks to doctors' advice) when I first became a mama, and went back when I realized I was trading Grandma's legit advice for something more or less unknown. Anyway, I don't know much about herbs, but I know enough to treat the usual things that come up. I feel safer knowing I am in control of the things my family is taking. They might not feel that way, but oh well, what are you gonna do?? Roll Eyes
I have already learned quite a bit from this site in just a few days, so I am excited about the future here with ya'll.

My name is Karen Felmley. I live in WA state. It is great to be on this site and look around. I love all the info and the encouragement people give to one another. I am married to another one of those 'best men ever'....there are so many of those; maybe it has something to do with Gods blueprint for marriage and wives as the helpmeet!  Grin I know it does and am so thankful to the Lord for His wisdom that is timeless, what a great God! We have a sweet son named Marcus who is almost 2 1/2 and everyday (and night) my husband and I say to one another "we love that kid!" Training makes children so wonderful that you want more....so we had another sweet girl named Ingrid but we call her "Ingy Bingy" and a baby due in August...can't wait to meet the baby! We were blessed to read TTUAC before having children. We love the Bible tapes from Mr. Pearl. I feel like I know someone famous when I am on this site with Rebecca Anast! What a privalege. Don't know if Rebecca will read this but just in case we sing all her songs all the time and are blessed by her heart for 'the ends of the earth'. It is encouraging to read articles by someone who has been trained in the way she should go. It gives such an example to us who desire to do the same with our children. We have enjoyed  the childrens seminars from the Pearls as well as the Hebrews conference and we can't wait for more. lalala! I love whole foods and health and smiling at my family.

Hello there!

My name is Licia Bajus and WOW! have I been blessed by all I've read here!  I've been married to my man for almost four years - our anniversary is Thursday (06/01) Grin  We have 2 children - a beautiful 18 month old girl, Abigail Dawn, who lives up to her name:  she really is a source of joy; also a 2 mos. old boy, Phinehas Mark (after Eleazar's son, NOT Eli's [Num. 25] Wink).  He truly is full of zeal and passion - we are praying for wisdom to channel it properly as he grows - hah!

My husband and I have recently been getting excited about going "the natural route" for many things (ie. soaps, foods, etc.).  I've had many questions and not known where to go for answers and then I read about this site in NGJ.  Yea!! SO...With many questions I've signed up, with the hopes of being able to bless some of you as well!

Blessings!
Licia
